A trace of surprise flashed in William Parker’s eyes. No wonder this beautiful young woman was so bold—faced with such a situation, not only did she not call the police, but she even attacked William Parker. So, she had actually trained before. Moreover, from the force in the girl’s movements, William Parker judged that she actually possessed strength equivalent to the first level of the acquired realm, with five hundred jin of force in her legs!
The girl, whose body had been seen by William Parker, now struck out in anger, completely forgetting the consequences. If William Parker were an ordinary person, that kick alone would have left him half dead, if not killed him outright.
As William Parker watched the beautiful girl’s foot kick toward him, he slightly shifted to the left, and his palm casually brushed against her foot. Instantly, the girl felt her balance falter and fell backward toward the ground. With quick reflexes, William Parker moved lightly and caught the girl in his arms, preventing her from falling. This was a purely instinctive reaction—William Parker himself didn’t know why he caught her. If he had to find a reason, perhaps it was because he’d watched too many TV dramas as a child.
His left arm wrapped around the girl’s slender waist, soft and boneless to the touch, the sensation intense. The girl’s supple waist bent, her body arching like a bow, her prominent curves accentuated. The scene was instantly filled with ambiguity. The girl’s face flushed bright red, and she glared fiercely at William Parker. At this moment, William Parker, looking at the girl in his arms, was also struck by her beauty.
Just as the girl was about to react, a voice called out, “Miss, the master and madam have come to see you.” Immediately after, three people entered the room, which hadn’t been closed. Upon seeing the scene before them, their gazes froze, and the girl’s body instantly stiffened.
William Parker glanced over at the newcomers. Leading the way was a middle-aged couple. Though marked by the passage of time, their faces still looked youthful. Behind them was a woman in her forties dressed as a servant.
The girl in William Parker’s arms was named Emily Carter, and the middle-aged couple who had just entered were her father, James Carter, and her mother, David Turner. The woman behind them was the servant, Aunt Miller. James Carter and his wife didn’t live in this villa—they were from out of town and had only come today to visit their daughter. Usually, only Emily Carter and Aunt Miller lived in the villa. Emily Carter hadn’t known her parents were coming; she only knew that Aunt Miller had mysteriously gone out today. This was all deliberately arranged by James Carter and his wife, hoping to surprise their daughter. Unexpectedly, their daughter gave them an even bigger ‘surprise’!
Chapter 4: Fiancée?
“Xin’er, how could you be so reckless!” After a moment of shock, James Carter scolded Emily Carter, his face darkening. He never expected Emily Carter to do something so improper. David Turner also looked at Emily Carter, her gaze filled with surprise and displeasure.
At this moment, Emily Carter was so mortified she wanted to kill William Parker. She straightened up and pushed William Parker away, stammering as she tried to explain to James Carter, “Dad, it’s not what you think, it’s him—” Emily Carter was clearly anxious; she hadn’t expected things to turn out like this.
Glancing at Emily Carter’s attire, James Carter didn’t listen to a word she said. His face grew darker and darker, as gloomy as water, and there was even a faint murderous aura about him, pressing down on Emily Carter’s heart. However, William Parker didn’t feel the slightest bit of pressure. Instead, he looked at James Carter in surprise, his gaze shifting as if deep in thought.
“Dad, this lunatic barged in here out of nowhere—I don’t even know him!” After sorting out her words, Emily Carter spoke anxiously again. She knew that although her father doted on her and indulged her in everything, there was one exception: her boyfriend. Her father, James Carter, was absolutely opposed to her having a boyfriend, with no room for compromise. She didn’t understand why her otherwise open-minded father was so stubborn about this one thing. At nineteen, full of youthful longing, she was already at the age for romance.
Hearing Emily Carter’s words, James Carter turned his gaze to William Parker. Despite his tattered clothes and messy long hair, William Parker’s extraordinary bearing was unmistakable—especially those eyes, pure yet shining with intelligence, making James Carter feel as if he couldn’t see through him, as if they were bottomless.
William Parker also sized up James Carter. Though not physically imposing, he gave off an impression of solidity and strength. Most importantly, William Parker found those weathered, deep eyes of James Carter strangely familiar.
“Who are you?” James Carter stared intently at William Parker, a faint aura emanating from him and enveloping William Parker. This was the unique presence of a strong man forged through countless battles—killing intent!
William Parker had no doubt that if his answer displeased the other party, James Carter would strike in an instant. With a sunny smile in his eyes, he called out, “Uncle Hai!”
“Uncle Hai?” Both James Carter and Emily Carter were stunned, looking at William Parker with puzzled expressions. Emily Carter angrily retorted, “You crazy pervert, what nonsense are you spouting?”
“Who are you, and why are you calling me that?” James Carter stared at William Parker in confusion. In his memory, he didn’t know anyone named William Parker.
“William Parker!” Looking at James Carter, William Parker stated his name. He finally understood why someone was living in his house, and why nothing in the home’s arrangement had changed.
