Chapter 19

After a night had passed, the soul was empty, the body in peril, reduced to a living corpse.

With a heart full of emotion and regret, William Green headed toward Henry Sutton's room.

Arriving there, William Green paused for a moment, finally sighed, and reached out with both hands to push open the door.

Suddenly, there was a soft sound.

The door opened from the inside.

The person inside the room opened the door and said with a smile, “Brother William Green, what brings you here?”

William Green remained silent, quietly watching Henry Sutton.

For some reason, Henry Sutton suddenly felt that his gaze was very strange.

So strange it made one feel uneasy.

Why did this guy look as if... he’d seen a ghost?

Chapter 11: The Enemy’s Intent

“Brother William Green?”

Henry Sutton touched his face, took a step back, and glanced at the mirror in the room.

His reflection still had regular features, looking handsome and refined.

He grew even more puzzled.

There was nothing on his face, was there?

My pretty face seems even more handsome than yesterday.

So why does this guy William Green look like he’s seen a ghost?

He looked back and saw William Green suddenly turn around and hurriedly leave, heading toward the main hall.

Henry Sutton was completely confused, feeling baffled, and muttered, “He’s definitely jealous of my good looks!”

Arriving in the courtyard.

Ethan Woods was also standing there, quietly watching him, his gaze strange.

William Green stood behind Ethan Woods, his gaze equally strange.

Henry Sutton’s eye twitched.

What’s with these two today? Why are they acting so creepy?

“Very good.”

Ethan Woods suddenly spoke, then nodded, saying nothing more.

At this moment, Henry Sutton vaguely understood in his heart that Ethan Woods was not entirely unaware of last night’s event when the Yin spirit entered his body. But he himself did not know that within his own sea of consciousness was the inheritance of Lord Lu Ya, guarding his mind and warding off all evil.

Most likely, Ethan Woods had thought he wouldn’t survive the night, and seeing him alive today, that was why his expression was so strange.

“So that’s how it is.” Henry Sutton realized, pondering for a moment, wanting to explain, but the matter of Lord Lu Ya’s inheritance and his own transmigration could never be revealed.

Moreover, last night when the Yin spirit entered his body to kill him, Ethan Woods merely remained silent. Whether there was any deeper meaning behind this was hard to say.

It might not be ill intent—perhaps even goodwill—but since he didn’t know the truth, he had to remain cautious.

As Henry Sutton was thinking about how to explain, Ethan Woods had already turned and said, “William Green, go take care of your business.”

William Green gave Henry Sutton a deep look, nodded slightly, bowed, and then withdrew.

Ethan Woods did not ask Henry Sutton about last night, only said calmly, “The antidote has been prepared. Take it and give it to your cousin.”

Henry Sutton was overjoyed at these words and bowed deeply.

Ethan Woods turned around and said indifferently, “Take your cousin home today. After some time, when she has recovered a bit, come to my temple again. I have some matters to discuss with you in detail.”

Henry Sutton was slightly taken aback, then nodded and said, “I understand, elder.”

Ethan Woods nodded slightly and added, “You have obtained the Five Elements Armor, which is a stroke of fortune. I will not take it from you, but you must be vigilant. Do not think that just because you have gained this opportunity and are now extraordinary, you can act recklessly.”

He paused, then said in a deep voice, “Those who cultivate should not only cultivate power, but also their character. There are many who, upon stepping onto the path of immortality, lose their balance, consider themselves superior, treat others as ants, act wildly and without restraint. Such people often go astray. You must always remember your true heart.”

Henry Sutton felt a chill in his heart and said, “I will heed your teachings.”

Gaining abilities beyond the mortal world can indeed give one a sense of detachment from humanity.

If one’s mindset changes, seeing others as ants, disregarding rules, unable to distinguish good from evil, right from wrong, and acting recklessly, then one becomes a villain.

After the conversation, Henry Sutton looked at the devastation in the courtyard.

The ground was cracked, a huge pit gaped, the rockery was shattered, the pond split open, and half the wall had collapsed.

Seeing such a mess, Henry Sutton felt uneasy, for all of this had started because of him and his cousin.

Especially the large pit beneath his feet, narrow at first, then wide, shallow at first, then deep—at its end, it was over three meters wide and one and a half meters deep, truly shocking.

“The power of the Five Elements Armor speaks for itself.”

Ethan Woods came to the edge of the pit and said slowly, “However, you have not yet entered the path, and cannot control the Five Elements Armor. The reason you were able to manifest the Earth Warrior this time was only because of the remnant power left by that great immortal of the orthodox path… Now that the power is spent, from now on, you can only rely on yourself to use the Five Elements Armor. So, don’t think that just because you have it, you can run rampant.”

Henry Sutton scratched his head and gave an embarrassed smile.

He had thought that once the Five Elements Armor was used, it would always be so earth-shattering.

He hadn’t expected that it was only the remnant power of a predecessor, and that he himself, not having entered the path, couldn’t use it at all.

Ethan Woods waved his hand and said, “That’s all I have to say for now. There is still much to do in the temple, and it will be very busy. Take your cousin home and let her rest. In a few days, come find me again.”
