Chapter 7

Unlike the other students in the class, Henry Carter was not overly excited. His gaze fell on those thirty-six divine patterns, and he stared with slight confusion at three of the nodes, frowning a little.

There was something wrong with the divine technique performed by Miss Grace; there were three very obvious mistakes!

“Miss Grace is one of the top students in the Genius Class at Nanxing Academy, already a ten-star apprentice and about to become a martial artist. The Triple Tidal Palm is only a low-level spirit-rank divine technique—how could Miss Grace make such basic mistakes?”

Henry Carter was puzzled; those three mistakes were just too obvious. He could hardly believe that Miss Grace would make such elementary errors. He didn’t actually know exactly what the Triple Tidal Palm was supposed to be like—he just knew which nodes weren’t perfect.

What Henry Carter didn’t know was that Miss Grace had deliberately left one mistake, but he had spotted three!

“Miss Grace...”

Henry Carter hesitated a little. He didn’t know that Miss Grace was testing his soul perception, nor whether he should point out her mistakes in front of all the other students.

After all, being corrected by your own student in front of the whole class is a pretty embarrassing thing!

“If you see a problem, speak up boldly. The teacher won’t be angry!”

Miss Grace noticed Henry Carter’s hesitation and smiled, gently patting his shoulder in encouragement.

Looking at the encouraging gaze of Miss Grace so close to him, a faint girlish fragrance drifted to his nose. Henry Carter felt his face grow a little hot. After a brief moment of contemplation, he gritted his teeth, stopped hesitating, and pointed to the most obvious of the three mistakes, saying softly, “This divine pattern node... seems to have a problem. The flow of vital energy isn’t smooth enough, so I’m afraid it would be hard to bring out the true power of the Triple Tidal Palm...”

Chapter 5: Soul Perception

Although Henry Carter’s voice wasn’t loud, all the students in the classroom heard him clearly. After a brief silence, the classroom erupted in mocking laughter again.

“Hahaha! Who does Henry Carter think he is? This is the Triple Tidal Palm performed by Miss Grace, and he’s just a one-star apprentice—the most useless person in the class—yet he dares to say there’s a problem with Miss Grace’s technique!”

“Henry Carter is really overestimating himself!”

“Miss Grace encourages him a little and now he’s got his tail up to the sky?” The other students showed no mercy in their ridicule.

“Even if you’ve read a few ancient books, there’s a limit to showing off. Miss Grace is one of the top students in the Genius Class at Nanxing Academy. What right do you have, Henry Carter, to criticize and comment?” Brian Cooper curled his lip, glancing at Henry Carter with extreme disdain and a mocking smile, cursing inwardly that Henry Carter was a complete idiot. How could there possibly be a mistake in the technique performed by Miss Grace?

Even if, by some miracle, there really was a problem with Miss Grace’s technique, for you, Henry Carter, to point it out in front of the whole class—aren’t you just putting Miss Grace on the spot? No matter how good her temper is, she won’t be able to tolerate it this time, right?

Brian Cooper looked at Henry Carter with schadenfreude, thinking that this time Henry Carter had definitely offended Miss Grace.

However, something happened that neither Brian Cooper nor any of the other students could have expected!

“Well said!”

Miss Grace was momentarily stunned, then immediately praised him without reservation, looking at Henry Carter as if she were seeing a rare, unpolished gem.

Angry? How could she possibly be angry?

When Grace Hamilton performed the technique, she had deliberately left a flaw to test Henry Carter’s soul perception. Now that Henry Carter had actually sensed the flaw, she was overjoyed—how could she be angry?

To have such keen soul perception as just a one-star apprentice was truly astonishing! Henry Carter’s talent was quite impressive. With some cultivation, his future prospects would be limitless. Even if he couldn’t become a martial artist, he could still develop into a divine pattern master!

In Qingyue City, one in ten people could become a martial artist, but among tens of millions, there might not even be one divine pattern master! In the entire Qingyue City, there were only three people who could be called divine pattern masters!

Besides creating their own divine techniques, divine pattern masters could also use their powerful soul perception to spot flaws in others’ techniques and help them perfect them. This was an incredible ability, so divine pattern masters were always honored guests among the powerful and influential.

Grace Hamilton couldn’t help but show a trace of joy. She took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing her excitement, and looked at Henry Carter with burning eyes, asking further, “How do you think this mistake should be corrected?”

For Henry Carter to be able to point out the mistake, his soul perception was already far beyond his peers.

Should he tell Miss Grace how to perfect this technique?

Henry Carter frowned slightly. Although he knew how to improve it, if he said it out loud, wouldn’t it be a bit too shocking?

Looking at the stunned faces of the other students, Henry Carter hesitated. The matter of dreaming about that towering divine mountain was something he would never tell anyone. Right now, he just wanted to quietly digest everything he had learned in his dreams and didn’t want too much attention from others.
