Chapter 15

Living in a place like this, one would naturally enjoy a long life, free from all illnesses.

Chapter Eleven: The Master of Internal Force

With Ethan Carter's state of mind, he certainly didn't care about how luxurious this villa was, but rather was more interested in the fact that the layout of the villa actually had the effect of gathering and channeling spiritual energy.

“Mr. Carter, you really have a keen eye!”

Emily Collins nodded and said.

“Our family invited one of the top three feng shui masters in the country, Master Jin, to guide us in the layout!”

“Not bad!” Ethan Carter neither agreed nor disagreed. On today's Earth, this level could indeed be considered the pinnacle, since there is no true inheritance nowadays. However, in Ethan Carter's eyes, it was still not as effective as the spirit-gathering array he could casually set up himself.

To be able to arrange a formation with just furniture at hand—Ethan Carter's attainments in the art of formations were absolutely astonishing. If word got out, countless feng shui masters would feel utterly ashamed.

“Mr. Carter, it seems you also know a thing or two about feng shui?” Emily Collins's eyes lit up as she asked.

“I do know a bit!”

Ethan Carter nodded.

Looking at Ethan Carter's calm and confident demeanor, Emily Collins felt that it was probably more than just “a bit.”

The Master Jin their family had invited was considered a master in the field of feng shui in the country. The layout he had designed was, in Ethan Carter's words, merely “not bad.”

Either this person was an ignorant fool who didn't know his own limits, or he was truly confident in his abilities.

Ethan Carter didn't look like the former at all, so it was very likely the latter.

“I wonder if we could ask Mr. Carter for some guidance!” Emily Collins said.

Ethan Carter glanced around and said, “The person who guided your layout does have some skill. The place can gather spiritual energy, and those who live here are nourished by it, making it hard for any illness to occur. Their health will only get better and better. Not bad!”

Emily Collins's eyes immediately lit up. Ethan Carter was indeed knowledgeable. Ever since she moved in here, she hadn't had any illnesses, not even a cold, and she felt her health gradually improving.

It was exactly as Ethan Carter had said.

The fundamental reason their family built such a manor here was because of her younger brother William Collins's illness. William Collins was born with a congenital heart disease. They had tried many treatments over the years, but none could cure it.

Later, they received guidance from a master and spent a fortune to build this manor. After moving in, her brother's condition was indeed brought under control, and his health gradually improved. Although it couldn't be completely cured, it was much better than living in constant fear every day.

As the two talked, they walked along and soon arrived at the inner living room. The room's layout was simple and grand, subtly in line with the principles of feng shui.

With just a casual glance, Ethan Carter could tell that every piece of furniture in the room had been carefully arranged under someone's guidance.

In the living room, a middle-aged man of about forty or fifty was already waiting. His features bore some resemblance to Emily Collins, but he looked even more masculine.

He didn't have the greasy look or big belly common to middle-aged men. On the contrary, he had a certain military toughness about him.

Standing behind this middle-aged man was a young man who looked about twenty-seven or twenty-eight. He was tall and straight, with a resolute face and an aura of sharpness.

“Mr. Carter, we've been looking forward to your arrival! Sorry for not welcoming you sooner, sorry for not welcoming you sooner!”

The middle-aged man hurried forward, smiling broadly as he spoke.

This man was none other than the former richest man in Fushi, Henry Collins.

He didn't show the slightest bit of disdain for Ethan Carter's young age.

Ethan Carter shook his head. “I don't care about these formalities. Today, I'm here to heal and save people!”

“No rush. Previously, Mr. Carter, you saved my son and daughter. I am deeply grateful. Here is a small token of my appreciation!”

As he spoke, Henry Collins took out a check and handed it to Ethan Carter.

“One million. Mr. Collins, you are indeed generous!” Ethan Carter took the check, glanced at it, and said with a half-smile.

He then handed the check back to Henry Collins and said, “I don't want it!”

The smile on Henry Collins's face froze for a moment. He said, “I was being presumptuous. This amount is indeed not enough!”

Ethan Carter shook his head and said, “I do need money, but a gentleman loves wealth and takes it in the right way. When I saved the two of them, it wasn't for money!”

“If I wanted to make money, I wouldn't lack ways to do so. So you should keep this check. However, I do have a business proposition for you later!” Ethan Carter said.

Henry Collins put away the check, but this time, when he looked at Ethan Carter again, there was more respect in his eyes.

After all, a million was no small sum. He had met many martial artists before, but had never seen one so indifferent to a million-dollar check.

Although he wasn't a martial artist himself, he knew a bit about them, and that their cultivation was very costly.

So Ethan Carter's attitude made him feel that Ethan Carter was different.

“By the way, let me introduce you, Mr. Carter. This is James Harris, the bodyguard I hired to protect me. I remember Mr. Carter is also a martial arts expert, so you young people can exchange ideas!” Henry Collins introduced the young man behind him to Ethan Carter.
