Chapter 17

Raymond Brooks had no choice but to help her tidy up, but accidentally “picked up” a pile of underwear—some of which were actually large-sized with lace trim. Raymond Brooks was stunned. His first reaction was that this world already had such things, and his second reaction was that these sizes were completely mismatched with a certain undeveloped part of the little loli’s body. Could it be that Alice was some kind of legendary “enthusiast”?

Under Alice’s murderous glare, Raymond Brooks pretended not to see the pile of things and turned to clean up other items. When he turned back, that pile had already disappeared.

The items in Alice’s storage space were quite complete. Soon, a full set of picnic gear was laid out. It seemed this little loli was always prepared for an outing.

At this moment, Anna Morgan and Julia Evans had not yet returned. Alice, seeing no one around, walked step by step toward Raymond Brooks. Raymond Brooks felt a wave of nervousness and asked, “Little princess, is there anything else you need?”

“The plot isn’t like this,” Alice revealed a mischievous smile and said, “You’re supposed to say, ‘Don’t come any closer, if you do I’ll call for help!’ Then I’ll say, ‘Scream all you want, no one will come to save you!’”

Raymond Brooks felt a bunch of black lines hanging from his forehead, rolled his eyes, and retorted, “Then I’ll just shout ‘Help, help!’ and the person named ‘No One’ will come save me?”

Alice looked surprised: “So the human world also has the book ‘The Demon King and the Princess’.”

Raymond Brooks smiled mysteriously and didn’t respond. It seemed many things were universal, regardless of dimension or race.

But then he couldn’t smile anymore, because Alice said, “Tell this princess a nice story, just like that prehistoric world one last time. Your imagination is pretty rich.”

Raymond Brooks’s heart skipped a beat and he protested, “That wasn’t a story, it was a real event! If I hadn’t inherited Master Wukong’s divine sense, how could I have made the Huarong Road puzzle and the Kongming lock?”

“I’ll tell you a secret, even Anna Morgan doesn’t know,” Alice lowered her voice mysteriously and said, “The first time I met you, I happened to awaken a special bloodline talent from the Lucifer royal family called mind reading, and… I accidentally tried it on you.”

Raymond Brooks was shaken to his core and couldn’t speak for a moment.

Accidentally, my ass!

Chapter 8: Snow White’s Revenge

Hearing that Alice could read minds, Raymond Brooks was so shocked he could hardly control himself: So she knows everything? Including the super system, and transmigration?

“Don’t worry,” Alice looked at his shocked expression with pride, “My mind reading is still very weak. I can only tell if you’re lying, I can’t read your actual thoughts. For example, I can’t tell if you have a crush on Julia Evans.”

Hearing that she couldn’t read specific thoughts, Raymond Brooks immediately breathed a sigh of relief and began to doubt whether Alice could really read minds. As for the part about having a crush, there was no need to explain. Julia Evans was indeed a femme fatale, but let’s not even mention whether she’d be interested in him. Even if she was, for the sake of his own life, he’d better not get involved. The highest level of being a “dried meat man” should be left to others.

“All right! Mind reading is too exhausting. Every time I use it, I have to rest for several days, so I can’t be bothered to use it on you.” Alice stretched lazily. “I’m so tired. If only someone would tell me a story.”

The laziest person was actually complaining about being tired? Raymond Brooks inwardly despised Alice’s work ethic. In any case, when it came to mind reading, better to believe it than not. This little loli was a little witch—better to humor her for now.

So, Raymond Brooks told the little loli a funnier, enhanced version of “The Demon King and the Princess.” This silly little story was just to her taste, and her big eyes sparkled as she listened. But when she heard that the demon king committed suicide at the end, she looked dissatisfied and strongly demanded that the protagonist be changed to an evil human hero and a kind-hearted witch.

Raymond Brooks scratched his head. He was now an “apprentice” of Aldas, which meant he’d joined the demon world and could be considered a traitor to humanity. All thanks to this tragic soul transmigration—if he were in the surface world now, he might be living it up, at least enjoying the life of a rich second generation under Arthur’s name.

But here in the demon world, he could only focus on staying alive for now. Maybe there’d be a chance to escape back to the human world. Then maybe he could say to the little loli with deep feeling: Sorry, I’m an undercover agent.

Just then, Julia Evans came back carrying a basket full of fruit. The blue dragon fruit and dried walnuts looked similar, but were much bigger, with thin skin and fragrant flesh. Raymond Brooks tasted one—it was a bit like pistachio, a bit like longevity fruit, and utterly addictive. No wonder the little loli insisted on coming to Blue Wave Lake.

Soon, Anna Morgan also returned to the hilltop, bringing a few fish and two goat-like animals, already skinned and cleaned. The fish were caught in the mountain streams—the water in Blue Wave Lake was too poisonous for anything to live in it.

“Strange, it’s only been two months since I was last here, but there are a lot fewer animals around,” Anna Morgan said with a puzzled look. “This is all I could get today. I wonder if it’ll be enough…”

Six fish and two “goats” still not enough? Raymond Brooks was shocked: There are only four of us, three girls and one guy—are you all gluttons?
