“Eh? That Graves idiot just used his dash skill like that?” Jason Bennett's eyes suddenly lit up, seizing the opportunity.
“Very good, you're dead.”
……
Chapter 7: If I get hooked again, I'll call him grandpa
Anyone who has played Outlaw—Graves knows that Graves' E skill, "Quickdraw," is a short dash ability.
Jason Bennett knew that Lily Harris's skills weren't great. Even though there had been plenty of chances to hook before, Jason Bennett hadn't gone for it. Only after Graves used his E skill "Quickdraw" did Jason Bennett's golden Blitzcrank finally emit a mechanical sound, ready to pronounce Graves' death sentence!
After waiting for the minion wave to clear, Jason Bennett decisively activated Blitzcrank's W skill, "Overdrive."
This skill provides a speed boost.
“Lily Harris, attack Graves!” Jason Bennett said.
Unlike the usual Blitzcrank play of using Q "Rocket Grab" to pull the enemy back, Jason Bennett simply charged at the mispositioned Graves with the speed boost, full of swagger.
Graves reacted a split second too late, and without his dash to escape, he was knocked up by Blitzcrank's E skill, "Power Fist."
Miss Fortune was also a bit slow, but she caught up in time and started frantically attacking Graves, using all her skills. Graves' health instantly dropped to half.
At this moment, the enemy Demacian—Garen, who had been hiding in the bush, finally rushed out.
This Garen was a bit smart, charging straight at Miss Fortune and landing a silencing sword right on her.
“Don't mind him, keep hitting Graves,” Jason Bennett said.
By now, Graves' health had dropped to a third. Sensing danger, Graves quickly used Flash to escape.
He managed to get about 800 units away. Miss Fortune couldn't reach him, and the melee Blitzcrank couldn't hit Graves either...
It looked like Graves was about to get away.
No one noticed that the instant Graves Flashed away, Jason Bennett's eyes flashed, and his fingers nimbly pressed the Q key.
The electrified Rocket Grab shot out in a yellow straight line, hooking Graves right on his fleeing backside with perfect accuracy!
Graves was yanked up and pulled all the way from a safe distance of about 800 units right back under Blitzcrank's crotch!
“Holy shit!!”
“Nice hook!!”
Both Emma Reed and Lily Harris blurted out at almost the same time.
No matter how bad Lily Harris was, there was no way he'd let this one get away. After a few clicks, Graves' last third of health was decisively finished off!
FIRST BLOOD!!
First blood secured, a golden "400!" floated above Miss Fortune, controlled by Lily Harris.
“Haha, Emma Reed and the others got first blood in bot lane!” the supporters from Class 3 cheered from the back.
“Idiot, it was the enemy who got it. Emma Reed's Graves got killed!”
“No way, even that noob Lily Harris can get a kill?”
Seven or eight people from Class 3 immediately crowded around Emma Reed's computer. Sure enough, his screen was gray, and he looked surprised.
“What happened?” Captain David Morgan frowned, a bit displeased.
“I got careless,” Emma Reed said with a wry smile.
“Play seriously,” David Morgan didn't say much more. After all, it was just first blood; it wouldn't affect the game much.
David Morgan was playing mid lane, using the champion "Kha'Zix," also known as "the Mantis."
Facing off against Eric Carter's Annie, Kha'Zix didn't have much of an advantage early on, but he actually had 5 more CS than Eric Carter, and still had health potions left. This showed that David Morgan's skills were indeed solid.
……
On the other side, Class 8's captain Eric Carter was delighted to see that his team had gotten first blood.
“Lily Harris, nice job!” Eric Carter praised.
“Well played...” Ethan Foster grinned, “Shit, run... I'm out of health!”
“Hehe.” Lily Harris also smiled contentedly.
Eric Carter, Mark Bailey, and Ethan Foster were all focused on their own lanes and hadn't switched their screens to bot lane. Only when first blood happened did they look down, just in time to see Miss Fortune take down Graves.
So they instinctively thought it was Lily Harris's skill that made it happen.
But Lily Harris knew that if it hadn't been for Jason Bennett's hook pulling back the Flashed Graves, there was no way he could have gotten that first blood.
He actually didn't do anything special—just kept attacking Graves.
The Class 8 students watching behind Lily Harris were only around level ten or so, so they might not have understood Jason Bennett's series of plays.
First, wait for the enemy to use their dash, then, in the instant the enemy lets their guard down and the minion wave disappears, speed up and charge in to knock them up and control them.
Then, predict the enemy will Flash, and after they Flash, use Blitzcrank's most important skill, Q "Rocket Grab."
That way, even after Graves used Flash, he still couldn't escape death!
