Glancing at Little Pixie’s somewhat disheveled clothes, Ethan Brooks teased, “Big sis, did you use that trick of yelling ‘molester’ in public again? Next time, can you come up with something more creative?”

“You really underestimate me. I’ve got plenty of tricks up my sleeve that you can’t even imagine.” Lily lifted her head proudly, lying without the slightest blush or quickened heartbeat, and continued, “Today I discovered that all the discs in that kid’s shop are pirated, and he’s even selling porn. Just for that, shouldn’t we be able to lock him up for a few days?”

“My dear aunt, that’s your important intel?” Ethan Brooks almost cried, retorting, “Tell me, is there a single rental shop in all of C City, or even the whole country, that sells only genuine discs? “You guys are just too soft on criminals. If we did a big sweep every day, piracy in our country would be almost wiped out, if not completely eradicated.” Lily snorted, then looked at Ethan Brooks and asked, “So according to you, we’re just going to let this go?”

Chapter 008: Deep Behind Enemy Lines

“Let it go? Who said that? Wouldn’t that be letting that Wei scoundrel off too easy?” Ethan Brooks rolled her eyes at Lily, then said fiercely, “As long as the green hills remain, there’ll always be firewood to burn. Next time there’s a crackdown, your aunt will be the first to lead a raid on that bastard’s shop!”

“Awesome, that’s ruthless! But I like it…” Little Pixie grinned wickedly, then suddenly frowned and muttered, “Your plan would work, but isn’t it a bit too slow? Isn’t there a way to make him suffer right away?”

Ethan Brooks shook her head. “Nope, you’ll have to come up with something yourself.”

Lily suddenly seemed to grab onto a lifeline and said, “That kid seems to be pretty close with someone called ‘Brother Steele’. I get the feeling that guy is some kind of gangster. Do you think the two of them might be in cahoots?”

“Jack Steele?” Ethan Brooks was startled, then said helplessly, “That guy’s been tailed by the second squad for years and they haven’t found a thing. What can we do? Besides, there’s no business connection between Wei and Jack Steele. If we try to pin something on him, isn’t that going too far?”

“That’s true, we should be decent people. If we really push that kid to the edge, even a pure, kind, beautiful girl like me would feel guilty.” Lily nodded as she spoke, lying without the slightest shame, then suddenly added, “That kid said he’s willing to apologize to you, and even pay compensation. What do you think we should do?”

Ethan Brooks’s expression changed. “Pah, who wants his apology? Unless…”

“Unless what?”

“Unless that bastard is willing to kneel in front of me and admit his mistake.”

“Hmm, that’s a good idea, but not very realistic…” Lily shook her head, mercilessly dashing Little Pepper’s hopes, then asked, “How about we just extort a big sum from him?”

Ethan Brooks thought for a moment, then shook her head. “Forget it, don’t get your hopes up. You really think he’ll cough up a lot? At most, he’ll treat us to a meal to make amends.
