Right next door, in the neighbor’s house, Noah Grant, now dressed in a bright yellow short-sleeved sports outfit, clicked her mouse with a twitch at the corner of her mouth. On the laptop screen in front of her, the view switched to the bathroom in Ryan Walker’s home, and she stared at him taking a shower with a blank expression.
“Lillian Nolan sis, I feel like I’m about to become a perverted voyeur.” Noah Grant sat cross-legged, speaking weakly, “Can this man get any more boring? In just one afternoon, he’s taken six showers. When will it end?”
From the first time, shyly peeking through half-covered eyes, to the second time with burning cheeks, and now to complete indifference. Noah Grant was amazed to discover just how astonishing human adaptability could be.
“Be patient. According to previous cases, ‘she’ usually commits the crime at night.” Lillian Nolan sat on the sofa, arms crossed. Because of her sunglasses, no one could tell if her eyes were open or closed. “It’s already wrong of us to use him as bait without his knowledge. So, we absolutely cannot let him die.”
“Alright, hmm, now he’s showing off his body again.” Noah Grant’s eyelids twitched, secretly wondering if this was karma for peeping.
……
“Amazing, even my abs are becoming more defined.” In the bathroom, Ryan Walker had no idea that while he was out eating, his place had been filled with hidden Bluetooth cameras and audio recorders. He struck poses with a hint of excitement, admiring the increasingly chiseled muscles; in the mirror, his eight-pack abs were gradually taking shape.
Suddenly, his sharp hearing caught the sound of the front door unlocking.
Wearing a pair of breezy boxers, Ryan Walker walked out while toweling his hair: “Old Liu, how come you’re home so early today? Didn’t go to the hair salon to mess arou—uh…”
Looking up, he swallowed the last word. Mouth agape, he stared in shock at the woman beside his roommate Logan Lewis.
She was extremely tall, and with a pair of blue, jewel-studded high heels, she was at least half a head taller than Logan Lewis. Underneath a hip-hugging mini skirt, her long, slender legs were straight and smooth, her skin fair and silky. Even with Ryan Walker’s now-sharpened eyesight, he couldn’t spot a single flaw at a glance—her skin was so delicate it seemed you could squeeze water from it.
A short-sleeved, sapphire lace-trimmed blouse cinched her slim waist, making it look like it could be held in one hand, and accentuated her ample curves.
Her wavy long hair cascaded over her fragrant shoulders, revealing a charming, heart-shaped face. Her eyes were like a pool of enchanting spring water; just one glance sent a feather-light shiver through Ryan Walker’s heart, making every pore on his body tingle and his blood surge.
A stunner, truly a top-tier woman.
Instinctively, his breathing quickened and his body reacted.
“Hey, hey, Old Wang, where are your eyes looking?” Logan Lewis, flustered, stepped in front of her. “She’s my girlfriend, you know. Bros don’t mess with each other’s girls.”
Girlfriend?
Ryan Walker was stunned. Logan Lewis was his college classmate and current roommate—he knew exactly what kind of person he was. Not only did he love hanging out at bathhouses and hair salons, but he also often tried to drag Ryan Walker along.
But this goofball actually landed a girlfriend? And such a knockout at that. Is there any justice left in this world?
“Uh, haha. The water heater’s out of gas, I’ll go change it. You two make yourselves at home, don’t mind me.” Ryan Walker used his towel to cover himself and dashed into the kitchen.
He swapped the gas cylinder between the stove and the water heater.
That’s the trouble with these old neighborhoods—no natural gas pipelines, so you have to use these old-fashioned gas bottles for fuel. Every time you change the gas, you have to lug them up and down the stairs. It’s a real pain.
“Heh, being stronger really does make a difference.” Ryan Walker hefted the empty gas cylinder—thirty or forty pounds felt light as a feather, no effort at all.
He shook it a couple of times, and the leftover gas sloshed around at the bottom.
“Gas companies these days, the quality keeps getting worse, more and more residue every time. What a rip-off!” Ryan Walker muttered, placing the gas cylinder by the living room door so he wouldn’t forget to replace it later.
Sure, Logan Lewis landing a gorgeous girlfriend made him a bit envious, but the strange things that had happened to him these past couple of days—how could Logan Lewis compare? His mood quickly shifted from shock to balance.
But what was up with today? Rarely-seen beauties kept crossing his path one after another. The two beauties in the Maserati—one older, one younger—were also a rare sight. The younger one had the temper of a spoiled heiress, but the woman in sunglasses, in terms of looks and figure, was every bit as stunning as the one Logan Lewis brought home.
It’s just that the sunglasses woman had a cold, unapproachable aura, while this woman exuded an indescribable femininity—just standing there, she could make your heart flutter. One look from her could make your bones go weak.
The only thing that struck Ryan Walker as odd was that, beneath the strong perfume, there seemed to be a faint “fishy” smell on this woman. He found himself a bit repulsed by it.
In contrast, the sunglasses beauty and the proud heiress both had very light, clean scents.
