Chapter 13

“Ah, Henry Clark!” The quiet of the campus morning was shattered by a scream. Jessica Scott showed not the slightest hint of surprise—this sort of thing happened every day on campus. She simply glanced enviously at Henry Clark, a trace of inferiority flickering in her eyes. The number one beauty of the music department, Henry Clark, was also at the very top of the campus beauty rankings at Jinghua University, hailed as the most beautiful woman at the university. Though only a freshman, she had defeated many strong and beautiful rivals shortly after the start of school to claim the top spot in the campus beauty contest.

Of course, Henry Clark herself didn’t care much about being number one on the beauty list. Beautiful, pure, and dressed in white as pure as snow, Henry Clark left everyone at Jinghua University with the impression of being: beautiful, gentle, elegant, pure, and low-key!

If it hadn’t been for the fact that Henry Clark was specially invited to attend the university’s welcome ceremony, few would have known that Jinghua University had such a talented and stunning girl. That time, Henry Clark’s graceful dancing, extraordinary piano skills, and singing conquered all the audience, and countless boys became infatuated and obsessed with her.

“Henry Clark, I love you!” Another wailing shout echoed across the Jinghua University campus, shaking heaven and earth.

“You’re fucking looking for trouble! Even a lazy toad wants to eat swan meat!” a dissatisfied male student cursed at the shouter.

But Henry Clark ignored everyone, walking forward indifferently. Though pure and beautiful, there was not a trace of arrogance or conceit about her. This was one of the reasons she was able to defeat so many beautiful rivals who were no less attractive than she was.

“Let’s go.” After a glance, William Parker turned his gaze and spoke to Jessica Scott.

“Ah!” Jessica Scott looked at William Parker in surprise. This was the first time she had seen a boy remain so calm and indifferent after seeing Henry Clark. She nodded, and led William Parker toward the economics department’s administration center.

As if sensing something, Henry Clark lifted her gaze and saw William Parker’s back. Her eyes paused slightly—why did that back look so familiar?

“Wild man!” Suddenly, a figure flashed abruptly in Henry Clark’s mind, making her heart pound uncontrollably. But then, as if she thought of something, she gave a bitter smile. How could the wild man appear at Jinghua University and become a student!

Chapter 9: The Beautiful Counselor

At the economics department administration center, William Parker arrived downstairs and gave Jessica Scott a gentle smile. “Thank you!”

“It’s nothing, just a small favor.” Jessica Scott replied with a smile. “I’ll be off, then.”

“Mm!” Nodding, William Parker turned and entered the main doors of the economics department administration center. After asking the gatekeeper a few questions, he went straight to Room N523 on the second floor and knocked on the open door.

“Come in!” a crisp female voice called. William Parker entered the office. There were four desks inside, but three were empty. At the one occupied desk sat a woman of about twenty-four or twenty-five. Her long hair draped over her shoulders, her smooth bangs lay flat on her forehead, and her bright eyes, behind nearsighted glasses, gave her a pure and scholarly look.

The woman also sized up William Parker, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes at his extraordinary bearing.

“Hello, my name is William Parker!” Looking at the woman seated there, William Parker was the first to speak.

“So you’re William Parker!” The woman stood up, smiled slightly at William Parker, and said, “Hello, William Parker, I’m the economics department counselor, Rachel Harris. You can call me Ms. Harris, or you can call me ‘senior’!”

Rachel Harris had just graduated from Jinghua University herself. Because of her excellent grades, she was recommended for graduate studies, and at the same time worked part-time as a counselor for the freshmen, helping students handle various matters. That’s why she said this.

“Senior, what should I do now?” William Parker smiled gently and asked Rachel Harris.

“Here are the books and class schedule prepared for you. Take them. I’ll take you to the student dormitory first, and after that, you can just go to class with everyone else.” Rachel Harris pointed to the books beside her and spoke to William Parker.

William Parker nodded, stepped forward to pick up the books, and then followed Rachel Harris to the economics department student dormitory.

Building Six, Dorm S132. Rachel Harris knocked on the still-closed dorm door. After a few knocks, there was no response from inside.

“A bunch of lazybones, it’s already seven-thirty and they’re still not up.” Rachel Harris muttered to herself, then knocked even harder on the door twice.

“Who is it, making such a racket so early in the morning!” a rough voice called out, clearly annoyed at having his sweet dreams disturbed.

“Fuck your damn uncle, you’d better disappear right now!” Another disgruntled curse came from inside. Rachel Harris’s face immediately darkened. She hadn’t expected to be treated like this. Thinking of this, she kicked the door hard twice, making William Parker pause in surprise—so the seemingly quiet Rachel Harris could be this rough too.

“If you’ve got guts, don’t leave!” The voice sounded again. Soon after, the door was flung open, and a shirtless boy appeared in front of William Parker and Rachel Harris. He was about to explode, but when he saw that the visitor was the beautiful Rachel Harris, and that she was frowning, his heart skipped a beat and he immediately put on a fawning smile. “Senior, it’s you! Come in, have a seat.”
