“You can leave first!” Ethan Carter said.
“Sir, aren’t you leaving?” Emily Collins looked at Ethan Carter in some surprise.
Ethan Carter shook his head and said, “As the saying goes, evil must be eradicated completely. This man is ruthless and powerful, not someone ordinary people can handle. Most importantly, he’s working for foreign forces. If I hadn’t run into him, that would be one thing, but since I have, I can’t just let him go!”
He knew very well that when cultivators commit evil, it’s far more dangerous than when ordinary people do.
Emily Collins took several deep breaths, her chest rising and falling. It seemed she had made up her mind and said, “Since you’re not leaving, sir, then we won’t leave either!”
Making this decision wasn’t easy, but she understood one thing even more clearly: no one knew when Scorpion would return. If they happened to run into him on their way down the mountain, it would be a dead end.
The best option now was to stay with Ethan Carter. At least, as far as she could tell, Ethan Carter didn’t seem like a bad person, and he was very powerful.
Ethan Carter glanced at her. This woman did have some courage.
“Then stay, but take your brother over to the side!” Ethan Carter said.
“Okay!”
Emily Collins quickly took her still-unconscious brother to the corner. She knew Ethan Carter was doing this for her own good. Hearing her brother’s steady breathing, she felt much more at ease, knowing he would be fine for the time being.
She looked at Ethan Carter, who was sitting in a chair in the factory. At this moment, Ethan Carter had his eyes closed. Even someone like her, who didn’t understand much, could tell that Ethan Carter was cultivating.
Only in this situation did she dare to look at Ethan Carter so openly. She just didn’t know what Ethan Carter’s background or identity was.
More than an hour passed, and footsteps sounded outside the factory. Soon after, a thin, sharp-featured middle-aged man appeared at the factory entrance.
This middle-aged man had a sinister look on his face and an aura of coldness about him.
The moment he stepped into the factory, he saw the two corpses lying inside. Instantly, a fierce killing intent flashed in his eyes as he looked straight at Ethan Carter.
“Did you kill them?”
Ethan Carter nodded and said, “Looks like you must be Scorpion!”
“How bold. You know who I am, yet you still dared to kill my men. You must have a death wish!” Scorpion spoke slowly, drawing closer and closer. When he was three meters in front of Ethan Carter, he suddenly struck without any warning.
Scorpion was ruthless and attacked with a sudden ambush.
“Boom!”
Scorpion threw a punch, creating a blast of air in the atmosphere, accompanied by a crackling sound. In an instant, he was right in front of Ethan Carter.
This punch was aimed straight at Ethan Carter’s head, intending to smash it like a watermelon.
Just as it seemed Ethan Carter was about to die, he simply raised his palm. Immediately, there was a thunderous sound as the punch was blocked. A tremendous shockwave erupted where their blows met.
“What?” Scorpion’s eyes widened in disbelief. His attack had actually been blocked so easily.
“If that’s all you’ve got, I must have overestimated you!”
Ethan Carter shook his head, then suddenly lashed out with a lightning-fast kick.
The kick was completely unexpected, with no warning at all. Scorpion barely managed to instinctively pull his hands back to block in front of him.
“Bang!”
A loud crash accompanied by the sound of bones breaking. Scorpion was sent flying by the kick, spinning several times in midair before barely landing on his feet.
At this moment, Scorpion’s face was covered in cold sweat, and he was deathly pale. He had suffered a huge loss in that exchange.
His arms hung limply at his sides, completely unable to lift them. In order to block Ethan Carter’s kick, his hands had been directly broken.
Chapter 4: The Cultivator System
Not far away, Emily Collins shielded her brother behind her, her heart filled with shock. She never imagined that a martial artist could be this powerful.
Among her bodyguards, there were some who had trained in martial arts since childhood, skilled in free fighting, taekwondo, judo, and various other disciplines, but at most they were just a bit stronger than ordinary people—able to take on three or five regular folks at best.
But the strength these two displayed was clearly beyond her understanding.
After this incident was over, she felt she absolutely had to find a way to hire such an expert as a bodyguard to ensure her safety.
“Dan-holding Grandmaster!” Scorpion stared wide-eyed at Ethan Carter, as if he had seen a ghost.
He had actually encountered a Dan-holding Grandmaster, and such a young one at that!
He was so certain because he himself was already a Huajin expert. He had a stroke of luck as a child, apprenticed under a master, and after years of life-and-death struggles, had finally reached the Huajin level.
In today’s martial arts world, that was already considered a top-tier expert. Who would have thought he’d have both his hands crippled by a single kick?
There was only one possibility: the other party had already surpassed Huajin and become a Dan-holding Grandmaster.
“How is this possible? He’s so young!”
Scorpion was nearly scared to death. The other party looked at most twenty years old, yet his cultivation was already at the Dan-holding Grandmaster level. Even if he’d started cultivating in the womb, he couldn’t have progressed this fast.
