In the last battle, Megan Parker risked her life to injure the wild boar, forcing the barbarians to retreat temporarily. But everyone in the village knew that once the wild boar recovered, the druid village would be in danger.
To save the druid village, the only option was to use the long-abolished blood sacrifice, letting the royal Katherine use her life to call for the druid god’s mercy and heal Megan Parker’s wounds.
The barbarians’ “Battle Rage,” the druids’ “Primal Fury”? Upon hearing these two familiar skill names, Brian Carter stopped listening closely to Jack’s explanation.
In the fantasy world, although Brian Carter had never played as either of these races before, he had interacted with players of both. He had heard of the names “Battle Rage” and “Primal Fury.”
If he had only heard of them, Brian Carter wouldn’t be this excited. What truly thrilled him was that the top player of the day had a strange hobby—collecting skill manuals.
Every skill manual he obtained, whether he could use it or not, was stored in his spatial bracelet. Not long ago, while searching for “Five Elements Combat Energy Manual,” he had indeed seen quite a few druid skill manuals inside.
“Martial Aura” could be used, “Supreme Aura” could also be used, so maybe these druid skill manuals could be used as well?
Brian Carter glanced at Jack beside him, this strong druid, and sighed helplessly: “If the village had powerful skills, what would the barbarian village amount to? Once we get through this crisis safely, I hope Katherine can get a good position at the druid royal selection tournament and bring back some druid skill inheritance for the village.”
“Royalty?” Brian Carter felt a bit curious about the druid system: “Didn’t you say before that Katherine is a princess? Why isn’t the village valued by the druid temple? And how did you dare to burn the princess?”
“Princess…” Jack showed a few more helpless, bitter smiles: “Actually, every druid village has a druid royal princess… It’s just that, except for a few large villages, the royal bloodline in the other villages’ princesses has been very diluted from the start. Now, it’s just a title that qualifies one to participate in the royal selection tournament.”
Chapter 13: Playing Cool
“Oh~~” Brian Carter slowly nodded, his eyes constantly sizing up the strong druid beside him.
According to Jack’s explanation, the outside world didn’t seem very safe either. If that was the case, maybe it was better to find a way to stay in the druid village and freeload, rather than risk adventuring outside.
“Hmm~!” Brian Carter glanced at the spatial bracelet on his wrist, starting to plot how to use Jack’s assumption that he was an expert, combined with the druid skill inheritances in the bracelet, to achieve his goal of freeloading in the druid village.
The human world might be nice, but you need to survive to enjoy it, right? Brian Carter silently comforted himself. Once he was strong enough, it wouldn’t be too late to go mix in the human world.
“Brian Carter, we’ve arrived at the village.”
Jack’s reminder interrupted Brian Carter’s thoughts.
“The village? Where is it?”
Brian Carter looked up, but all he saw were trees, no different from the surrounding forest, with no sign of the village Jack mentioned.
Jack pointed upward into the trees: “Up there.”
Following Jack’s finger, Brian Carter looked up to see simple thatched huts built on the branches of huge trees. Next to each house, a vine as thick as an arm was tied to the branch, apparently serving as a ladder.
Brian Carter rubbed his eyes hard and looked carefully at the hundreds of huts on the giant trees. Many of the roofs were covered in mushrooms, making them look colorful from afar, almost like abstract art.
Brian Carter frowned, looking at Jack in disbelief: “You druids live in the trees?”
“Yes.” Jack nodded seriously. “In Paradise Forest, it’s safer up in the trees.”
“I see.” Brian Carter nodded, and his earlier idea of freeloading in the druid village instantly vanished without a trace.
As a modern person, Brian Carter felt it would be hard to adapt to long-term primitive tribal life. Especially living high up in the trees—sleeping up there for a few nights, staying alert, he could manage. But living in that environment every day, if he ever fell out of a tree while sleeping, he’d die on the spot—what a disgrace that would be.
Brian Carter sighed. It seemed freeloading in the druid village was impossible. He’d have to find a way to trick a druid into leaving the village with him, so he’d have a bodyguard or two outside.
Suddenly, the trunks of several dense trees shook, and three druids dressed in animal skins and holding spears slid down the vines to the ground.
When the three druids saw Katherine, their expressions grew complicated, and they quickly looked away.
“Jack, why did you bring back a human with elf blood?”
