Chapter 9

The old Jetta drove into a shabby auto repair shop. Alice Reed was still in shock and excitement—the scene of leaping over the police car just now had completely shaken her soul.

Ryan Brooks patted Alice Reed, who was sitting on his lap. “Hey, we’ve arrived. Get out.”

Alice Reed snapped back to reality and suddenly remembered she was still sitting on Ryan Brooks’s lap. The car’s interior was cramped, and the two of them were pressed tightly together, even a bit squished, so she could clearly feel his body heat.

She hurriedly tried to get up, but her head bumped into the front windshield, and she fell right back into Ryan Brooks’s lap.

It took some effort for the two of them to get out of the car. Alice Reed’s face was a little red again, but she didn’t have time to be shy. She grabbed Ryan Brooks’s hand, her face full of admiration, and said earnestly, “Master, please take me as your disciple.”

“Sorry, I don’t take disciples.” Ryan Brooks shook his head. Seeing the disappointment on Alice Reed’s face, he changed his tone and smiled, “But you can be my assistant—help me with things like serving tea, pouring water, giving massages, and pounding my legs.”

“Yay!”

Alice Reed cheered, thinking that as long as she could follow Ryan Brooks, she would definitely learn how to drive well in the future.

Ryan Brooks looked at Alice Reed, whose makeup was a bit smudged, and put on the air of a boss. “Don’t get too happy yet. From now on, don’t do these non-mainstream looks. You look like a ghost.”

“Yes, boss.” Alice Reed nodded obediently, her eyes full of reverence, completely following Ryan Brooks’s lead.

The two exchanged phone numbers. Under Alice Reed’s reluctant gaze, Ryan Brooks left the shabby auto repair shop.

He returned to the siheyuan. From a distance, he saw someone in a police uniform standing at the entrance. From the tall, curvy figure, Ryan Brooks immediately recognized that it was Grace Bennett.

Chapter 007: Miss, Are You a Fairy?

After discovering that the person driving the old Jetta was Ryan Brooks, Grace Bennett didn’t participate in the subsequent arrest operation. Instead, she went straight back to the siheyuan and waited for Ryan Brooks at the entrance.

Why at the entrance? Because she didn’t want to disturb Emma Clark.

As for Ryan Brooks, besides her dislike, Grace Bennett was even more curious. A poor guy using an old Nokia, yet possessing impressive martial arts and amazing driving skills—there must be some secret hidden in this guy.

When Ryan Brooks walked up to the entrance of the siheyuan, Grace Bennett suddenly spoke up, “You’re pretty good at driving, even know how to do stunts.”

Ryan Brooks turned to look at Grace Bennett. Under the dim yellow light of the night, the policewoman’s figure looked even more tall and voluptuous. Standing there, with her cold and stern expression, she had a certain charm.

“If I didn’t do stunts, would you really want to arrest your own landlord? That would be so awkward.”

Ryan Brooks shrugged, not trying to hide anything. The moment the old Jetta leaped over the police car, he had already noticed Grace Bennett hiding behind it.

Grace Bennett snorted coldly, her tone fierce. “I don’t mind arresting my own landlord—especially a landlord like you, who’s morally bankrupt, of bad character, and a threat to public safety.”

Ryan Brooks lazily leaned against the door and smiled. “Officer Bennett, you can’t just say whatever you want. If you want to arrest me, do you have any evidence?”

“I saw you street racing with my own eyes, and you even had a non-mainstream woman sitting on you. Driving while playing with women—you’re really disgusting.” As Grace Bennett spoke, she made a gagging gesture.

Ryan Brooks didn’t care and walked into the siheyuan. “So you’re the only one who saw it? Heh, so you have no evidence. Trying to arrest someone without evidence—what kind of cop are you? You’re basically just a female hooligan.”

Grace Bennett glared at him with her beautiful eyes, but in the end, she held back her anger. After Ryan Brooks went inside, she took out a driver’s license and slapped it in her hand, smiling smugly. “Hmph, I’ve deducted all the points on your license. Let’s see if you dare to race again.”

As soon as Ryan Brooks entered his room, he noticed signs that someone had been inside. After checking, he found only his driver’s license was missing, and immediately understood what had happened.

“This girl is too naive. She thinks that if she takes my license, I can’t drive anymore?”

Ryan Brooks laughed, not caring at all about the missing license. Not to mention the license—even his ID card meant nothing to him. These were all things the people in his group insisted on getting for him when they found out he was back in Dong’an City.

Early the next morning, Ryan Brooks woke up as usual. Nurse Lily Grant was still on the night shift and hadn’t returned yet, while policewoman Grace Bennett was practicing boxing in the middle of the courtyard.

Grace Bennett was wearing a tight white T-shirt and black sports pants, full of energy. As she punched and kicked, her curves shook dramatically, making Ryan Brooks, who had just walked out of his room, stare in a daze.

What was even harder to bear was that, for convenience, Grace Bennett wasn’t wearing a bra. A small patch of her shirt was soaked with sweat and clung to her body, almost transparent.

Ryan Brooks walked up to face Grace Bennett with a serious expression and instructed, “Raise your hands a bit higher. When you throw a straight punch, you need to straighten your arm so you can use your full strength.”

Grace Bennett looked at Ryan Brooks. She didn’t want to listen to him, but still followed his instructions unconsciously. She threw a punch, and it made a sharp whooshing sound.

She was instantly delighted, but when she looked up, she saw Ryan Brooks grinning mischievously, staring right into her open short-sleeved shirt, peeking in through her armpit.

“Pervert! You told me to raise and straighten my arm just so you could peek!”
