Chapter 7

"You go to hell! You should know better than me what kind of person you are, right? Here’s your card back, I don’t want your filthy money!" Grace Carter shot David Hamilton a glance, pulled out the bank card he had given her, and tossed it onto the car seat.

"The bank card is innocent, you know. Why are you taking your anger out on it? Hurry up and keep it safe!" David Hamilton bared his teeth in a sinister grin. "If you don’t take the money, I’ll break off the engagement with you!" This was his ultimate weapon—David Hamilton didn’t believe Grace Carter would really dare to oppose him.

Sure enough, tears welled up in Grace Carter’s big, angry eyes, almost spilling over as she complained, "You… you just love bullying me!" Even so, she still ended up putting the card away.

"You’d even turn down a windfall from the sky. I really don’t get what you’re thinking, refusing money when it’s handed to you." David Hamilton talked tough, but in truth, he was nervous inside. He wasn’t even sure what his relationship with Grace Carter was supposed to be. Since he was new here, his top priority was his own safety, so he had to avoid giving himself away at all costs. The best way was to stick to things he was confident about. "Come out shopping with me later. Even though you don’t really like doing this kind of thing, since you’re out with me, you should at least humor me a little, right?" Most importantly, David Hamilton felt very unfamiliar with this world, so he needed someone who knew the ropes. Otherwise, it would be easy to slip up.

"Don’t you have any ambitions?" Grace Carter sniffled her cute little nose. Though she sounded angry, at least this time she didn’t flat-out refuse. "Is there really nothing else you can do besides wasting money?"

"At the moment, there really isn’t much else to do." David Hamilton chuckled, then suddenly changed the subject. "Actually, wasting money is a skill, you know. You think it’s easy? You’re wrong. For example, what’s the most extravagant way you can think of to blow money tonight? It’s got to be at least a hundred thousand to start with."

Chapter 0004: The Script Must Be Opened the Wrong Way!

How to squander money, and how to blow through a hundred thousand in one night—honestly, with David Hamilton’s experience, he had no clue at all. Back on Earth, just treating friends or classmates to a nice meal at a restaurant was already considered a big splurge. Now, in a completely unfamiliar environment, being told to waste a hundred thousand in one night was really asking the impossible.

That’s why David Hamilton brought Grace Carter along—this was his main goal. After all, Grace Carter was at least a rich heiress, and her taste and standards were way above his own.

Sure enough, Grace Carter didn’t notice David Hamilton’s scheme at all. She was still just a young girl and quickly forgot her earlier annoyance. With a huff, she said, "That’s easy. Just go gamble. Losing a hundred or two hundred thousand in one night is a piece of cake."

Gambling? That really was the perfect way to waste money. David Hamilton grinned from ear to ear. "Then let’s go gamble! Driver, let’s… head out!" He was about to say "take us to the biggest casino," but then remembered that the previous owner of this body was notorious for wasting money, and probably frequented casinos. If he said too much, he might give himself away, so he simply said "let’s go," trusting that any driver would know the way to all the city’s hotspots.

Sure enough, the driver replied, "Alright!" and stomped on the gas. The engine roared, and they sped off.

Along the way, David Hamilton kept a close eye on the scenery outside, calculating silently: "From that villa to downtown is about ten minutes. Once we hit the main road, the buildings and sights aren’t much different from those on Earth. I just don’t know what this country is called, or what kind of system it has. I’ll have to figure that out later. Remember: the more you say, the more mistakes you make. Never get carried away."

The scenery flashed by outside. Along the way, David Hamilton saw several luxury hotels, internet cafes, clubs, nightclubs, and so on. All in all, it was almost identical to a big city on Earth.

Soon, the car slowed down and came to a stop. The driver turned and smiled, "Young master, we’ve arrived at the Debora Casino."

David Hamilton turned to look. His car was now parked in the lot beneath a magnificent building. The building had six floors, lit up brightly with neon lights. Socialites clung to the arms of successful men as they came and went. One look and you could tell it was a top-tier casino.

Straightening his clothes, David Hamilton cleared his throat, naturally took Grace Carter’s hand, and smiled, "Alright, let’s go, Gracie. Come waste money with your big bro!"

Grace Carter pulled her hand back with a jerk and huffed, "I’m warning you, keep your hands to yourself, or you’ll be sorry! Even if you are… even if you’re my fiancé, I won’t go easy on you!"

"Alright, no problem." David Hamilton shrugged indifferently. "Let’s hurry up and waste some money, then we can talk about other things. Oh, and you have to help me waste money later. I’m too slow on my own—two people are faster."

"You big spendthrift!" Grace Carter pouted, clearly unwilling.

As soon as they entered the Debora Casino, a doorman came up to greet them. The moment he saw David Hamilton, he bowed and said, "Young Master Dali, welcome! Please, come inside!"
