The only difference was their clothing—one wore a tight black leather outfit, the other a tight red leather outfit. But their figures were exactly the same, both boasting nearly devilish curves. Even on Earth, Logan Bennett had rarely seen such stunning bodies: strong, slender, supermodel legs, astonishingly prominent chests, waists as lithe as a snake, and remarkably round, perky hips that made it impossible to look directly at them.
When Logan Bennett woke up, the woman in black immediately pressed her curved blade against his neck and said coldly, “Speak. Say something.”
The woman in red said anxiously, “Hurry up and say something. As long as you can speak the Central Land language, it means you’re not a barbarian, and my sister won’t kill you.”
By all rights, Logan Bennett should have been doomed. After all, he was from Earth and didn’t know any so-called Central Land language.
But… the so-called Central Land language they spoke turned out to be exactly the same as Chinese. Although the accent was a bit different, Logan Bennett could easily understand every word.
This—this isn’t normal! After all, this was another world, with two moons, griffins, unicorns, and all sorts of fantastical elements. It was nothing like ancient Earth.
Languages in any world should be different, yet these women were speaking Chinese. What was going on? Could it be a coincidence? There’s no way it could be such a coincidence.
“Sure enough, you’re a barbarian. Die.” The woman in black said coldly, her curved blade suddenly about to slash down.
“I’m not a barbarian!” Logan Bennett quickly spoke up.
The woman in black immediately stopped her blade, looking at Logan Bennett in surprise.
“Sis, I told you he’s not a barbarian. His Central Land language is even more standard than ours,” said the woman in red.
The woman in black stared intently at Logan Bennett and said, “You—say something else, anything at all.”
The woman in red said, “Sis, just one more sentence will prove it.”
“I’m not a barbarian. Who are you?” Logan Bennett asked.
After hearing Logan Bennett’s second sentence, the younger sister also looked at him in astonishment and said, “Sis, his… his voice sounds a lot like the young master’s.”
“That’s right…” The woman in black was breathing heavily, then her curved blade flashed like lightning.
Logan Bennett suddenly felt a chill on his face, saw a flurry of blade light before his eyes, and then all the messy stubble on his face fell away, revealing a smooth, clean face.
At this moment, the two twin female warriors were completely stunned, staring at Logan Bennett’s face in disbelief.
“Not only does his voice sound like the young master’s, but he even looks a lot like him,” the younger sister said.
“Could this… could this be fate? Is Heaven not going to let the Suo family perish?” the woman in black said, her voice trembling.
“What do you mean by that?” Logan Bennett asked.
The woman in black didn’t answer, but pointed to Logan Bennett’s side.
Only then did Logan Bennett notice that there was actually a coffin on the carriage, and that the two sisters had been escorting this coffin all along.
“We are samurai retainers of the Suo family. Our master, Earl Norton, has died. The young lady sent us to the Demon Mountain Range to find Young Master Norton to inherit the title, but all we found was his corpse,” the woman in black said. “So, we’ve been traveling thousands of miles to bring the coffin back to the count’s mansion in the royal city, and on the way, we found you, barely alive.”
With that, the woman in black directly lifted the coffin lid, revealing the corpse inside.
Because of some kind of medicine, the corpse was very well preserved, with no sign of decay.
Logan Bennett could see clearly that the person lying inside looked very much like himself—at least eighty percent similar—though much more handsome. As for the body, by eye, the height was almost exactly the same as his own.
Logan Bennett was truly astonished. After crossing into another world, he actually found someone who looked so much like him—and that person was already dead.
“What’s your name?” the woman in black asked.
“Logan Bennett.” Logan Bennett replied.
“Where is your home? Why are you here?” the woman in black asked.
“I… don’t know where my home is,” Logan Bennett hesitated for a moment and said. He had crossed over, so it was really hard to explain his origins.
The woman in black was silent for a moment, then said, “Logan Bennett, life is the most precious thing for everyone. I believe it’s no exception for you, right?”
Logan Bennett nodded.
The woman in black said, “And I saved your life, so you should repay me, right?”
Logan Bennett already knew what she was going to say, and for a moment, he didn’t know how to answer.
The woman in black said, “That’s right, you need to repay my life-saving grace. So, I want you to impersonate Young Master Norton and go to the royal city to inherit the title.”
This was all too sudden. Logan Bennett opened his mouth, not knowing what to say. After a while, he finally said, “Even though I look like him, I’m not exactly the same. People will still be able to tell the difference.”
The woman in black said, “Don’t worry, I have a way to make you look exactly like him.”
“But… but…” Logan Bennett wanted to refuse, but didn’t know what to say.
The woman in black said, “Logan Bennett, I don’t know your background, but I can tell you’re not from a wealthy family. Your life has been rather difficult and poor, hasn’t it?”
