Although he couldn't see it, right now James Grant was certain that something had just burrowed into his body.
His head felt like it was splitting open! James Grant couldn't help but let out a loud scream, his whole body convulsing, his bloodshot eyes nearly bulging out of their sockets. In that instant, his mind was flooded with countless things—things James Grant had never known before.
The pain quickly subsided, but James Grant still had the illusion that it was continuing, as if the agony lingered on.
In just a brief moment, his entire clothing was soaked with sweat. Young Master Grant stared upward with wide eyes, gasping for breath, his chest heaving, his throat burning, and two sticky trails ran down from his nose into his mouth, the metallic salty taste spreading across his tongue.
He was bleeding! Would it hurt a lot? A ridiculous thought flashed through James Grant's mind.
For more than ten years, this was the first time James Grant had ever bled.
A hurried, pleasant yet rapid voice sounded in James Grant's ears, exactly the same as before.
The darkness before his eyes gradually faded, and James Grant's vision slowly returned.
But when Young Master Grant saw the bright sky, he was stunned.
Hadn't he fallen into a sewer? How could he be seeing a scene like this?
James Grant turned his somewhat stiff head toward the source of the voice.
With just one glance, James Grant was completely dumbfounded.
Could there really be such a beautiful woman in this world?
Her green hair cascaded down to just above her knees, smooth and silky, with short bangs across her forehead. Her petite, round face radiated an indescribable cuteness, and her large eyes were filled with confusion, fear, and anticipation. Even a few blades of grass clung to her long lashes, making her look even more endearing.
She wasn't wearing any fancy dresses or bright clothes, but was clad in some kind of brown animal hide!
That's right, animal hide! James Grant could tell.
The tight animal hide perfectly outlined the girl's delicate curves before James Grant's eyes. Her chest, rising and falling rapidly with tension, was proud and upright—not large, but graceful and elegant.
The animal hide wrapped around her waist was torn in several places, revealing glimpses of her fair, slender thighs to James Grant. He could even see the base of her thighs...
The girl held a small, curved bow in her hands. The smudges of dirt on her face did nothing to hide her beauty; combined with the animal hide, they gave her a wild, alluring charm.
“Danger!” The girl shouted at James Grant in panic.
Before James Grant could react, the ground suddenly shook violently. Lying on the ground, James Grant was caught off guard, bounced high into the air, and then crashed back down, landing face-first in the dirt.
“Blocky squares!” James Grant cursed angrily, spitting out the fragrant earth from his mouth and pushing himself up with his hands.
The previous weakness had completely vanished. James Grant suddenly felt as if he possessed boundless strength, an unknown power surging through his body, crashing around inside him.
“Hurry up and kill it! If you don't act now, we'll both die here!” the green-haired girl shouted at James Grant again, her panic written all over her delicate face.
James Grant was utterly confused! Kill who?
Before he could ask, a strong gust of wind suddenly swept toward the back of his head.
He saw a monster about ten meters tall, its eyes gleaming with ferocity, drool dripping from its mouth, falling to the ground in thick drops. Its furry body radiated explosive power, and the muscles on its thick limbs bulged menacingly.
King Kong? Only this thought flashed through James Grant's mind. This monster looked just like the creature from a movie—a towering, ferocious, mutated gorilla that made him feel utterly powerless to resist.
Chapter Two: Fifth-Tier Magical Beast—Gorilla
“Roar~~~” The monster, seeing that it hadn't struck James Grant, opened its huge mouth and let out a threatening roar at him. The deafening sound made James Grant's eardrums tremble, and the monster's exposed fangs gleamed with a silvery sheen. James Grant nearly bit off his own tongue.
The surrounding leaves rustled as if they, too, were about to collapse under the monster's pressure.
“Damn! What the hell is that?” Young Master Grant no longer had the leisure to admire the beauty. He dashed over to the green-haired girl's side and asked.
James Grant's legs were shaking! Anyone who saw such a monster would probably feel the same.
“Gorilla! A fifth-tier magical beast, possessing immense strength and tough defenses.” The girl explained in her usual rapid tone.
James Grant felt his face twitching!
A fifth-tier magical beast? He glanced at the girl; the serious panic on her face didn't look like someone who had just read too many novels.
A chill ran from his head to his toes, and James Grant felt like he was starting to make sense of the situation.
Escape? Who could possibly outrun this monster? He could run five steps, and it would catch up in just one.
No matter what, this so-called Gorilla in front of him had to be killed, or else he'd end up as its meal. Looking at those terrifying fangs, James Grant had no doubt it could bite him in half with a single snap.
