“Sir, there was indeed a related incident a few years ago. On the streets near the China Grand Theater, there was a sudden massive destruction. The Stark family had several stores there that were also affected. Afterwards, the government explained it as an attack by a suicide bomber!” JARVIS answered in a timely manner.
Chapter 4 Iron Man Knows You’re a Transmigrator
As for the so-called official explanation, Tony Stark just felt utter disdain. If the words of the American government could be trusted, pigs could climb trees. As a big capitalist, he knew all too well the true faces of those people.
“So, you’re saying there’s really a story behind this?” Tony Stark said. “Although I don’t know how he found out, it seems like we can verify some things. JARVIS, find a way to hack into the Department of Defense’s internal network and see if you can dig up any records from back then!”
Tony Stark was also very curious to know whether it was really a suicide bomber that caused casualties along the entire street, or if, as this Brian Carter said, there was a so-called Hulk and another called Abomination.
Those two names didn’t sound like ordinary people at all.
Some kind of nicknames, maybe?
But this also confirmed Tony Stark’s earlier suspicion: this Brian Carter should be in America, or more specifically, in New York. That made things even clearer.
“JARVIS, that rich third-generation Brian Carter you mentioned earlier—is he in New York?” Tony Stark asked.
“According to the information currently available, he is indeed in New York!” JARVIS replied.
“Bingo, I guessed right!” Tony Stark showed a somewhat smug smile, then said.
As for the diary mentioning that firefighters couldn’t get their compensation, Tony Stark didn’t find it strange at all. After all, when it comes to being inhumane, capitalist governments have always excelled.
They even once suppressed World War I veterans—this is nothing in comparison!
“Did you find anything about the so-called Robert Downey Jr. who supposedly looks like me?” Tony Stark inquired.
“Of all the people named Robert Downey Jr. found so far, not a single one looks like you, sir!” JARVIS said.
Tony Stark frowned deeply. That meant not everything this Brian Carter said was true.
Meanwhile, Brian Carter was in his luxury apartment, writing in his diary while watching the news.
In fact, ever since he transmigrated to this world, he thought he would awaken some superpowers or get a system or something. But in the end, all he got was a diary system. As long as he wrote in his diary every day, he could accumulate some energy. When the energy bar in his mind was completely filled, he would get a chance to draw a prize.
And after finishing today’s diary entry, the energy bar would be filled for the first time!
He would also get his first lottery draw!
He felt inexplicably excited!
But soon, he noticed the news being broadcast on the TV beside him. It was a report about a bank robbery. Normally, this wouldn’t be anything special—in America, robberies aren’t exactly rare or bizarre news.
But when he saw the news footage, a figure appeared—a woman in ancient Greek-style armor who instantly defeated the robbers with lightning speed, then left the scene in style.
All of this was caught on camera.
He was stunned!
Because he was all too familiar with that woman, and couldn’t help blurting out,
“Wonder Woman?”
Brian Carter couldn’t help but say, practically thinking he was seeing things.
How could he see Wonder Woman here? This was even more outrageous than transmigrating into the Marvel world—he was in the Marvel world, and yet he saw Wonder Woman.
He even carefully recalled his predecessor’s memories. In those memories, there was no such thing as Wonder Woman. But now, Wonder Woman had appeared. Could this be a mixed Marvel-DC American comic world?
Brian Carter really felt completely bewildered!
He immediately recorded it in his diary.
He started off with three big “damn”s, which directly startled Tony Stark, who was still analyzing everything.
“What’s wrong with him?” Tony Stark was a bit confused.
Very soon, Tony Stark saw the diary continuously updating, and his worldview was a bit shaken.
At the same time, it wasn’t just Brian Carter whose worldview was shaken—Tony Stark’s was too.
“What does this mean? Transmigration? Marvel? Wonder Woman? Superheroes? What are all those?” Tony Stark was dumbfounded, feeling like the amount of information was just overwhelming.
“JARVIS, explain to me, what is transmigration?” Tony Stark even asked a bit uncertainly.
“According to the information currently available, transmigration refers to a person reaching another world. There are quite a few such terms in current literature, anime, film and television, and even games. Do you need me to list them out?” JARVIS replied.
“No need, I just wanted to check if I misunderstood something!” Tony Stark said. “And about superheroes—when we talk about superheroes, is it just Captain America?”
