Just like before, it was the same angelic, innocent smile. However, Raymond Brooks seemed to see fangs at the corner of the angel’s mouth, and a little tail swaying behind her. He was about to slip away, but Alice’s warm little hand gripped him like an iron clamp, making it impossible for him to move an inch.
“Is anyone here? I’m coming in!” Alice affectionately “pulled” Raymond Brooks along and shouted loudly.
“Who is it? Who barges in so rudely…” Little Stanley grumbled as he hobbled out. When he saw Alice, whether from fear or shock, he immediately flopped face-down onto the ground.
The dirt-streaked Albert Harris came out upon hearing the commotion. When he saw Raymond Brooks, his eyes suddenly flashed with a terrifying light, but instead of charging at him fiercely as expected, he bowed respectfully to Alice.
“Master, it’s been a long time,” Alice let go of his hand, looking aggrieved: “Your new apprentice got lost, so I kindly helped him find his way home. But this big brother was very naughty and actually lied to me. He said you took some medicine you shouldn’t have… and that if you saw me, you’d strip off all my clothes, and then…”
“Ahem…” Raymond Brooks started coughing violently, his face almost turning green. He wished he could dig a hole and crawl into it. This little girl was just too devious, too powerful.
At this point, there was nothing left to explain. It was just like back when he first got online and was almost tricked by a catfish—he was simply outmatched, nothing more to say.
“Princess, don’t believe this cunning human,” Albert Harris also looked embarrassed and changed the subject: “This guy fell into the demon realm three days ago. I was planning to slowly test new potions on him, but although everything was fine at first, today none of the medicines work on him. While I was mixing a white potion, I accidentally caused an accident, and he took the chance to escape. Luckily, he ran into the princess.”
Princess! Raymond Brooks finally understood the true identity of this devious little loli. He had really run right into the lion’s den this time—no wonder he got caught. But Albert Harris calling him cunning? He absolutely couldn’t accept that. Compared to Alice, he was as pure as a white cup.
“All the medicines are ineffective?” Alice’s eyes lit up, as if she’d found a new toy. “I just went to the Rainy Jungle with Anna Morgan and brought back some interesting things. This is heartbreak grass, and this is rot-heart flower… Why not let this human try them?”
So the little basket didn’t contain fruit or flowers, but these “interesting” things? This girl was the real little devil. Before Raymond Brooks could protest, Stanley Reed had already tied him up with a rope and dragged him back to the lab.
An hour later.
Albert Harris’s frown deepened. Although the herbs from the depths of the Rainy Jungle were very potent, they still had no effect on Raymond Brooks.
Now the super system’s progress had reached 19.6%, but Raymond Brooks felt no joy at all: one crazy enthusiast was scary enough, but add a devious little loli, and the result was far more than just one plus one.
Because she liked to play pranks with mildly poisonous potions, Alice had always been interested in pharmacology and was considered half an apprentice to Albert Harris. Resting her chin in her hands, she thought for a moment and said, “Master, you’ve only used negative-effect potions. Why not try a buff potion?”
Albert Harris thought this was a good idea. He opened an iron cabinet, selected a bottle of red potion, and said, “Let’s try this potent strength potion first.”
Stanley Reed respectfully took the potion and poured it down Raymond Brooks’s throat. Raymond Brooks immediately felt a surge of heat inside, as if he’d been injected with a stimulant. His strength skyrocketed, and the ropes binding him instantly snapped apart.
Stanley Reed, eager to impress the princess, lunged at him, baring his teeth and claws, trying to subdue him. Raymond Brooks, with nowhere else to vent his excess strength, immediately started grappling with him. Normally, even after drinking the strength potion, Raymond Brooks would have a hard time beating Stanley Reed, but Stanley Reed didn’t dare use lethal force in front of the princess and the master, while the human, pumped up on stimulants, fought desperately, so Stanley Reed was completely overpowered and couldn’t fight back at all.
Stanley Reed’s cries for help grew louder and louder, but Albert Harris and Alice had no intention of helping. Raymond Brooks had long held a grudge against this bully, so he took the chance to give him a good beating. Of course, he didn’t dare lay a hand on Albert Harris or Alice—those two were terrorists, not to be messed with.
Strangely, the super system didn’t absorb the energy from this buff effect, only increasing progress by a tiny bit, now at 19.7%.
When Little Demon was lying on the ground, bruised and battered, barely breathing, the effects of the potent strength potion finally wore off. Albert Harris carefully observed the now-calm Raymond Brooks, once again showing a look of shock.
“The potent strength potion can greatly increase strength, but it still contains some side-effect ingredients. After the effect wears off, you should be extremely weak. Why is he completely fine?”
Alice asked in surprise, “Could it be that you, Master, have created a true strength potion with no side effects?”
Albert Harris’s spirits lifted, but he immediately shook his head and sighed, “Impossible. That formula has long been lost, and only a legendary grandmaster could make it. There isn’t a single bottle in the entire demon realm.”
