"Nothing... really." Monica Morton slowly shook her head, then brought the wild fruit to her mouth, nibbling at it in tiny bites, taking a long time just to chew off one edge.
Graham Riley sniffed around again, poking its head over inquisitively. James Grant picked up the cigarette butt that was now just a stub, flicked it hard, and hit the gorilla squarely on the forehead.
The gorilla jumped back in a panic, its two fat paws comically covering its head, bumping into a big tree, sending leaves rustling down.
Seeing this, Monica Morton couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"The miracle of magic..." the little girl sighed, "It seems like Graham Riley is actually quite afraid of you."
James Grant didn't respond. Seeing the look of admiration in the girl's eyes, he felt a bit smug.
"Graham Riley doesn't sound good!" After a while, James Grant shook his head, putting on a mysterious air.
"Every master has the right to rename their own magical pet. What do you want to call it?"
"King Kong!" James Grant had already thought of the name.
"That's a mighty name." Monica Morton nodded.
The aroma in the woods grew even richer. Oil dripped from one side of the wild deer's body, falling onto the crackling flames and making a sizzling sound.
Monica Morton's stomach started growling again, and James Grant was also getting hungry.
No longer caring about the heat, Young Master Qin tore off a meaty hind leg, picked a few large leaves from a nearby tree to wrap it in, and handed it to the little girl.
This time, the girl didn't hold back—she was probably starving. With the leaves wrapped around it, the freshly roasted leg wasn't too hot, but as soon as it reached her mouth, she could feel the heat.
Monica Morton quietly tore off a piece of meat with her teeth, her small mouth suddenly stuffed full, unable to swallow or spit it out, making James Grant burst out laughing.
James Grant didn't feel the heat at all—maybe it was because of the power of the Moon Goddess. While the little girl was still gnawing, Young Master Qin had already finished off an entire hind leg, making Monica Morton look at him with envy.
King Kong had been wary of James Grant's intimidation, sitting under a tree and not daring to come over, but the increasingly strong aroma drove its instincts, and it tentatively took a few steps closer.
James Grant twisted his big butt to block King Kong's view, munching away with oil dripping from his mouth, while tearing off another piece of meat to hand to the little girl.
"You should be nicer to your magical pet!" Monica Morton scolded James Grant with a glare, then handed over the half-eaten hind leg in her hand.
"Roar, roar..." King Kong immediately jumped to Monica Morton's side, took the hind leg, and excitedly stuffed it into its mouth, swallowing it whole without even chewing.
It then looked pitifully at the other piece of meat in the pretty girl's hand...
Seeing this, James Grant curled his lips—this guy's stomach is so big, no matter how much you give it, it'll never be enough.
Monica Morton licked the oil from her lips, looked at King Kong, then at the meat in her hand, and finally handed it over.
"Didn't it almost kill you just now?" James Grant teased Monica Morton, tearing off another piece of meat and placing it on the leaves she was holding.
"Every magical pet's taming involves a thrilling battle—it's inevitable." Monica Morton smiled slightly. "A great magician should have a broad mind and admirable courage."
That last sentence was clearly a rebuke to James Grant for mistreating animals, but James Grant didn't care. This little girl was so silly, it was kind of cute.
I never said I wouldn't feed it—at least let me fill my own stomach first.
"In future battles, your magical pet will be your most indispensable and trustworthy companion..."
The little girl still wasn't done. James Grant rolled his eyes and stared straight at Monica Morton's animal skin wrapped around her waist, mumbling, "Your clothes are torn!"
Monica Morton followed James Grant's gaze downward and saw that the animal skin was already hanging in tatters around her waist. Although it covered most of her body, her fair skin and thighs were still visible.
Monica Morton quickly bent her legs, turned to the side, her face blushing as red as a monkey's bottom.
Only the crackling of the campfire and James Grant's wanton, lecherous laughter remained in the forest.
Chapter 8: The Seemingly Lewd Dark Elf
The forest at night was very cold. Even though James Grant had spread a thick layer of earth over the campfire, it still couldn't block the steep mountain wind.
Monica Morton curled up, shivering.
James Grant took off his shirt again and draped it over her. Above the two of them was a thick layer of black fur.
The area left by the campfire was really too small, so the two had to sleep side by side.
However, Monica Morton always kept a proper distance from James Grant's body.
King Kong's two eyes glowed green in the darkness, sitting nearby, picking its nose while keeping watch.
James Grant was now extremely impressed by his so-called magical pet's freakish healing ability. With most of a wooden stake stuck in its nasal cavity, the injury must have been severe, but after just half a day, a scab had already formed in that huge nostril, and the external wound seemed almost healed.
