Chapter 10

“Bro, that last line was badass, I like it.” The guy walked up to Henry Lawson in a friendly manner, reached out his hand, and said, “Andrew Stone, freshman in the Computer Science Department.”

“Henry Lawson, also in Computer Science.” You don’t turn down a friendly face, and besides, Henry Lawson had a good first impression of him, so he reached out and shook his hand.

Just then, Ashley Young, dressed in the Donghai University uniform, walked over to the Computer Science registration area. As she got closer, Henry Lawson took off his dark sunglasses and grinned at Ashley Young, “We meet again.”

“What are you doing here?” Clearly, Ashley Young was very surprised to see Henry Lawson.

“Here for school, of course.” Henry Lawson shrugged nonchalantly.

“You’re going to school here?!”

Ashley Young’s eyes widened in disbelief, as if she’d seen a ghost. She really couldn’t figure out why the most promising recruit of the Dragon Shadow Unit would suddenly go crazy and enroll in a university. She wanted to ask Henry Lawson if he’d even taken the college entrance exam, but thinking of all the complicated connections behind him, she wisely swallowed her words. With a mentor who holds the Dragon Thorn Medal and a grandfather who’s a Deputy Chief of Staff, getting him into Donghai University would be as easy as eating or drinking.

Having figured it out, Ashley Young said nothing more and walked straight to the registration desk. Halfway there, she stopped and said to Henry Lawson behind her, “Meet me at the pavilion by the scenic lake after dinner.”

“Is this a date?” Henry Lawson deliberately raised his voice and asked.

Ashley Young paused, then finally nodded.

Seeing Ashley Young nod in agreement, Henry Lawson felt a bit smug, while the students nearby looked shocked. Ashley Young, the snow lotus on the iceberg, had countless admirers, but when had she ever agreed to go on a date with anyone?

Some cheered for Henry Lawson’s luck, while others pitied his recklessness. It wouldn’t be long before Emily Wood found out what had happened. Emily Wood had long declared to everyone that Ashley Young was his woman and treated her as his private property. Many male students who tried to pursue Ashley Young had been either warned or beaten up by Emily Wood, so it was inevitable that this clueless freshman would get a lesson from Emily Wood.

While this seemed unbelievable to outsiders, Ashley Young actually had her own plan. Ever since she entered Donghai University, her beauty and temperament naturally attracted many admirers. Some gave up when faced with her icy demeanor, while others kept trying despite repeated failures—the most persistent being Emily Wood.

From the moment he first saw Ashley Young, Emily Wood began his relentless pursuit. Over two years, Ashley Young had been endlessly harassed by his tricks and schemes, and she wanted a shield. But no one dared to challenge Emily Wood. Now that Henry Lawson had volunteered himself, why not make good use of him?

He’s kept my student ID for over a month—it’s time he paid some interest. Thinking this, a beautiful smile curved at the corner of Ashley Young’s lips, but she quickly hid her breathtaking beauty before anyone could notice.

While Henry Lawson was still admiring Ashley Young’s departing figure, Andrew Stone, standing next to him, nudged him with his elbow and said in an exaggerated tone, “Bro, you’re in trouble now—big trouble. You might not even have time to warm your seat in the dorm before Emily Wood’s challenge letter arrives.”

“Who exactly is Emily Wood? Why does everyone seem so afraid of him?” Henry Lawson glanced at the students around him, curious and puzzled.

“It’s obvious you didn’t do your homework.” Andrew Stone shook his head and said, “Ever heard of Wu’s Pharmaceuticals in Donghai City? Emily Wood is the only son of Wu Changqi, the chairman of Wu’s Pharmaceuticals. In Donghai City, he’s got connections everywhere.”

“I thought it was something impressive, turns out he’s just the son of a pharmacy owner.” Hearing Andrew Stone’s words, Henry Lawson remained calm, even showing a hint of disdain in his eyes. Although it was fleeting, Andrew Stone still caught it.

“Don’t underestimate Wu’s Pharmaceuticals. I heard their family has some ties to the military.” Seeing Henry Lawson unfazed, the suave guy who had greeted him earlier threw out another bombshell.

“So what?”

Henry Lawson glanced at him, then walked straight to the registration desk to complete his enrollment.

This time, Ashley Young personally handled Henry Lawson’s registration. After confirming the authenticity of his admission letter and his identity, Ashley Young explained some important information: “Because the Computer Science Department is special at Donghai University, the student dorms are two-person suites. You can freely choose your roommate, and you can either bring your own bedding or buy it from the logistics office. Any questions?” Ashley Young handed a key to Henry Lawson.

Henry Lawson took the key, thought for a moment, and asked, “Can I apply to live alone?”

“You can, but you’ll need to fill out an extra application form, and the fee will double.” Ashley Young handed him another form.
