Chapter 20

“You are Henry Carter?” The white-robed young man James Parker, with a rebellious look between his brows, strode slowly into the classroom. Staring at the only one left, Brian Cooper, a chilling murderous intent flashed through his deep, dark eyes as he asked coldly.

“No, no, no! Brother James, I’m Brian Cooper. The mentor of Advanced Class Five, Samuel Cooper, is my father. I just wanted to tell you, Henry Carter hasn’t come to the classroom for the past three days—he’s definitely hiding in his dorm. I know where his dorm is!”

Facing the cold expression of James Parker, Brian Cooper put on a fawning smile and hurriedly spoke.

“Mentor Xiao’s son?”

James Parker’s gloomy face eased a little. He was the top disciple of Advanced Class Five and the proud student of Samuel Cooper.

“Miss Grace is our substitute teacher. That bastard Henry Carter not only slept in Miss Grace’s class, but also shouted and made a scene, making Miss Grace angry. In the end, he even—he even said in front of the whole class that the divine art Miss Grace performed was wrong, leaving her embarrassed. I’ve long been fed up with him!”

“If it weren’t for that kid showing talent as a Divine Pattern Master…”

Brian Cooper walked up to James Parker, adding fuel to the fire. But when he mentioned Henry Carter’s talent for becoming a Divine Pattern Master, he suddenly realized he’d said too much and quickly shut his mouth.

Although the Du family was one of the three great families in Qingyue City, Brian Cooper didn’t know whether the Du family would want to provoke someone with the talent of a Divine Pattern Master. If James Parker let Henry Carter off because of his talent, wouldn’t he regret it bitterly? Thinking of this, Brian Cooper realized he had said too much.

“Junior Brian Cooper, I don’t like people who beat around the bush, nor do I like hearing half-finished sentences!”

The white-robed youth James Parker glanced at Brian Cooper, his thick, ink-black brows arching slightly, and said with some displeasure. Unconsciously, a unique martial artist’s pressure enveloped Brian Cooper.

Brian Cooper felt a mountain-like pressure crash down on him, making it hard to breathe. He staggered back three or four steps before steadying himself, breaking out in a cold sweat, and looked at James Parker with even more awe.

“Y-yes!” In front of James Parker, Brian Cooper immediately became meek and submissive.

“Brother James, that kid Henry Carter had some dumb luck and happened to answer Miss Grace’s question about Divine Pattern knowledge correctly. Miss Grace thinks he has the talent to become a Divine Pattern Master, so after class, she took him away. That’s all I know… If you want to go to Henry Carter’s dorm, I can show you the way!” Brian Cooper glanced at the uncertain expression on James Parker’s face, rolled his eyes, and added cautiously, “The academy is on holiday today, so no one is guarding the dorms!”

“Lead the way!” James Parker nodded in satisfaction, walked up to Brian Cooper, and patted him on the shoulder. “At Nanxing Academy, if anyone gives you trouble, just mention my name!” He thought to himself, as the son of Mentor Samuel Cooper, this kid really knows how to play along.

“Yes!”

Brian Cooper, flattered by the attention, nodded hurriedly. Although both his parents were mentors at Nanxing Academy, there were many things among students that mentors couldn’t interfere with. James Parker was not only a direct descendant of the Du family, but also a martial artist ranked fifteenth on the Nanxing Ranking. He was the perfect backer.

As Brian Cooper led the way, he thought smugly to himself, bringing James Parker and the others to Henry Carter’s dorm.

“This is Henry Carter’s dorm!”

Arriving at the dorm entrance, Brian Cooper pointed to a room with a tightly closed door and spoke to the white-robed youth James Parker.

James Parker said nothing, just nodded slightly, and signaled with his eyes for the group of advanced class students behind him to open the door. Nanxing Academy forbade anyone from barging into students’ dorms, but since it was a holiday today, there were no mentors around!

Bang!

A burly advanced class student with the strength of an eight-star apprentice stepped forward, raised his fist as big as a sandbag, and smashed it hard against the door of Henry Carter’s dorm.

Boom!

With a deep rumble, the door broke open. The simple, empty room with only a wooden bed and a wooden desk appeared before everyone.

“No one’s here?”

Brian Cooper was dumbfounded—Henry Carter wasn’t in the dorm!

“Smash it for me!”

Looking at the empty room, James Parker’s face grew even darker as he snarled viciously.

“Yes!”

Immediately, the group of advanced class students began to wreck the place. In no time, Henry Carter’s dorm was smashed to pieces, the simple room left in utter chaos.

But even so, James Parker still felt extremely unsatisfied. In the end, he ordered everyone to urinate on Henry Carter’s bedding before finally leading the group away.

Chapter Fourteen The Carter Family

After James Parker and his group finished smashing up Henry Carter’s dorm and urinating on his bedding, they left.

Several hours later, Henry Carter walked under the scattered starlight to the front gate of the The Carter Family residence.

The The Carter Family wasn’t much in the whole of Qingyue City, but in this southwestern corner, it was considered a wealthy and prominent family. The residence covered a hundred acres, with open terrain, vermilion gates, bright copper rings, a pair of imposing stone lions at the entrance, and four sharp-eyed, well-dressed guards standing at the door.
