The originally beautiful, slender jade hand suddenly burst forth with ten sharp claws, viciously swiping at Lillian Nolan. “I’ve cultivated for three hundred years, and I’m just a hair’s breadth away from becoming a three-tailed fox. Today, I want to see how you, you little bitch, can make me perish, body and soul!”
Facing the enemy’s fierce onslaught, Lillian Nolan showed no trace of fear, her expression calm as still water. She raised her shield to protect herself and charged straight ahead. The ice sword slashed out in one smooth motion, and with a sharp whoosh, a bone-chilling cold spread in all directions, suffocating to behold.
“Rip!” The fox spirit’s sharp claws struck the ice shield, raking down hard. The shield, hard as steel, was left with several claw marks, ice shards flying everywhere.
At the same time, she twisted in midair, narrowly dodging Lillian Nolan’s ice sword, though a tuft of fox fur was sliced off.
The two—one human, one fox—each tested the other with a probing move, passing by one another.
“No wonder she’s a two-tailed demon fox, her speed is incredible.” Lillian Nolan thought to herself, her expression growing more grave. “A troublesome opponent.”
“This sunglasses ice girl’s fundamentals are solid—not only is her shield defense tight, but her sword strikes are also extremely fierce.” The fox spirit, distressed over her lost tail fur, also put away her earlier contempt. “Can’t be careless, or I’ll end up in trouble.”
Their thoughts shifted in an instant, but it didn’t affect their actions at all. Each turned to face the other, and in this small living room of just over thirty square meters, the human and the fox launched into a fierce battle.
“Rip!”
As Lillian Nolan leapt back, the sofa that held many of Ryan Walker’s “fond memories” was torn open with several gashes, cotton stuffing flying everywhere.
“Bang!”
Lillian Nolan charged forward with a shield bash, but the demon fox dodged, causing her to crash straight into the refrigerator. The poor old fridge, which the landlord had used for twenty years, was reduced to scrap metal with a loud crash.
For a while, the battle between human and fox was evenly matched, neither able to gain the upper hand. The fox spirit’s advantage was her speed and razor-sharp claws—anyone grazed by them would be seriously injured or dead. Her tail attacks were also formidable: whipping, pounding, entangling, appearing and disappearing unpredictably, making them nearly impossible to defend against.
Lillian Nolan, on the other hand, was balanced in offense and defense, steady and methodical, making full use of her sword and shield combination. Though she wasn’t as agile or flashy as the fox spirit, she gave the impression of a steady, icy mountain—radiating endless cold, yet solid and reliable. Her ice shield’s defense was impenetrable; with subtle angle adjustments, she could neutralize the enemy’s complex attacks.
She struck rarely, but each time she could precisely target the fox spirit’s vital points.
They fought with abandon, but the living room’s furniture and appliances suffered greatly. In just over a minute of fierce fighting, it seemed nothing remained intact.
Even the landlord’s treasured “Chrysanthemum Brand” electric fan, kept for thirty years, was kicked to Ryan Walker’s side, nearly hitting him. The floor and walls were riddled with cracks, cement debris flying everywhere.
Such exaggerated destructive power left Ryan Walker, watching from the side, drenched in cold sweat. Shrinking into a corner, he couldn’t help but mutter to himself, “These two ladies are way over the top! Were they demolition workers in a past life? Lillian Nolan sis, you have to win. I really don’t want to be eaten by a fox spirit!”

Chapter 0012: The Cheerful Little White Rabbit
……
“Hiss~~”
The fox spirit, seeing that she was clearly stronger, yet still unable to break through Lillian Nolan’s masterful shield defense, let out a sharp screech at Lillian Nolan.
That screech was ear-piercingly loud.
Even Ryan Walker, who wasn’t the target, felt as if needles were stabbing his eardrums, stars dancing before his eyes. At the same time, his mind grew fuzzy and dizzy.
“Not good, demonic sound attack!” Lillian Nolan realized something was wrong, but it was too late—she was already affected, her steps faltering as she nearly fell.
“You little bitch, go to hell!” The fox spirit, her scheme successful, grinned wickedly. Her fiery tail suddenly grew much longer, swinging at Lillian Nolan’s chest like a meteor hammer.
“Watch out!” Ryan Walker, seeing things go awry, gritted his teeth through the pain. He grabbed the “Chrysanthemum Brand” floor fan beside him and smashed it hard at the fox spirit’s back. But the fox spirit’s other tail, as if she had eyes in the back of her head, swung backward and punched Ryan Walker in the stomach.
The huge impact sent Ryan Walker flying, crashing into the wall. His insides churned, and he almost vomited up last night’s dinner from the pain.
Luckily, the delay gave Lillian Nolan time to react. She hurriedly raised her shield to block, but her stance was off, and she was sent flying, shield and all, crashing into the bathroom doorway. Her face turned pale as she spat out a mouthful of blood—she was seriously injured this time.
“Little brother, you actually helped this bitch attack your big sister? I’m so heartbroken.” The fox spirit’s tail, at some point, had wrapped around Ryan Walker’s neck, easily lifting him into the air. With a seductive, aggrieved look, she said, “Tell me, how should big sister punish you?”
“Ugh!” Ryan Walker’s throat was constricted, making it harder and harder to breathe, his mind growing ever fuzzier. A chill of terror swept through his heart—was he, Ryan Walker, really going to die before he even got started?
Lillian Nolan struggled to get up, but a sharp pain shot through her chest. After a moment’s hesitation, she gritted her teeth, pulled out a syringe, and plunged it directly into her artery. In just a few seconds, as the liquid spread through her bloodstream, her adrenaline surged.
