Chapter 14

Brian Carter's eyes were open wider than a cow's: "Kill me? What kind of thing is that? Shouldn't you be offering yourself to me instead? Since suicide is an option, I think you should just go ahead and kill yourself."

"Right!" Brian Carter, with a gun in hand, wasn't afraid the other party could do anything to him: "Before you kill yourself, can you tell me where this place is and how I can get out of this forest?"

"You..." The girl's eyebrows arched, and she glanced again, warily, at the iron tube that gave her immense pressure. Suddenly, a look of resolve flashed in her eyes: "I owe you my life, and I should repay you. But druids have their own traditions—any man who has seen a virgin's body must be killed to cleanse her purity. So, after I kill you, I will commit suicide as repayment for saving me!"

Brian Carter immediately shouted, "Wait, I don't want to die! I'm still a virgin, I haven't even lost it yet, how can I die?"

The girl stared straight at Brian Carter, her gaze full of hesitation. The druid rules never mentioned what to do if the man who saw a virgin's body happened to be her savior.

The girl fell silent. Brian Carter watched her nervously, not forgetting the speed of the werewolf—this distance was by no means absolutely safe.

A few wolf howls broke the silence between them. A dozen men clad in animal pelts, accompanied by two gray wolves, emerged from the woods where Brian Carter had previously walked.

Seeing Brian Carter, the dozen men in animal pelts all froze, and the two gray wolves bared their teeth at the same time, low growls rumbling from their mouths.

The girl let out a startled cry and, without thinking, hid beside Brian Carter, her face full of panic and fear—there was no trace left of her earlier murderous intent.

"Save me..."

The girl looked timidly at Brian Carter; this man, who didn't look very strong, had now become her most important support.

"Save you?"

Brian Carter scratched his head. The woman who had just tried to kill him was now asking for help? It's not that I don't understand, it's just that the world changes too fast.

What the hell is this? Brian Carter's mind was full of questions. Instinctively, he shielded the girl behind him again, while sizing up the men who had suddenly appeared.

Chapter 9: I'm Still a Virgin (Part 2)

The dozen men who appeared saw the girl hiding behind Brian Carter and Brian Carter's reaction, and their faces all darkened.

The man with two gray wolves at his side stepped forward, not even glancing at Brian Carter, and looked straight at the girl behind him: "Katherine, stop hiding. Come back with us."

Only then did Brian Carter notice that the man's animal pelt at his waist was actually red, which seemed different from the yellow fur at the waists of the other men.

"No! I'm not going back!"

Katherine clung tightly to Brian Carter's clothes, like a drowning person clutching the only straw that could save her.

The man's eyes widened, his face instantly clouded with anger: "Katherine, stop being willful! As a druid, you must fully abide by all the druid rules. The village needs you now—how can you shrink back?"

Oh? Brian Carter's eyebrows rose. It seemed the beauty behind him didn't follow the druid rules so strictly. Looks like there's still room to negotiate about the suicide and murder issue.

"No!" Katherine shook her head firmly. "Jack, I will follow the druid rules! But the rule of blood sacrifice, that mistake, was abolished long ago! To defend the village, I can give my life fighting the barbarians, but I will never take part in a blood sacrifice!"

The man called Jack, the leader, furrowed his brows: "I know, blood sacrifice was abolished long ago. But your power is too weak—even if you fight the barbarians, it won't make any difference. In that case, why not give your life in a blood sacrifice to heal the gravely injured Megan Parker? You should know, your perception is the strongest in the village. Only your blood sacrifice can fully heal the village's top warrior..."

"No!" Katherine nearly screamed, cutting off Jack: "The reason the druids declined was because of blood sacrifice, which brought down the wrath of the heavens. Blood sacrifice will only bring destruction to the village."

"But!" Jack shouted emotionally, "Without Megan Parker, we can't resist the barbarians either! We'll be wiped out all the same! Looks like you won't come back with us willingly! In that case—"

Before he finished, one of the gray wolves kicked off with its hind legs and lunged forward.

Brian Carter's clothes were being tugged by Katherine, and seeing the gray wolf pounce, he couldn't dodge even if he wanted to. He aimed the Sela Gun at the wolf leaping through the air and pulled the trigger.

All the gray wolf saw was a burst of white mist suddenly shooting from the iron tube. Its body, still in midair, didn't even have time to dodge before it became a perfect ice sculpture.

Crash—

The ice sculpture hit the ground with a thud, and the wolf's body shattered like a layer of ice into fist-sized pieces.

Brian Carter's mouth formed an O shape. Even though he'd only taken down a small gray wolf, the Sela Gun, after being fitted with the Frost Dragon as a power source, was even more powerful than he'd imagined.
