“Go put some clothes on.” Rachel Harris roared at the person opening the door, startling them so much that they hurriedly closed the dorm door to a crack, then woke up the other two as well.
Not long after, the dorm room door opened again, and three figures appeared in sight, all flashing ingratiating smiles at Rachel Harris. However, the gloomy-faced Rachel Harris showed no sign of softening, and said coldly, “Who was shouting just now? Feeling cocky, huh?”
Silence is golden!
“Daniel King, Brian Hughes, you two are pretty arrogant, aren’t you!” Looking at the two among them, Rachel Harris wore a cold smile.
“Senior, please don’t take it to heart. We thought it was some jerk deliberately causing trouble.” The boy called Daniel King smiled and explained. They all knew that the beautiful counselor in front of them might look gentle, but when she lost her temper, she was fierce. Especially her signature move: “So-and-so, come to my office for a cup of tea.” Once you went, you could forget about coming back for half a day. There was never any corporal punishment, but sitting there being sized up by passing teachers like a monkey—anyone who’d been through it knew how that felt!
“Hmph, since there’s a new student today, I’ll let you off this time.” Rachel Harris snorted, then adjusted her glasses and smiled at William Parker, saying, “From now on, you’ll be living in this dorm. Don’t let these idiots lead you astray.”
The three, hearing Rachel Harris’s words, looked as if they’d been granted amnesty. Then they turned their attention to William Parker. Daniel King spoke up again, “Bro, our 132 finally has all its spots filled. Come on, from now on, we’re family.”
The other two quickly chimed in, as enthusiastic as could be, as if William Parker were their own brother. They came up and put their hands on William Parker’s back, leading him into the dorm.
“Hmph!” Rachel Harris shot them another cold glare. She knew exactly what these little rascals were up to, but said nothing and left directly.
As soon as Rachel Harris left, the three who had been crowding around William Parker instantly dispersed, laughing awkwardly. Daniel King, who was about the same build as William Parker and quite handsome, sized William Parker up carefully and said, “Damn, I feel a lot of pressure. No wonder even the senior looks at you differently. Hey bro, why don’t you win her over? That way, the rest of us can relax a bit.”
“Yeah, the senior may have a bit of a temper, but that figure, that face, especially those curves—she’s top-notch. Back in the day, she was on the campus beauty rankings, you know. Most importantly, I heard she’s never had a boyfriend.” Brian Hughes, who was a bit shorter than William Parker but much more burly, spoke with a hearty air.
The other person beside them was Matthew Ward, who looked a bit frail and was shorter, his face a little pale, and his squinting eyes made him look like a...
William Parker smiled wryly to himself—these three roommates were all characters. With a slight smile, William Parker said, “Hi everyone, my name is William Parker!”
“I’m Daniel King!”
“Brian Hughes!”
“Matthew Ward!” The three all introduced themselves.
“William Parker, now that you’re in 132, we’re brothers from now on. At noon, the three of us will treat you to a welcome meal at Jinghua Club.” Daniel King said heartily. Compared to earlier, there was a clear sincerity in his eyes now. The other two immediately agreed. It was rare to be assigned to the same dorm in college, and they were all a bit curious about this handsome, sunny transfer student.
William Parker didn’t stand on ceremony, nodding in agreement. They chatted casually for a bit, then the other three hurried to wash up—class was about to start. William Parker also tidied up his things. Besides staying in the dorm during the day to rest and hang out, he would go back at night, and so would Emily Carter. This was something James Carter had specifically instructed, for obvious reasons—to help the two develop their relationship.
The freshmen in the economics department were quite famous on campus, for one reason: among the campus beauty rankings, three freshmen made the list, and two were from the economics department. Aside from the top-ranked Henry Clark from the music department, the second-ranked Emily Carter and fifth-ranked Lily Morgan were both economics students. Emily Carter was in Class 3 of the economics department, Lily Morgan in Class 1, and William Parker was also assigned to Class 1.
Chapter 10 Charles Reed
As freshmen had just entered campus, their courses were all arranged by the school. As it neared eight o’clock, the four from William Parker’s dorm went to the classroom together. The spacious classroom was already filled with quite a few people.
When William Parker walked in, everyone turned to look. The boys’ eyes flashed with a hint of displeasure, while the girls’ eyes sparkled with excitement, staring unblinkingly at the handsome newcomer. The pure, untainted look in William Parker’s eyes, along with his gentle smile, made many girls’ hearts flutter.
“So handsome!” a girl exclaimed in surprise. Daniel King had been considered one of the most handsome guys in Economics Class 1, but now, standing next to William Parker, he seemed to pale in comparison. Smiling wryly, Daniel King glanced at William Parker and said, “Bro, you’ve totally stolen my thunder this time!”
The only one who didn’t look up was a girl sitting in the middle. She was still engrossed in her book, her gaze hidden from the crowd.
