The information revealed that in 2027, not long after the US conducted its first space jump experiment, space telescopes in several countries detected an anomaly outside the solar system: a fragment of a star with an astonishing mass was hurtling toward the solar system at incredible speed. This fragment wasn’t very large, but its mass was several times that of Earth—suspected to be a remnant of a neutron star.

Based on its speed and trajectory, this neutron star fragment would crash into the sun in the spring of 2030, which could cause the sun to erupt with violent pillars of flame, and might even trigger drastic changes throughout the solar system. And, most unfortunately, Earth happened to be within the range of the sun’s erupting flames.

This would be true extinction!

It’s not something that could be solved by digging huge holes underground and hiding for decades, nor could humanity’s seed be preserved by fleeing to Mars. This would likely be an extinction-level catastrophe for humanity—no, not just humanity, but possibly the total destruction of Earth itself!

In this situation, the only possible chance of survival would be to use the space jump technology invented by the Americans to get far away from the solar system, travel into outer space, and find a planet where survival might be possible. That would be humanity’s only chance to continue.

But by then, the world’s leaders had already collectively disappeared. And according to various leaked information, these leaders had been secretly building spaceships—just like in that sci-fi movie “2012” years ago: secretly, hidden from the public, with only the powerful and the rich having the right to board these giant ships. These high-level people really did it—they abandoned billions of their fellow humans on Earth and escaped on their own!

Nearly seven billion people living on Earth had completely lost hope. They had neither the scientific technology nor the authority to rally people to build spaceships. What’s more, there was no time left. It was already the summer of 2029, with about eight months left before the entire Earth would be destroyed. What awaited everyone... was only destruction!
