Chapter 16

Olivia Bolton believes that sooner or later, Ethan Lincoln will fall for his jeans.

To battle with the heavens is endless joy; to battle with the earth is endless joy; to battle with beautiful women is even more endless joy!

Take it slow, no rush.

Olivia Bolton smoothed his hair, strode out of the villa district, and walked toward the bus stop.

Unexpectedly, Olivia Bolton's path to enrollment was not smooth.

Because Yvonne Sullivan had given advance notice, the principal of Qingyun High School, William Carter, personally took Olivia Bolton to the academic affairs office to complete his registration, and handed him his school uniform and textbooks.

Several staff members exchanged glances—this seemingly calm and plainly dressed young man must have a terrifyingly powerful background. Just look at Principal Carter's cautious demeanor; it clearly signals something unusual!

After finishing the enrollment procedures, William Carter accompanied Olivia Bolton to the senior year group, brought him to the homeroom teacher of Class 5, Grade 12, Charles Wood, and smiled, “Teacher Wood, this is your class’s Olivia Bolton, he’s coming back to school now.”

Charles Wood had a sharp, unkind face, and was usually stern, frowning and glaring as if the whole world owed him hundreds of yuan.

He was buried in grading homework, but the name Olivia Bolton seemed to have some kind of toxicity. He jumped up nervously, his gaze stabbing at the boy in front of him like a knife.

“Olivia Bolton? Which Olivia Bolton?” Charles Wood asked, his heart pounding.

“Zhang with a long bow, and the little fish that swims around,” Olivia Bolton replied coolly. “The one you always call an idiot.”

As he said this, Olivia Bolton didn’t even glance at Charles Wood; he was casually flipping through the textbooks he’d just received. Due to his special situation, he had requested all the textbooks and supplementary materials from Grade 10 to Grade 12, and since then, he had been leafing through them.

“It’s you? Didn’t you drop out long ago? Why are you back? Can’t you show some respect for other people’s work? The publisher worked hard to print these textbooks—they’re not for you to just flip through for fun.” Charles Wood looked at Olivia Bolton with utter disapproval. “You can waste anything, but you must never mistreat books.”

Olivia Bolton didn’t even lift his eyelids, continuing to flip through his textbooks with great interest.

Charles Wood’s impression of him grew even worse.

He cared especially about students’ grades. To him, the so-called all-around development in morality, intelligence, and physical fitness was just empty talk; only grades were the sole standard for judging students.

With his intellectual disability and perennial bottom-of-the-class ranking, Olivia Bolton was a thorn in his side. Because of him, Class 5’s average grades were always in the lower-middle range of the year group, which infuriated Charles Wood.

Back when Olivia Bolton suddenly disappeared and dropped out, Charles Wood was so happy he danced square dancing with the neighborhood aunties all night. After that, Class 5’s average grades shot up from the bottom to the top, second only to Class 9.

Charles Wood’s status among the teaching staff also rose significantly.

But now, in the second half of senior year, when every class was doing their utmost to prepare for the college entrance exam, the principal suddenly told him that the class’s burden, the idiot Olivia Bolton, was coming back to repeat the year.

Charles Wood almost wanted to jump up and curse.

Of course, with Principal Carter standing right there, cursing would be inappropriate—wouldn’t that be a slap in the principal’s face?

“Principal Carter, I can tell you clearly, this student, I... do... not... want!” Charles Wood replied firmly.

“Teacher Wood, this is the school’s arrangement. Individuals must obey the organization—you should understand that, right?” William Carter said in a deep voice.

“The school’s arrangement is unfair. I have the right to object,” Charles Wood said stiffly, his neck flushed red. “There are ten classes in Grade 12. Why does he have to be assigned to ours?”

“Olivia Bolton was originally in your class!” William Carter said.

“I heard that Olivia Bolton’s student registration was canceled when he dropped out. Since it was canceled, it has nothing to do with our Class 5 anymore. Now that he’s coming back, he should be treated like a transfer student. Whichever class has a spot should take him. Sorry, our class is already full,” Charles Wood said with a stern face.

The other senior year homeroom teachers, upon hearing this, all buried their heads, wishing they could hide between their legs, terrified the principal would notice them.

This “big shot” Olivia Bolton was absolutely a huge pitfall—whoever took him in would be digging their own grave.

You have to know, a class’s average grades and college admission rates are directly tied to a teacher’s performance evaluation. Good performance means more red-hot cash!

And this “big shot” would drag a class’s grades straight into the abyss.

Who would want to mess with their paycheck?

A person’s reputation is like a tree’s shadow. Even after being away from Qingyun High School for years, Olivia Bolton still had the terrifying power of a nuclear bomb.

“Teacher Wood, Olivia Bolton is different now. After more than two years of treatment, his intelligence has returned to normal and he won’t affect the class’s grades anymore,” William Carter said with conviction.

In fact, these were words from Yvonne Sullivan; as for whether they were true or not, he wasn’t so sure himself.
