Chapter 10

Olivia Bolton sent David flying with a single punch, then stared at his own fist in astonishment. He wasn’t even sure how much power he could unleash with one punch, or how much damage he could actually inflict on his enemies.

The strength inside his body was completely beyond his own control.

Just then, two military knives attacked from the left and right.

One aimed for the eyes, the other for the throat.

David and Jack coordinated seamlessly, determined to turn the little beggar Olivia Bolton into a dead fish.

“Boom…”

Olivia Bolton was extremely nervous, and also extremely scared.

He didn’t have time to think, nor had he ever received any professional combat training.

He clenched his fists and smashed them forward.

“Bang…”

That was the sound of bodies slamming into the bridge wall.

“Crack…”

That was the sound of bones breaking.

The two kidnappers rushed out at the same time, then retreated simultaneously, their bodies flying backward and slamming hard into the bridge wall.

David’s lower leg was fractured, and half of Jack’s body was so numb with pain he couldn’t feel anything.

The two of them gritted their teeth and struggled to get up from the ground, looking at Olivia Bolton as if they were seeing a demon.

Right now, Olivia Bolton was even more terrifying than a demon.

Olivia Bolton himself stared wide-eyed, looking at his own hands in disbelief.

“I’m actually this strong?”

Then, he slapped his own thigh.

“If I’d known I was this strong, I should’ve gone to the pedestrian street today and performed breaking bricks with one hand… I could’ve at least earned a few meals, so why bother tricking a little kid out of half a hamburger?”

“Bro, my leg’s broken…” David looked at Jack, his face full of fear.

They knew very well that, during a “mission,” being unable to walk meant disaster.

What’s more, they were currently being hunted by the Jiangcheng police, in danger of being surrounded by the cops at any moment.

“It’s either him or us.” Jack said viciously, giving David a meaningful look, then suddenly pulled a pitch-black pistol from his coat.

The dark muzzle was aimed at Olivia Bolton’s chest.

“Kid, aren’t you tough? This time, I want to see… are your fists faster, or my bullets?”

Jack’s eyes were cold and ruthless. Years as a mercenary had made him unfazed by killing.

In their eyes, human life was worthless—what was there to cherish?

This time, Olivia Bolton was truly scared.

He knew he could fight, but he wasn’t sure if he could block a bullet.

What if he couldn’t?

“You have a gun… why didn’t you take it out earlier?” Olivia Bolton shouted in exasperation.

Isn’t that just stupid? Seriously, isn’t that stupid?

You clearly had a gun on you—if you’d just pulled it out and shot me, or even just threatened me with it… I’m not that brave, I would’ve given in easily.

Instead, you kept throwing punches and swinging knives, getting beaten back by me again and again—was it worth it?

“Who wants to waste bullets on a beggar? Didn’t expect you’d actually get lucky.” Jack said through gritted teeth.

“I give up, I surrender!” Olivia Bolton raised his hands quickly, “Let’s talk this out. What were you trying to do just now? Go ahead, pretend I’m not even here…”

Olivia Bolton wanted to just flop down in the grass and pretend this was all a nightmare.

When he woke up, nothing would have happened.

“Kid, too late.” Jack sneered, and as he spoke, his finger tightened on the trigger.

“Stop!” Yvonne Sullivan shouted anxiously, “I’m the one you’re after, don’t hurt the innocent—he has nothing to do with this.”

“Miss Shen, his only mistake was seeing us, and even more so, trying to play the hero. How do heroes die? They all die saving beauties.”

“We can negotiate the price again. As long as you let him go, I’ll pay whatever it takes for his life.”

“Sorry, this time, we’re not selling.” Jack said with hatred in his eyes.

“Surrendering doesn’t work?” Olivia Bolton was furious at the kidnappers’ persistence. “Then I won’t surrender.”

“Go to hell!”

As he spoke, Jack suddenly pulled the trigger, aiming at Olivia Bolton’s chest.

“Bang…”

Sparks flew.

A sharp bullet shot out of the chamber, whistling straight for Olivia Bolton’s chest.

At the same time, Olivia Bolton moved too. A green light flashed on his chest, like a wolf’s head howling at the sky.

Olivia Bolton didn’t dodge—instead, he charged straight toward the incoming bullet.

“Olivia Bolton…” Yvonne Sullivan screamed, her voice full of grief and despair, echoing far along the desolate riverbank.

……

“Am I dead?” Olivia Bolton asked himself in his heart.

“No, I’m still alive.” Olivia Bolton said with absolute certainty.

“Those legs are so long, that waist so slender, that skin so fair, that chest…”

“Pah, pah, pah… don’t look at what you shouldn’t…”
