Chapter 9

Noah Wood, real name John Grant, is an instructor for the cyber warfare course in the Longyin Unit. Before joining the Longyin Unit, he was a renowned figure in the cyber world known as “Ghost,” a world-class hacker. He once gave American agents endless headaches, as he could wander through the Pentagon’s information database as easily as strolling through his own backyard—coming and going as he pleased, just like a ghost: visible, yet untouchable.

After saying goodbye to William Lawson and watching his Audi drive away, Henry Lawson finally carried the suitcase containing the Longya military knife back to his room. Looking at the bold “狂龙” characters engraved on the knife, Henry Lawson hesitated a little. Was he really going to return to the Longyin Unit?

……

With Deputy Chief of Staff William Lawson personally handling it, the processing of Henry Lawson’s admission letter from Donghai University was incredibly efficient. In just three days, the letter was delivered to Henry Lawson’s hands via SF Express.

Seeing the words “Department of Computer Science” on the admission letter, and then taking out Ashley Young’s student ID for another look, a hunter’s smile appeared at the corner of Henry Lawson’s mouth as he thought, Ashley Young, here I come!

……

With Ashley Young’s student ID in hand, he managed to get by for over a week, finally waiting for the day of new student registration at Donghai University.

The school gate was packed with people. The vast majority of freshmen, accompanied by their parents, carried large and small bags of luggage, searching for the reception desk for their respective majors according to the name on their admission letter.

“In the early morning I arrive, carrying my bag of explosives. The little bird says ‘morning, morning, morning, why are you carrying a bag of explosives?’ I’m going to blow up the school, the principal doesn’t know, I pull the fuse and run, with a boom the school is gone.”

Henry Lawson’s decidedly unharmonious singing instantly drew the attention of those around him. He wore a tight black T-shirt on top, desert-colored tactical pants below, and still had the Longyin Unit dog tag with his codename wrapped around his right wrist. His handsome face, clean short hair, and a pair of black sunglasses made him not only stand out, but also exude a chilling aura unique to soldiers.

For convenience, Henry Lawson had swapped his usual Nike sneakers for a pair of black BLACKHAWK combat boots. After registration, freshmen would undergo military training, and he had no desire to wear the school-issued leather shoes that were so stuffy you’d need to pad them with cotton just to make them barely usable.

He didn’t have much stuff; his “Machete” patrol backpack was more than enough. With his hands in his pockets, he strolled leisurely to the school gate, where a boy dressed in Donghai University’s uniform, styled like a K-pop pretty boy, approached him.

The boy had dressed up for today’s registration, hoping to make a strong impression on the incoming female students. But his look, which should have been quite popular, paled in comparison to Henry Lawson.

“Hey there, what’s your major?” the slick, pretty boy asked.

“See for yourself.”

Henry Lawson pulled a crumpled admission letter from his pocket and handed it over, his eyes scanning the crowd for Ashley Young. A girl as outstanding as her was the face of Donghai University—there was no reason she wouldn’t be at the registration scene.

“So you’re in the Computer Science Department!”

The pretty boy was startled when he saw Henry Lawson’s major. Top major plus those looks—this guy totally outshone him. But he quickly put on his upperclassman demeanor and said to Henry Lawson, “The Computer Science registration desk is this way, please follow me.”

“By the way, is there someone named Ashley Young in the Computer Science Department? Where is she?” Henry Lawson asked as he followed the pretty boy.

Hearing Henry Lawson’s question, the pretty boy was taken aback again. But Ashley Young’s reputation was well-known not just in the Computer Science Department, but throughout Donghai University, so it wasn’t strange for a freshman to know her. He replied, “President Yun has something to do today, she’ll be here a bit later. Oh, speak of the devil—there she is.”

Following the direction of the pretty boy’s finger, Henry Lawson saw a cold and beautiful figure walking in from the school gate. She was still as icy as ever, keeping everyone at arm’s length.

“Nice, definitely a woman worth challenging,” Henry Lawson said, stroking his chin.

“Hey, keep your voice down! If Emily Wood hears you, you’re done for,” the pretty boy quickly warned him.

“Emily Wood? Who does he think he is?” Henry Lawson raised an eyebrow, exuding an air of dominance.

“Damn, that’s bold—I like it!” As soon as Henry Lawson finished speaking, another slightly roguish voice chimed in beside him.

Chapter 7 Andrew Stone

When you make an unconventional remark and someone nearby immediately agrees, that person is bound to catch your attention. So, the owner of that voice naturally drew Henry Lawson’s notice.

Henry Lawson turned to look at a man about 175 centimeters tall, wearing a white Nike T-shirt and blue jeans, with a pair of Converse sneakers on his feet. His hair was simply highlighted with chestnut streaks, and there was a hint of mischief on his face.

He appeared at the Computer Science registration desk, carrying a black laptop bag that clearly held a notebook computer. No doubt, he was also a freshman in the Computer Science Department.
