Chapter 2

The reason for guessing that this was amber was because its color was a pale yellow, and inside it was a small insect, very similar to a piece of amber he had seen in sixth grade.

At that time, their textbook had a lesson called "Amber," and when the Chinese teacher taught it, she brought a piece of amber to class.

This crystal made him recall some beautiful moments from his childhood. He remembered the teacher saying that amber containing a small insect was very precious.

Unfortunately, this one had already cracked, which made him regretful. Otherwise, if he sold it, it might have been enough for two months of living expenses.

The crystal was badly broken. When he picked it up, it had already shattered, and the purple insect inside was exposed.

The insect looked similar to a locust, about two centimeters long, with a strange appearance. It had compound eyes like a locust, but only two legs under its belly, with odd patterns on them. There were no wings on its back, making it look very clumsy.

David Thompson had never seen this kind of insect before. He curiously held it up, wanting to see it clearly.

At that moment, something bizarre happened: the insect's claw suddenly moved, then it quickly regained vitality, wriggled its body, and broke free from his fingers.

Before he could react, the insect jumped onto his palm, lowered its head, and then slowly, bit by bit, burrowed into his palm!

David Thompson was scared out of his wits—he really wanted to pee!

The fact that the insect in the amber had come back to life was already terrifying, but then this thing, just like an alien, forcibly burrowed into his palm and turned into something like a tattoo...

With a scream, he stumbled and ran into the house, shouting, "Hannah, call 911! Help, there's a bug burrowing into my hand!"

His scream was probably too shrill, because when Hannah came out, her expression was panicked: "What? What bug?"

David Thompson opened his hand to show her: "This one, the bug in my palm!"

Hannah looked completely confused: "The bug in your palm? There's no bug in your palm!"

Not only was there a bug, but it was still moving. After burrowing into David Thompson's palm, it seemed unwilling to stay put, and now it started burrowing out again, with half its body sticking out.

David Thompson pointed at the bug that was crawling out, exclaiming in terror, "This one, this one, the purple locust—can't you see it?"

Immediately, Hannah's expression became even more terrified than his. The girl slowly backed away and said, "Li, I know the school being shut down is hard for you to accept, but I think you're a warrior, a tough guy..."

David Thompson interrupted her, shouting, "I know what you mean—you think I'm crazy! But I'm not crazy, Hannah! It's just that I can't go to school, that's all, I'm not going to lose my mind..."

"Shit, the bug is coming out again!"

Just as he was shouting hoarsely, the insect slowly crawled out of his skin and jumped to the ground. It lifted its upper body, supporting itself with its two legs, and started walking on the ground like a person.

Coincidentally, it landed right next to a drain. The insect didn't notice and walked over, falling straight in.

Seeing this, David Thompson was overjoyed and said, "Great, the bug fell into the drain."

Instinctively, a thought popped into his mind: what's in the drain? Could there be sewage that would drown the bug?

But then, something unbelievable happened!

Chapter 0002 New Perspective

Just as the thought "let's see if the bug got drowned" appeared in his mind, his vision suddenly shifted, and everything in front of him became dim.

He had been standing at the entrance of the small building, where he should have seen the street, mailboxes, and trash cans. But now, what he saw was a long row of thick iron bars!

The scene was so bizarre that he was stunned.

Turning his head in shock, he saw that he was surrounded by granite walls covered in moss, as if he had been locked in a huge stone cell.

And around him were some gigantic leaves, huge stones, a giant table knife, and a huge packaging box. On the packaging box was a giant smiling old man with a white beard—this was a KFC burger box!

Then he understood: it wasn't that these things had become huge, but that he had become small.

David Thompson looked down and saw that he was standing on a bottle cap. Next to him was a piece of broken glass, and using its reflection, he saw his own appearance:

He looked like a locust, with a purple-black chitinous shell, huge compound eyes, and two legs...

But this wasn't him—it was the insect that had burrowed into his palm earlier!

In other words, this wasn't his own vision, but the insect's vision!

"How could this be? What's wrong with my eyes?" David Thompson thought in panic.

As soon as this thought appeared, his vision blurred, and Hannah's worried and frightened face appeared before his eyes—he was back to normal.

Sensing that something was wrong with him, Hannah cautiously asked, "Li, are you... are you okay? Do you need me to call 911?"

David Thompson felt a little tired, so he waved his hand and said, "Oh, no need, thank you, Hannah. I was probably just overthinking and got a little worked up. I'm much better now."

Hearing this, Hannah quickly made the sign of the cross over her ample chest: "Thank God, you need to get some rest!"
