Chapter 11

“Old man, you’re not so impressive after all.”

“Come with me to the afterlife!”

The man in the black robe reached into his clothes and took out an object, egg-shaped but deathly pale. Before anyone could see it clearly, he opened his mouth and swallowed it.

In that instant, the gu snake submerged in the black dog’s blood suddenly raised its head and let out a long hiss.

The gu snake, which had been completely drained of strength, suddenly swelled in size.

With a bang, the basin filled with black dog’s blood burst apart, blood splattering everywhere.

In the blink of an eye, the gu snake in the basin had grown as thick as the basin itself and several zhang long.

Its scales gleamed coldly, looking just like a black flood dragon.

A sinister wind howled, its ferocity terrifying, making all who saw it tremble in fear.

“This…” Henry Sutton was dumbfounded, with only one thought in his mind: This is bad, Ethan Woods is in real trouble this time.

Boom!

The gu snake suddenly lashed its tail, snapping a pillar in the hall in half with a thunderous crash, sending dust swirling everywhere.

Henry Sutton, who was also in the hall and too close to dodge, wasn’t struck directly, but the sudden gale almost lifted him off the ground and flung him away.

He felt his whole body jolt as he was slammed at the foot of the statue, his head spinning, nearly losing consciousness.

He didn’t know how much time had passed.

His mind was blank, ears ringing, his whole body exhausted and weak.

After a long while, Henry Sutton managed to open his eyes, only to see a room full of dust.

He felt a sharp pain in his forehead, barely managed to raise his hand to touch it, and when he looked, his hand was covered in bright red blood.

“What happened?”

Henry Sutton struggled to breathe, his mind clouded, filled with confusion.

That gu snake had clearly been subdued—how could it suddenly erupt, becoming so fierce, almost like a flood dragon?

Could it be that the black-robed man swallowed a snake egg?

But even if it was a snake egg, even if this cold-blooded viper had some motherly bond, could it really cause such a world-shaking transformation?

He panted heavily, peering through the hazy dust at the blurred scene in the courtyard.

He saw a black python, as huge as a flood dragon, rampaging through the yard, smashing rockeries and splitting the ground.

The black-robed man was nowhere to be seen, but Ethan Woods was being forced back again and again, barely able to defend himself with a broom stained with incense ash, but clearly in grave danger.

The old man’s hunched figure looked frail before the giant python.

It seemed that at any moment, the giant python would open its mouth and swallow him whole.

“What should I do…”

Henry Sutton grew anxious, his expression changing again and again.

But just then, a soft sound came from above.

Henry Sutton quickly looked up.

The statue still looked imposing, but the stone bead atop its crown suddenly fell.

Bang!

It struck Henry Sutton right on the forehead.

With a muffled groan, Henry Sutton completely lost consciousness.

But the stone bead, stained with Henry Sutton’s blood, hit the ground and immediately rolled away.

Rumble!

A thunderous tremor shook the surroundings.

Chapter 7: Soldiers from Beans

This stone bead had originally been set atop the crown of the Thunder God statue, pale gray in color, ordinary and unremarkable, about the size of an egg.

With the tremor, it fell, striking Henry Sutton’s forehead and staining itself with his blood.

Henry Sutton passed out.

But the stone bead hit the ground.

With a loud bang!

A pit was suddenly smashed into the floor tiles.

Yet the stone bead didn’t stop after falling—it kept rolling, even leaving a groove in the tiles as it went.

The stone bead grew larger and larger, like a snowball rolling downhill.

The groove in the ground also grew wider and deeper.

The stone bead was actually picking up the floor tiles and the earth beneath them, sticking them to itself and growing bigger as it rolled.

The rumbling sound shook the whole area.

By the time the stone bead rolled out of the hall, it was already over a zhang in diameter, enormous and awe-inspiring.

“This…”

Ethan Woods, having been swept aside by the black python and bleeding from the mouth, turned his head and saw a gigantic stone sphere, almost the size of a house.

Ethan Woods seemed to recall something, his eyes narrowing in shock.

But the black python, its gaze icy and uncomprehending, lashed its tail at the stone ball, stirring up a storm.

With this tail strike, there was a sound like wind and thunder, unstoppable in its force.

Bang!

The stone ball suddenly exploded!

Ethan Woods froze, seemingly unable to believe it.

The black python’s eyes remained cold; after smashing the stone ball, it prepared to finish things.

But just then, a furious roar suddenly erupted!

From the pile of shattered stones, a giant hand suddenly emerged.

This hand was enormous, as big as a millstone, formed entirely of earth and stone, and it grabbed the black python’s tail in its grasp, holding it tightly.

A look of panic suddenly appeared in the black python’s cold eyes.

“This is…”

Ethan Woods’s breath caught, his expression filled with astonishment.

“Wuxing Armor!”

“Soldiers from beans?”

“The legend is true!”

……

Henry Sutton’s mind was in a haze.

He only remembered the stone ball falling and hitting his head, making him dizzy.

But in the next instant, he suddenly became clear-headed again.
