“Grace’s technique really did have a flaw, and it must have been left there on purpose by Grace, but Henry Carter actually managed to point out exactly what was wrong…” The students in the class stared blankly at Henry Carter, murmuring in disbelief.
As students of Southstar Academy, even if they were only in the beginner class, they knew very well what it meant for Henry Carter to be able to identify a flaw in a divine technique!
Only those with extremely strong soul perception could sense the flow of elemental force and detect errors within a divine technique!
Brian Cooper clenched his fists tightly, his eyes bloodshot. Even though he kept telling himself that Henry Carter just got lucky and guessed right, the flames of jealousy still burned fiercely within him.
“No! That’s impossible! There’s no way Henry Carter could have the talent to become a Divine Inscription Master!”
“Luck! It must be luck! Like a blind cat stumbling upon a dead mouse, Henry Carter must have just guessed it by chance! He’s a loser! The most notorious loser in all of Southstar Academy—how could he possibly have the talent to become a Divine Inscription Master?”
Brian Cooper knew very well the status of a Divine Inscription Master. Even if Henry Carter’s soul sea talent was the lowest red grade, as long as Henry Carter became a Divine Inscription Master, even the vice dean and dean of Southstar Academy would treat Henry Carter with utmost respect! And Divine Inscription Masters were the ones most likely to break through the limitations of the soul sea!
A loser suddenly becoming a genius with the potential to become a Divine Inscription Master, rising above him—such a drastic reversal was something Brian Cooper simply could not accept.
“Henry Carter actually has the talent to become a Divine Inscription Master… I’m finished, I’m doomed. I’ve bullied Henry Carter so much before—will he take revenge on me?” One of the tall students looked hesitant, deciding that he’d better apologize to Henry Carter after class.
The wrath of a Divine Inscription Master—not to mention himself, even his entire family couldn’t withstand it!
“It’s all that bastard Brian Cooper’s fault! If it weren’t for him, how would I have offended Henry Carter?” the tall student muttered gloomily.
After Henry Carter displayed his keen soul perception, his status in the eyes of the class immediately surpassed that of Brian Cooper.
So what if you’re the top student in Beginner Class Three? So what if you’re a five-star apprentice? So what if your parents are instructors in the advanced class? Compared to a Divine Inscription Master, all of that is meaningless!
Just by showing the potential to become a Divine Inscription Master, the way the students looked at Henry Carter was already filled with awe… One could imagine just how high the status of a Divine Inscription Master was in this world!
Several female students who had never paid any attention to Henry Carter before suddenly realized that he was actually quite handsome and charming, and a ripple stirred in their hearts.
Although Henry Carter’s family background wasn’t particularly noble, everything was about to change. Now that Henry Carter had demonstrated enough talent, it probably wouldn’t be long before a Divine Inscription Master took notice of him. Even if he only became a disciple of a Divine Inscription Master, his status and position would be completely different.
Standing on the podium, feeling the burning gazes of everyone in the class, Henry Carter curled his lips into a self-mocking smile and shook his head helplessly. Although a few of the girls in the class were quite pretty and their looks toward him seemed to carry a different meaning, he had absolutely no interest.
Henry Carter was already used to seeing the snobbish faces of these people. In the whole class, there were only a handful who could truly be called his friends.
Henry Carter recalled a saying his father had taught him: When you’re wealthy, not everyone who stays by your side is a true gentleman; but when you’re in hardship, everyone who stays is genuine.
A true friend will never look down on you when you’re at your lowest.
Grace Hamilton saw that Henry Carter still hadn’t answered her question and sighed inwardly. Perfecting a divine technique was indeed a bit too difficult for a one-star apprentice. The fact that Henry Carter could sense the flaws in the divine inscription structure showed he had the talent to become a Divine Inscription Master, but it was only talent—whether he could truly become a lofty Divine Inscription Master was still uncertain.
If Henry Carter could, through perception, vaguely point out the direction for improvement, then his chances of becoming a Divine Inscription Master would be much greater.
Mastering divine inscription knowledge and sensing flaws in divine techniques were only the basics. The task of a Divine Inscription Master was to perfect divine techniques, or even create new ones!
If Henry Carter could perfect a divine technique, wouldn’t that mean he had truly become a Divine Inscription Master? Grace Hamilton thought to herself that she was being too impatient. Henry Carter had already shown extraordinary talent, and he could still learn how to perfect divine techniques in the future.
Chapter Six: Three Mistakes
Seeing that Henry Carter still hadn’t answered, Grace Hamilton asked again with anticipation, “How do you think this divine technique should be improved?” Grace Hamilton really hoped Henry Carter could give her an answer.
“Well…” Henry Carter was thinking about how to muddle through.
Dong—dong—dong—
Just as Henry Carter was hesitating, a deep bell suddenly rang out.
Class was over!
Henry Carter secretly breathed a sigh of relief and grinned at Grace Hamilton.
“Miss Grace, class is over. Let’s discuss this question next time, okay?” Henry Carter scratched the back of his head and smiled.
Class was over, so he didn’t have to worry anymore. Grace Hamilton was only a substitute teacher, and she had only taught a handful of times, which meant Henry Carter had successfully dodged a bullet!
