Chapter 2

Older sister must like me, right? Otherwise, why hasn’t she accepted anyone’s advances all these years? Maybe she’s also afraid of society’s judgment.

And after she overheard me talking in my sleep that day, her face was flushed with shyness and joy for several days.

Midnight has arrived!

As expected, the meteor shower reached its peak, and a dreamlike scene appeared—over a dozen meteors streaked across the sky, leaving glowing trails.

Logan Bennett stood in front of the DV camera, with his back to the meteor shower, and began his confession.

He had actually prepared three versions, each incredibly romantic and heartfelt.

But now, he was so nervous he could die—he forgot everything, and couldn’t recall a single word.

Even though he was confessing to a camera, Logan Bennett was as nervous as if he were really standing in front of his sister. Not even when Travis Cooper dressed up to buy chemical toxins from a small factory thousands of miles away had he been this nervous.

But the meteor shower would be gone in a flash. Logan Bennett took a deep breath and said, “Sister… Lauren Bennett, I love you, marry me. I swear to the meteors, I will take care of you for a lifetime, and make you happy…”

At that moment, a particularly bright meteor, glowing with golden light and seemingly carrying a strange energy, flew from the horizon, getting closer and closer to Logan Bennett.

“Boom…”

Just as Logan Bennett finished his confession, that strange meteor struck him directly on the head.

In an instant, Logan Bennett was reduced to ashes, his entire body vanishing without a trace.

A few days later, Logan Bennett’s university reported that the third-year student Logan Bennett was missing. When the police went to Logan Bennett’s home, they found that his sister Lauren Bennett was also nowhere to be found. There was a volleyball-sized hole in the wall of the house, with marks of extreme heat scorching its edges.

After that, the disappearance of Logan Bennett and Lauren Bennett was immediately classified as a top-secret case, and all records of the two in this world were completely erased.

……

When Logan Bennett woke up again, he was already in a strange world. He was still on a mountain, but it was definitely not the one where he had filmed the meteor shower.

Moreover, many of the plants here were unrecognizable to Logan Bennett.

Most crucially, at night, he saw two moons in the sky, one large and one small. At first, he thought he was seeing things, but after rubbing his eyes hard, there were still two moons.

At this point, he still thought it was a unique astronomical phenomenon. But during the day, he saw an animal that completely shattered this hopeful thought.

Because he saw a griffin—a gigantic griffin beast flying high in the sky. Such a creature doesn’t exist on Earth, only in legends.

Next, he saw another beautiful yet extremely timid animal—a unicorn!

So, he was completely certain that he had crossed into another world.

That meteor had struck him and brought him to this unfamiliar place.

Immediately, Logan Bennett could not accept the fact that he had transmigrated; he was on the verge of a complete breakdown.

He desperately searched all over the mountain, trying to find a portal back to Earth. Because on Earth, there was still the person he loved most. He still wanted to propose to his sister, take care of her for a lifetime, and have two or three children with her.

And there was that rich second-generation guy—he still needed to take him out.

“Damn heavens, damn you! Send me back, send me back!”

Logan Bennett frantically searched for a portal that didn’t exist, cursing the heavens all the while.

After ten days of this madness, he gradually realized that he probably could never go back—he would never return.

He began to despair, found a cave, and lay there motionless. Every moment, he missed his sister.

He missed every look she gave him, every expression, every word she had ever said to him.

Each scene played in his mind like a movie. In these memories, he became completely certain that his sister loved him. That look in her eyes, that tone of voice—it was all there, only he had been too naive to understand before.

And once, when he secretly kissed and touched her while she was sleeping, her cheeks turned red. He had just fooled himself into thinking she was asleep and didn’t know what he was doing.

Recalling these moments, Logan Bennett felt both incredibly sweet and unbearably pained.

In this mix of pain and sweetness, the utterly exhausted Logan Bennett finally fell into a deep sleep. It seemed that only in sleep could this pain be eased.

Maybe, he could even have a good dream.

……

Logan Bennett fell into an unprecedentedly deep sleep, and gradually, it was as if he truly entered a mysterious dream.

In the world of the dream, there was first complete darkness, then a faint light appeared.

This light flickered gently, filled with a mysterious energy, pulsing softly as if breathing, as if it were alive.

Logan Bennett carefully observed this strange, mysterious ball of energy.

“Hello, my new host.” The ball of energy actually spoke—not with sound, but by directly interfering with Logan Bennett’s brainwaves, injecting its consciousness into his mind.

Logan Bennett was startled and said, “Who are you?”
