In the eyes of ordinary people, wizards are lofty and unattainable beings, just like the masters in martial arts films. When the butler said this, his hands were still trembling a little.
"Young master, should we take these things or not?" Uncle Oak, also overwhelmed by happiness, asked with a beaming face from the side.
"Take them, take them all for me!" After all these years of suffering under Angus, this is just the interest.
"Tiffany, come with me to record everything!" With a grand wave of his hand, Uncle Oak led the family's only maid to get ready. Even his walk was full of vigor and pride.
"Thank you, Young Master Colin." Seeing Thunder accept these things, the butler finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He was only afraid that he wouldn't accept them—that would be real trouble.
"Our family's fiefs?" Thunder stopped mid-sentence and turned to look at the butler.
"They're returned!" The butler hurriedly pulled out a stack of land deeds from his chest. "The master has given orders—these are all yours."
Thunder unceremoniously reached out to take them, flicked through them, and glanced over a few. Not bad. Originally, the family only had about two hundred mu of land, but now not only was all of it returned, Angus even gave him a nearby pond.
What a generous landlord!
The butler waved over to the other side, and an attendant came over carrying a small sack, heavy and clinking with the sound of coins.
The butler took it and respectfully handed it over: "Young Master Colin, this is the money from selling grain on the fief these past years. Master Angus asked me to give it to you."
Thunder didn't stand on ceremony, took the bag and weighed it casually—about a hundred gold coins.
There was only more, never less.
"Go back and tell your master that I'm very happy!" Thunder patted the butler's shoulder, each pat making him stagger.
"Yes, yes, I will definitely pass it on."
"When I have time, I'll go have afternoon tea with him, and maybe play a few hands of cards." Thunder continued.
The butler's face turned the color of purple pig liver.
Back when Colin's parents died, Angus tempted the young and naive Colin into gambling. The more he lost, the more he gambled, until he lost all the family fiefs.
After a busy morning, they finally finished unloading everything. The butler from Angus's house said goodbye to Thunder and left with the servants, and the house returned to its former peace.
Uncle Oak clutched a goose feather pen, sitting on the floor and crying his heart out. Tiffany stood by, offering him a towel, but he wouldn't take it.
Uncle had cried countless times since yesterday, and Thunder didn't know how to comfort him.
It was Tiffany who was a bit calmer, though her face was still flushed with excitement.
"Young master, please take a look." Seeing Thunder walk over, Uncle Oak handed him the recorded papers.
This time, Angus was truly ruthless—not only returning the fief and its income from the past years, but also sending plenty of grain and meat.
Several large carts of goods—enough for the three of them to eat well for years.
"Just make sure you count everything. There's no one else in the house anyway." Thunder put the papers on the table, pulled Uncle Oak up, and slapped the small bag of gold coins onto the table. "Yesterday we said life would slowly get better, and today it really has."
Tiffany's little mouth stretched all the way to her ears, unable to close.
Uncle Oak shakily untied the bag, and was instantly dazzled by the golden light. He covered his eyes and collapsed into a chair, mumbling, "Take it away, take it away! It's blinding me."
Tiffany giggled and threw herself onto the bag of gold, not getting up for a long time.
For lunch, they had roast meat. Thunder cooked himself, setting up a fire in the yard and grilling a slab of beef. Uncle Oak was still busy writing and calculating, while Tiffany helped out on the side.
This was definitely the most sumptuous meal the family had had in years. In the past, when Colin was the head of the house, during the worst times, Tiffany had to go out and dig wild vegetables just to survive.
Tearing off a big piece of golden roast meat, he handed it to Tiffany, "Poor thing, eat more and put on some weight."
Tiffany took it, lowered her head, and tears started streaming down again.
"Why are you crying!" Thunder couldn't stand to see women cry. A young girl in her prime should look bright and cheerful, not cry all day. "If you cry again, I'll spank you."
Tiffany shivered all over and quickly stopped her tears.
In the past, Colin had hit her more than once. Just hearing the word "spank" made Tiffany feel cold.
"Tiffany is just happy, young master, don't blame her." Uncle Oak looked up, quietly wiped the corners of his eyes, and he too was in tears.
Chapter Six: Buying Slaves
That afternoon, Thunder was in his own yard testing the power of the Five-Colored Divine Thunder Talisman. The spacious yard was filled with smoke and chaos.
Hearing the noise, Tiffany rushed in, blinked at Thunder, saw it had nothing to do with her, and shrank back out.
"Come back!" Thunder called to Tiffany's retreating figure.
The little girl paused, turned around, and stood in place looking at Thunder, her hands behind her back, her expression timid.
