“This bastard is showing off again, coming back in his sports car.” John Thompson gritted his teeth, expressing the jealousy of a minor rich kid toward a super rich kid.
“That seems to be the belle of the Foreign Languages Department, she really is pretty.” David Harris sighed.
“He drives a sports car, takes beautiful girls out to have fun, while we losers can only sit together in an internet café and play games.” Evan Parker also sighed, “It’s not that we lost at the starting line, it’s that he was already at the finish line the moment he was born.”
James Carter suddenly remembered when he used to study history, how Liu Bang and Xiang Yu saw Qin Shi Huang’s southern tour, with endless banners, spears like a forest, and a magnificent carriage. Liu Bang sighed and said: ‘A real man should be like this.’
The internet café they frequented wasn’t big, and the facilities and environment weren’t as good as the neighboring ones, but only this one allowed smoking. A real man can go without smoking, but how can a real man who plays games not smoke?
The group turned on their computers, the clatter of keyboards filling the air as they logged in with their account passwords. While waiting for matchmaking, they each lit a cigarette. The four of them wore the same expression, eyes full of disdain, lips curled, as if they were the kings of the world. Who cares about his Porsche, who cares about the rich and handsome, who cares about his fun with girls? So what if she’s the department belle? Is the department belle more important than teammates? Teammates who stick together through life and death, never abandoning each other? Teammates who risk their lives to save you—teammates are true love.
Their battlefield began. No matter who was sitting on the other side of the computer, the heroes of Dorm 303 were never afraid. To quote a certain great man: Tactically, take your enemy seriously; strategically, look down on them.
The four members of Dorm 303 each had their own traits. Evan Parker was the hothead who would charge forward even against a thousand men—he was suited to play the tank. John Thompson was cunning, liked sneaky tactics and ambushes, so he played jungle. David Harris had great mechanics, so he played AD. James Carter had average hand speed and mechanics, but his game sense was unmatched—he was the team’s core, playing support.
The last teammate happily typed: “Wow, first time seeing no one wants mid, thank you all!”
John Thompson cheekily replied: “No need to thank me, son.”
“……”
The four of them skillfully made their way into the enemy jungle, ambushing the enemy jungler, while the mid laner stood under the tower dancing. James Carter pinged him repeatedly, but the guy didn’t react at all.
John Thompson warded the jungle, and moments later, all five enemies appeared on the map.
James Carter frowned and pinged danger, leading everyone to retreat. If only one enemy had entered the jungle, the ambush would have worked, but clearly the other side weren’t newbies—they wanted to force a team fight at the start. With only four on their side, they couldn’t and didn’t dare to engage, or they might get wiped and lose the game right away.
“What’s this guy doing?” John Thompson was a bit annoyed.
James Carter warded the river to prevent the enemy from sneaking in, then helped John Thompson take red buff.
“Gank mid at level three,” James Carter said. Then he went bot to support David Harris.
A moment later, “doublekill”
The enemy mid laner got two kills.
“What happened!” James Carter was dumbfounded.
“Damn, this idiot.” John Thompson yelled, “I pinged for ages, didn’t he see? Damn it, I ambushed and left the enemy mid with barely any health, and he just stood there watching… waited until the enemy flashed away before reacting, then flashed after him under the tower—seriously, trying to dive at level three?”
“How did you die!”
“I, I… I saw the enemy was low too, so I flashed after… who knew the guy had heal.”
James Carter thought for a moment: “Let’s try to gank again. If this guy is hopeless, just help 八两. Once you hit level six, come bot for a gank.”
After a while, John Thompson went top to gank, and with good teamwork, they got a kill.
Their team got first blood, but the enemy quickly struck back—mid was caught by the enemy jungler, and the two of them easily took his life.
John Thompson typed: “Mid, play safe.”
Two minutes later, mid died again.
John Thompson typed again: “Damn, can you look at the map?”
A minute later, the mid tower was gone.
John Thompson kept typing: “Elementary schooler?”
“You’re the elementary schooler, your whole family are elementary schoolers.” The mid laner seemed annoyed too.
John Thompson retorted: “If your skills aren’t elementary school level, I’ll eat shit live on stream.”
“Go ahead, I’m in middle school.”
“Who’d believe that.”
“I’m a girl.”
“If you’re a girl, I’ll cut my dick off live.”
Fifteen minutes in, the mid laner had died twelve times, with zero kills and zero assists.
James Carter glanced at the map—mid, bot, and jungle were all missing. He raised his eyebrows and pinged at dragon. Sure enough, three enemies were sneaking dragon, while their jungler showed up top to gank Evan Parker. Their own mid laner was still innocently farming minions. At dragon, James Carter and two others were fighting three enemies fiercely. Evan Parker was struggling to survive, but after running around, finally died.
Meanwhile, the fight at dragon was coming to a close. While the enemy was happily taking dragon, James Carter flashed in, used his ult, and stunned all three. John Thompson immediately joined the fight, used his ult to trap all three, and after sacrificing James Carter and David Harris, they wiped out the enemy and took the dragon as well.
