Hunter Carter had no choice but to shift the topic to what she was most interested in—Lie Feng: “You seem to have deep feelings for Lie Feng?”
Emily Foster nodded, her eyes turning red. “Lie Feng is a keepsake my mommy left me. Before she passed, she told me I must take good care of Lie Feng, to treat him like my own brother. Now, seeing him like this, I feel so sad…”
Hunter Carter seized the moment, handed a tissue to Emily Foster, and took the opportunity to hold Emily Foster’s delicate, boneless little hand. “Miss Foster, don’t worry. I will definitely cure Lie Feng for you.”
Emily Foster nodded gratefully and tried to pull her hand back from Hunter Carter’s grasp. She tried twice but didn’t succeed, and her pretty face flushed red. “You really aren’t behaving yourself.”
Hunter Carter let go of Emily Foster’s slender hand with a smile. “Sorry, I tend to lose my composure when I see a beautiful girl. Please forgive me, Miss Foster.”
Looking at the man in front of her, whose smile was as bright as sunshine, Emily Foster suddenly recalled everything that happened with him last night. Her heart began to race, and Hunter Carter’s brazen gaze made her feel a certain danger approaching. She lowered her head in panic. “Let’s go back!”
At noon, the entire pet hospital was empty. Hunter Carter and Emily Foster came to the door of the isolation room. Looking inside through the window, Emily Foster instinctively let out a scream, and her pretty face instantly turned red to the tips of her ears.
Hunter Carter looked inside.
Hunter Carter started laughing. The effect of the Supurun medicine was indeed strong. He had just increased Lie Feng’s dosage by twenty percent. Even a bear would be aroused by that, let alone a little dog weighing less than a hundred pounds.
“Hurry… separate them…” In her panic, Emily Foster actually made such a baffling request.
Hunter Carter shook his head. “I don’t have that kind of ability. He’s in the middle of it right now—anyone who interrupts him would become his enemy. Besides, his anatomy is completely different from a human’s. It’s not something you can just separate at will.”
Hunter Carter quietly moved closer to Emily Foster and whispered, “Why don’t we go to the back and continue discussing Lie Feng’s condition?”
His hand pressed flat against Emily Foster’s waist.
This only encouraged Hunter Carter’s actions further. Emily Foster grabbed Hunter Carter. “You really aren’t a good person!” Yet in her heart, she felt a strange thrill.
“It’s only because Miss Foster is too beautiful. Even a law-abiding citizen like me can’t help but want to commit a crime.”
“Criminals usually get punished. Aren’t you, a repeat offender, ever afraid?” Emily Foster’s delicate body went limp in Hunter Carter’s arms.
“To die under a beauty’s skirt, even as a ghost I’d be romantic…” The sound of Lie Feng’s joyful howling echoed in her ears, and a strong sense of excitement filled her heart…
No one knew how much time had passed.
There was a polite knock at the door. Hunter Carter turned his head in surprise—at a time like this, no one should be visiting.
At some point, the door that had been locked was now open. A middle-aged man in a wheelchair sat quietly, watching the scene before him. His eyes were sorrowful and melancholy, but there was no trace of anger.
Emily Foster’s pretty face instantly lost all color; she even lost the strength to put her clothes back on. Hunter Carter reacted quickly, trying to move away from Emily Foster’s body.
But then a cold, hoarse voice said, “Don’t move. Let me enjoy the view for a while.”
Hunter Carter obediently lay on top of Emily Foster, not daring to move, because he saw that the middle-aged man was holding a gun.
Hunter Carter cursed inwardly, blaming his own overactive male hormones. Now he’d been caught red-handed, and his mind was in chaos. Was this woman named Emily Foster deliberately setting a trap for him?
Hunter Carter quickly steadied himself. “What do you want? Name your price. As long as it’s within my means, I’ll satisfy you!”
The middle-aged man burst out laughing, his face showing a cold murderous intent. “Hunter Carter, you don’t seem to know who I am? My name is William Longman, Emily Foster!”
Hunter Carter’s mind went blank with a buzz. In this country, there were few who didn’t know William Longman. He was the leader of the nation’s largest syndicate, the Black Eagle Hall, known as the Black Cloud Demon. And now, he’d slept with his woman and been caught in the act. Scenes of his own miserable death flashed before Hunter Carter’s eyes. If he’d known in advance that Emily Foster was William Longman’s woman, he wouldn’t have dared touch her even if he had the courage of a bear or a leopard.
William Longman maneuvered his wheelchair in front of them, looked at Emily Foster with a cold smile, and gently stroked Emily Foster’s purple-red curls, speaking tenderly: “Emily, why didn’t you let me see such a wonderful scene sooner? You know I haven’t seen your wild side in so long.” Emily Foster’s delicate body trembled in fear. “Uncle Longman… I was wrong…”
“Silly child, when have I ever blamed you? You’re still young, of course you have needs. Do you expect to spend your whole life with an old man like me?” The gentler William Longman’s tone became, the more frightened Emily Foster felt.
Hunter Carter tried to move away from Emily Foster’s body, but William Longman pointed the gun at his head. “Thank you!”
Hunter Carter could hardly believe his ears. He’d slept with the man’s woman, and yet the man was thanking him? How could there be such a thing in this world?
