Chapter 12

"You have a lot you don't know," James Carter curled his lips. "Do I have to tell you everything? Do I have to report to you if I'm in a relationship? You're my sister, not my mom."

Baby Carter suddenly became alert. "You're in a relationship? What kind of vixen dares to seduce my little brother?"

"Can't be bothered to talk to you." James Carter pulled a cigarette from his pocket, stuck it in his mouth, and walked toward the parking spot.

Baby Carter, in high heels and carrying her purse, hurried after him.

Inside the little red Mustang, Baby Carter started the car, her smile blooming like a flower. "Your sister is in a good mood today, I'll take you out for a feast."

But James Carter was uninterested. "Let's just order takeout. I don't feel like going out, I want to go home and rest."

His legs were still weak.

"How boring!" Baby Carter wrinkled her nose, her eyes darting as she shyly lowered her head. "Good little brother, you did a great job today. When we get home, your sister will reward you with that..."

James Carter's body jolted. "You said it, no backing out!"

Baby Carter bashfully nodded. "Mm!"

The little red Mustang sped out of the parking spot.

It was 11 a.m. now, and the traffic wasn't as heavy as during rush hour. In just over forty minutes, the siblings were home.

James Carter held Baby Carter's hand as they rushed into the elevator, pressing the button hard. The elevator slowly rose and stopped on the sixth floor.

James Carter took out the key to open the door. With the key in the lock, he took a deep breath and looked at his charming and beautiful sister. "Sis, we're home."

Baby Carter lowered her head. "Mm!"

"I'm so excited, so nervous, I feel like my heart's about to jump out," James Carter said.

"Idiot!" Baby Carter shot him a flirtatious glare.

"The last time we... was half a month ago," James Carter said excitedly. "I've held back for half a month, and you finally agreed today."

"Hurry up and open the door," Baby Carter urged.

James Carter twisted the key and pushed the door open.

A few minutes later, powerful music blared in the room, along with James Carter's loud shouts: "Sis, heal me, give me a heal!"

"Aiyo, pay attention! Thresh hooked me, and you're still warding the river..."

"Why are you playing support? Duo with me as AD, let's crush them..."

"It's over, it's over, they got a double kill, our bot lane is doomed."

Baby Carter: "Shut up, I know how to play."

"Why are you running around? Come over here, I'll heal you."

"Aiyo, I got trapped by a trap, help me!"

"Why are you ulting in the bush? See, the AD flashed away."

"Useless, I'm dead. I'm not playing with you next time. I just ranked up to Silver, wuwu..."

By 3:30 in the afternoon, after five consecutive losses, the siblings simultaneously threw down their mice. James Carter stood by the table, Baby Carter stood on the bed, both blaming and mocking each other. Baby Carter's trash-talking skills weren't as strong as her brother's, so she grabbed a pillow and smacked him on the head. James Carter retaliated in anger, grabbing another pillow to fight back.

The pillow fight ended with Baby Carter's unexpected victory. She chased James Carter and beat him all the way from the bedroom to the living room, then from the living room to the kitchen, until James Carter finally escaped back to the bedroom and locked the door.

James Carter flopped onto the bed, gasping for breath, feeling both weak and exhausted. The system had just drained his energy that morning; otherwise, he'd be the one pinning Baby Carter down, showing off while his sister cried and begged for mercy.

A wave of drowsiness hit him, and he fell asleep. At 7 p.m., Baby Carter came knocking, calling him to get up for dinner.

They had takeout for dinner; Baby Carter couldn't cook. After eating, he went back to his room to sleep.

At 4 a.m., he woke up. He tossed and turned, unable to fall back asleep, feeling unusually energetic.

"System, I can't sleep."

"Host, I don't have a hypnosis function."

"No, no, no, I want to learn that energy cultivation manual. You screwed me over today, I don't want to go through that again."

"Creating a training plan for the host right away, please wait!"

A few seconds later, a system interface popped up in front of James Carter, displaying his cultivation schedule.

"One: Get up at six every day and run for an hour.

Two: Practice the Twelve Duan Brocade!"

"I've only heard of the Daoist Eight Duan Brocade," James Carter said.

"The Twelve Duan Brocade is a type of qi cultivation method summarized by the system. If you don't like the name, you can call it Tai Chi."

"Fine, the name doesn't matter, but what if I don't know how to do it?"

"Please pay one hundred points, and the system will automatically instill it into your brain."

So expensive!

James Carter complained inwardly, then chose to pay.

His mind buzzed, as if something was forcibly crammed in. He lost consciousness, and after an unknown amount of time, his thoughts gradually returned. James Carter opened his eyes, feeling that he had inexplicably mastered the Twelve Duan Brocade.

"Damn, is this the legendary enlightenment technique?" James Carter was shocked. "How does this even work?"

"Humans record and store information through the brain..." The system rattled on.

"Sounds impressive, but I don't get it," James Carter still didn't understand, but he didn't dwell on it. He put on his clothes, tiptoed out of the room, and found the living room pitch black, Baby Carter's door closed. He put the key in his pocket, left the house, and locked the door behind him.
