Chapter 9

"Your illness originates in the pelvic area, with blocked meridians and accumulated cold energy."

"Pelvis?" Grace Harris was stunned for a moment, her cheeks instantly flushing red. She quickly shook her head and said, "That won't do." If the golden needles were to be inserted in the pelvic area, wouldn't that mean Brian Carter would see everything? How could she allow that? Although Brian Carter had seen a bit earlier, that was an accident. She had never been so close to a man before, let alone take off her pants and let a man perform acupuncture.

Brian Carter smiled. He had already disinfected and put away the golden needles using a special technique. Standing up, he said, "I was just speaking casually. There shouldn't be any problems tonight. Get some good rest. By tomorrow, you should feel better. Move your feet more tomorrow, but don't exercise too strenuously, including dancing and taekwondo."

"Okay." Grace Harris replied absentmindedly.

"I'm leaving now." Brian Carter stood up and walked toward the door.

"Brian Carter..." Just as Brian Carter was about to push the door open and leave, Grace Harris suddenly called out to him.

"What is it?" Brian Carter turned back and asked.

"Thank you." Grace Harris said gratefully. If it weren't for Brian Carter, she wouldn't have known how to handle this sudden situation.

"You're welcome, it's what I should do. If Uncle Lin hadn't taken me in, who knows where I'd be now. Since you're feeling a bit better, get a good night's sleep. I'll head out first." Brian Carter gave a faint smile, then left and gently closed the door behind him.

Seeing Brian Carter leave, Grace Harris lay in bed and moved her feet a little. Although there was still some discomfort, it was much better. She had really been frightened just now. She finally began to understand why her father admired Uncle Nie so much when she was a child. What kind of person was Brian Carter, really? Grace Harris couldn't help but feel curious. There were so many mysterious things about Brian Carter. When he performed acupuncture on her just now, she felt that there wasn't the slightest emotional fluctuation in his eyes—his composure was almost unsettling.

Chapter 4: Dark Night

Brian Carter returned to his own room, but for a while, he couldn't calm his thoughts. A wave of restless heat rose in his lower abdomen.

Henry Clark was a close friend of Brian Carter. That guy had collected quite a few films from a certain island country, and under Henry Clark's influence, Brian Carter had watched a few himself. But today was the first time he had seen a young girl's beautiful body in real life. The visual impact was nothing like those films could compare to. Grace Harris's graceful figure was like God's most perfect masterpiece. Even though he had only glanced a few times, the image lingered in Brian Carter's mind, impossible to shake off. The faint fragrance of the girl's body seemed to still hover at the tip of his nose, and there was still a trace of that smooth sensation in his palm.

If he could win over a girlfriend like that, his old friends back in Ningdong would be green with envy. But thinking of what Edward Harris had said during the day, Brian Carter couldn't help but want to slap himself. Brian Carter, oh Brian Carter, you're still not clear-headed enough. How could you possibly reach for someone so far above you? Uncle Lin's family is worth at least hundreds of millions, and Grace Harris is his only daughter. Who are you? Just a penniless, debt-ridden poor kid—like a toad wanting to eat swan meat.

Brian Carter put away these foolish thoughts and, after a moment, continued to immerse himself in studying the notebook his father had left behind. When his mother handed him this notebook, she had repeatedly told him to take good care of it. There must be some important information in it that his father wanted to pass on to him—especially that string of numbers, which was extremely out of place!

Seventeen numbers with no apparent pattern—what could they mean?

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck Brian Carter. Could they represent the page numbers of the notebook?

With that thought, Brian Carter immediately turned to page 28. Since the notebook wasn't paginated, he had to count the pages one by one. When he reached page 28, he found nothing—just large sections of text and data! His father was a meticulous and clever man; maybe he had left some clues! Gritting his teeth, Brian Carter carefully examined each string of data. Apart from finding an "H" in the corner of the page, unrelated to any other data, there was nothing unusual.

Brian Carter keenly sensed that this letter might have a deeper meaning. The second number was 22, so he immediately turned to page 22 and searched again, finding another letter, "T," also unrelated to the other data.

There was hope! This must be a clue left by his father!

It took him a full two hours to find these two letters. Searching for two letters among a sea of data was incredibly difficult! Brian Carter felt a bit tired, but his intense curiosity drove him to keep searching. Gradually, he found more and more letters.

It took him the whole night to find eight letters. During the day, while Grace Harris was at class, Brian Carter hastily ate something and continued searching.

Time passed quickly. By evening, Brian Carter had finally found all seventeen letters and discovered that, when put together, they formed a website address.

This discovery made Brian Carter extremely excited. He immediately took out his gaming helmet, which could also be used as a computer. He entered the website address formed by those seventeen letters.
