“My aunt is the chairwoman of the board at Qingyun High School.” Ethan Lincoln looked at Olivia Bolton smugly. “Don’t even mention arranging for a dropout to return to school—if she wanted to stuff all the beggars in Jiangcheng into the school at once, no one would dare say a word. Of course, that’s if you don’t mind ruining the school’s reputation.”
Olivia Bolton nodded. It wasn’t surprising that Yvonne Sullivan had this kind of power; what was surprising was that she happened to be a board member at Qingyun High School. It seemed they really were fated to meet.
“Ethan Lincoln, don’t talk to Olivia like that. He’s my aunt’s benefactor.” Yvonne Sullivan glared at Ethan Lincoln reproachfully.
She was afraid Ethan Lincoln would speak carelessly, throwing around words like “beggar” and hurt Olivia Bolton’s sensitive feelings.
“Got it.” Ethan Lincoln nodded repeatedly, already coming up with other ways to get back at him, and her attitude toward Olivia Bolton improved a bit. “He’s my aunt’s benefactor, so he’s my benefactor too.”
“Miss Lin, you’re too polite.” Olivia Bolton waved his hands. “I don’t dare call myself a benefactor. I just hope Miss Lin won’t come and pull off my covers early in the morning anymore. After all, men and women shouldn’t be so close. I’m still a virgin!”
“Olivia Bolton, I’m going to kill you…” Ethan Lincoln jumped up and lunged at Olivia Bolton across from her.
Olivia Bolton hurriedly ran away, shouting for help as he went.
Yvonne Sullivan shook her head, a wry smile on her face.
Chapter 9: Terrorist!
Because of Olivia Bolton’s comment about men and women keeping their distance, he and Ethan Lincoln became mortal enemies once again.
After breakfast, Yvonne Sullivan took out the latest iPhone 7 Plus and a set of keys, handing them to Olivia Bolton with a smile. “This phone is for you from now on. I’ve already saved Ethan Lincoln’s, Principal Wang Ligong’s, and my own numbers in it for your convenience. Later, you’ll ride with Ethan to school. When you get there, go straight to Principal Wang—he’ll help you with everything. I’ve also prepared a set of house keys for you.”
“This is too much, I can’t accept it.” Olivia Bolton said modestly, but his hands had no problem slipping the keys and the jet-black new phone into his pocket.
Ethan Lincoln rolled her eyes at the side, grumbling in dissatisfaction.
Come on, how could this country bumpkin get my phone number so easily?
You know, the guys at Qingyun High School have driven up the price of her contact info to the sky. Even a WeChat alt account could sell for the price of two iPhones, let alone her phone number!
This stinky fish really got a huge bargain!
“Ethan, I have to go to the company to handle some things today, so I’ll leave Olivia to you.”
“Got it.” Ethan Lincoln replied listlessly.
After Yvonne Sullivan’s ice-blue Bentley left, a white Volvo sedan drove out of the garage—Ethan Lincoln’s personal car.
Sitting in the car, Ethan Lincoln sized up Olivia Bolton from head to toe, shaking her head as she clicked her tongue. “Your hair is long and messy—terrible, bad review; your clothes look like you picked them up off the street, the collar of your white shirt is filthy—bad review; your pants are full of holes—come on, only small-town wannabes dress like that these days, it’s not trendy in Jiangcheng anymore—bad review; your shoes… why do your shoes have English curse words on them? What brand is NMB? Can you not show your anger on your feet? So childish! Another bad review… In short, your head doesn’t match your hairstyle, your hairstyle doesn’t match your body, your body doesn’t match your clothes—from head to toe, you’re a total mess!”
Olivia Bolton couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
Come on, if you were locked in a lab for two years, you’d probably look even worse than me.
He’d just grabbed a few clothes from the roadside to cover himself—who cared about style at that point?
“Can you be a little more tactful?” Olivia Bolton said with a wry smile, rubbing his nose.
“Fine, since you helped my aunt, I’ll be a little more tactful.” Ethan Lincoln said solemnly. “With your look, you’re hideous, totally out of style. I can live under the same roof as you, but I’d rather die than go to school with you. It’s too embarrassing.”
“Gulp…” Olivia Bolton almost tripped and fell.
That’s what you call tactful? That’s even more hurtful than before!
“Sorry, your image doesn’t pass. You can’t ride in the same car as me. You’ll have to take the bus. Bye-bye.”
Ethan Lincoln’s car window slowly closed, and then she sped off out the villa gates.
Thinking of the pained look on Olivia Bolton’s face, Ethan Lincoln smugly waved her little fist.
This was a rich neighborhood—every family had their own car, and the nearest bus stop was five or six kilometers away. Taxis rarely came out here either. Let’s see how you get to school. If you’re late, that crazy dean will definitely give you a hard time.
She couldn’t wait to see Olivia Bolton get a beating from the dean.
“It’s not so easy to take advantage of me.”
Olivia Bolton watched the Volvo drive away and smiled slightly. He wasn’t angry. After all, during their first “honest encounter,” he’d gotten a huge advantage. With Ethan Lincoln’s personality, if she didn’t look for a chance to get back at him, she wouldn’t be herself.
Of course, he wouldn’t complain to Yvonne Sullivan or go tattling for help. That wasn’t his style.
