Chapter 12

“Dong, dong, dong”—in the early morning, the sound of knocking on the door rang out, and outside the room came James Carter’s voice: “Emily, get up!”

William Parker opened his eyes and sat up, only to see Emily Carter lying obediently on the opposite bed, the scissors in her hand tossed aside, still hugging a stuffed bear doll in her arms.

Hearing the call, Emily Carter lazily stirred, then suddenly sat up straight, looking nervously at William Parker across from her, and asked, “Did you do anything last night?”

Emily Carter’s eyes were bloodshot, clearly she hadn’t slept well last night. Her wary gaze fixed on William Parker, making William Parker find it a bit amusing. “What could I possibly do to you?” His eyes swept over Emily Carter’s soft and charming figure, and William Parker got up with a smile.

“Pervert, you’d better explain yourself clearly.” Emily Carter immediately threw the bear in her hand at William Parker, then climbed out of bed and followed after him.

The door opened. James Carter stood outside, smiling faintly at the two of them, muttering, “So quick, not bad. Looks like it’s time to start preparing for your wedding.”

“Uh!” William Parker gave an awkward smile, then headed to the bathroom. Emily Carter, seeing her father’s meaningful smile, blushed instantly, stomped her foot hard, checked herself for any signs of disarray, and sighed inwardly at her own carelessness for sleeping so soundly.

Next, under James Carter’s surprised gaze, Emily Carter actually started rummaging through boxes and cabinets, tidying up her clothes.

“Emily, what are you doing?” James Carter was slightly stunned by his daughter’s actions.

“Changing rooms!” Emily Carter replied coolly. She really couldn’t handle William Parker anymore; his shamelessness had reached a whole new level, yet he still pretended to be so pure and honest. She had no doubt that if she didn’t switch rooms, William Parker would definitely stick around in her room every day. Just thinking of that dreadful outcome made Emily Carter’s heart ache.

James Carter was speechless, but secretly pleased: “Looks like William Parker is quite capable, at least not as simple as he appears on the surface.”

After breakfast, James Carter and his wife set off to leave. Before departing, James Carter reminded William Parker to work hard. As for William Parker’s schooling, James Carter had already arranged everything. Today, William Parker could go directly to Jinghua University, find the leaders at the Economics Department office, and someone would take care of him.

“My dear wife, when are we heading out?” William Parker asked Emily Carter.

“Stupid pervert, you’re you, I’m me. When we get to school, don’t say you know me. And don’t expect me to listen to Dad and take you to school. Go if you want, I don’t care.” Emily Carter huffed at William Parker, walked straight out the door, and left. William Parker gave a wry smile—looks like Emily Carter was still angry. Luckily, before leaving, James Carter had given him a bank card and quite a bit of cash, otherwise William Parker would really be penniless.

Jinghua University, the best university in Tianjing City—without exception—and also one of the top institutions in Huaxia. William Parker took a taxi to the entrance of Jinghua University, gazing at the grand and luxurious buildings, sighing inwardly. He wondered what kind of status Uncle Hai had, to so casually arrange for him to enter Jinghua University. What’s more, he was only a transfer student going straight from junior high to university. In Huaxia, countless wealthy and powerful families would do anything to get their children into Jinghua University.

After three years, William Parker once again set foot on a school campus, feeling emotional. Seeing such a handsome and sunny young man, many girls cast curious and amazed glances his way, wondering which department William Parker belonged to.

“So handsome!” a girl stared at William Parker in a daze. His flowing hair, upright posture, and face radiated a sunny aura. Especially his eyes—they were particularly captivating. Although he looked like a rich kid, the light in his eyes was so pure, without a trace of impurity.

Sensing her gaze, William Parker turned to her and smiled gently, “Hello, my name is William Parker. Could you tell me where the Economics Department office is?”

The girl’s cheeks flushed, her heart involuntarily pounding, and she replied a bit nervously, “Hello, my name is Jessica Scott. You’re looking for the Economics Department administration center, right? Just go straight this way, then turn left. There’s a Zhixing Building, and all the departments’ administration centers are there.”

“Handsome guy, are you going to the Economics Department administration center? I can take you!” Nearby, a few girls were curiously sizing up William Parker, and one bold girl spoke up with a smile.

Jessica Scott’s expression changed slightly. Seeing that the other girl was prettier than herself, she felt a tinge of disappointment. William Parker shook his head at the bold girl, then looked back at Jessica Scott and asked, “Could you take me there?”

“Mm, of course!” Jessica Scott’s face immediately lit up at William Parker’s words, and she nodded with a smile.

The bold girl’s smile froze, and she snorted coldly before walking away. Just then, exclamations rang out: “Henry Clark, it’s Henry Clark!”

“Henry Clark!” William Parker’s steps faltered slightly. It seemed that the girl he had saved in the mist of Tianmai Mountain was called Henry Clark.

Turning his gaze, William Parker once again saw that beautiful face. Henry Clark was still dressed in snow-white clothes, with jet-black hair, shining eyes, and a slender, perfect, devilish figure—she stood out brilliantly in the crowd.
