When ordinary players are hit by Web Spell, although they can still chant magic or swing their weapons to attack, they can only stand in place. Brian Carter turned and ran backward, and the webs that touched Brian Carter's skin quickly dissolved, vanishing into nothing.

Brian Carter easily broke free from the Web Spell. Looking back, he saw the Venomous Spider Azshara struggling to move after entering the thicket. The Venomous Spider Azshara’s basic attack method is to trap its opponent with Web Spell, then approach and attack with its venomous fangs. Brian Carter didn’t have to worry about being trapped by Web Spell, and his movement speed was about 20% faster than the Venomous Spider Azshara, allowing him to dodge its pursuit with ease.

Although the damage wasn’t high, Brian Carter still successfully drew the Venomous Spider Azshara’s aggro. The spider frantically tried to get close to Brian Carter, but every step forward caused its abdomen to suffer massive damage.

After taking out one little spider, Brian Carter ran a distance away, cast another round of Black Oil Spell and Fireball, and took out another.

After a while, all six little spiders were cleared out by Brian Carter. Looking into the distance, he saw the Venomous Spider Azshara dragging its huge abdomen, still moving through the thicket in pursuit, but now it was clearly on its last legs. Of its original 620 HP, less than 100 remained. Even without Brian Carter attacking, the thorns on the ground alone could finish it off.

Brian Carter added a few more rounds of attacks, and the Venomous Spider Azshara’s HP finally hit zero. It let out a miserable scream, its abdomen exploded, and green venom spilled all over the ground.

Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong—three consecutive system notifications sounded. The experience gained from defeating the Venomous Spider Azshara instantly leveled Brian Carter up by three levels.

It was a piece of leather armor for warriors, a defensive item with pretty good stats. It should fetch a decent price on the market.

In addition, there was a +1 Strength Gem Fragment. Gemstones are ranked as gem fragments, gem shards, flawed gems, imperfect gems, complete gems, and perfect gems. Gems are extremely rare; even a single fragment is quite valuable at this stage. Every three strength gem fragments have a 60% chance to synthesize into a gem shard, and the higher the grade, the lower the success rate. Perfect gems exist only in legends. A single strength gem fragment is worth at least fifty or sixty copper coins.
