Chapter 3

A clear, bright voice came from outside the abandoned factory gate, and immediately after, a figure kicked the factory door open.

The gate of this dilapidated factory collapsed with a loud crash, as if it could no longer bear any weight.

Chapter Two: Martial Arts Grandmaster

"Who would have thought that in the depths of these remote mountains, I’d actually stumble upon a kidnapping!"

With this clear voice, Ethan Carter walked in slowly, holding a freshly broken tree branch in his hand.

"Kid, are you looking to die?" The tall, muscular middle-aged man fixed his eyes on Ethan Carter like a pair of bronze bells, then a cruel smile spread across his lips. "I just said someone would come to die, and here you are!"

Compared to the tall, burly man, the rather thin-looking Ethan Carter seemed completely non-threatening.

Instead, it was the medium-built young man beside him whose eyes flashed with a fierce glint as he shouted, "Trying to play the hero? Too naive! Kill him, make it quick!"

Upon hearing this, the tall middle-aged man lunged at Ethan Carter with a speed that belied his bulky frame, throwing a punch.

Ethan Carter didn’t even look, simply swung the tree branch.

The branch cracked through the air with a loud snap and struck the middle-aged man’s fist.

"Ah!"

The man screamed in pain, as if his fist had been sliced by a sharp blade—his fingers were cut open.

In the next instant, Ethan Carter was already beside him and kicked him hard.

"Bang!"

The tall middle-aged man was sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust. He didn’t move at all—killed by a single kick.

Ethan Carter didn’t even glance at him. With his current cultivation, even though he had just completed his foundation building, his body had already been completely transformed. For an ordinary person with no training, he could kill with a single kick.

"Awakened one? Awakened your ass!" The medium-built young man, seeing Ethan Carter kill his companion with one kick, instantly revealed his vicious side. He realized that Ethan Carter was likely an awakened one just like his boss. Shocked and furious, he immediately pulled out a gun and fired several shots at Ethan Carter.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

Three shots in a row, each aimed at Ethan Carter's vital points—clearly, he was no good person.

But his eyes widened in disbelief, because he saw Ethan Carter dodge the bullets with nothing more than a slight movement.

"What kind of monster is this!"

Before the medium-built young man could even shout, Ethan Carter was already in front of him and kicked him as well.

"Bang!"

The medium-built young man crashed to the ground, motionless, blood streaming from his seven orifices.

In an instant, his internal organs had been shattered by Ethan Carter's kick—dead beyond any doubt.

Though it sounds like a long story, in reality, it all happened in a flash. Both bandits died at Ethan Carter's hands.

The woman tied to the chair nearby was already petrified with fear. What she had experienced in the past two days was probably more than she’d ever encountered in her entire life.

First, she was kidnapped, and then she witnessed scenes straight out of a martial arts movie—someone actually dodging bullets with ease.

If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, she would never have believed such things were possible!

Ethan Carter walked over to the woman, and with a gentle tug, snapped the ropes binding her. Then he went to the little boy, broke his ropes as well, and laid him flat on the ground.

The stunningly beautiful woman quickly spat out the cloth from her mouth and said, "What are you doing!"

Ethan Carter glanced at her and replied, "Saving lives!"

The beautiful woman hurriedly said, "My brother has a heart condition—he needs special medicine!"

Ethan Carter paused and said calmly, "We’re so far from the foot of the mountain. By the time you get the medicine, he’ll be dead!"

The beautiful woman was momentarily speechless. Looking at Ethan Carter again, she saw that he was pinching a long, vaporous needle between his thumb and forefinger, and was about to stab it into the boy’s chest.

"True Qi? Internal energy?" The beautiful woman calmed down at this point, realizing that it was impossible to get down the mountain in time for rescue. Now, the only person she could trust was this man who had suddenly appeared.

Perhaps it was also Ethan Carter's strange abilities that gave her a glimmer of hope, making her fall completely silent.

Moments later, she was overjoyed to find that her brother’s breathing had steadied, and the flush on his face had faded—clearly, his heart condition had eased.

The beautiful woman was both surprised and delighted, quickly asking, "Is my brother going to be okay?"

Ethan Carter nodded. "He’s saved for now. If I’d been any later, there would have been nothing I could do!"

For others, this kind of congenital heart disease might be a tricky problem, but for Ethan Carter, it was nothing serious.

In his previous life, not only was his cultivation earth-shattering, but his medical skills were also unparalleled. In fact, any cultivator who reached that level would have excellent medical knowledge.

Because on the path of cultivation, all kinds of battles and injuries are inevitable. If you don’t master some medical skills and understand your own body, you’d probably have died long ago.
