“In the afternoon, you guys interrupted me so much that I forgot to open my loot boxes. Please, go a little farther away, don’t disrupt my otaku energy field.” Brian Carter had absolutely no intention of comforting the admin, and flashed a flamboyant grin: “I still have 9 treasure chests left. Boys, watch me do a nine-in-a-row opening and blind you with my pay-to-win luck!”
As soon as he said this, all three roommates gathered around.
Opening nine treasure chests in a row was, without a doubt, a very thrilling thing.
The roommates had no hope for the old Brian Carter’s luck, but today’s Brian Carter, who had activated his otaku energy, was a mystery to all three. Each of them thought, maybe the boss really could pull off another miracle...
Chapter 011: The Big Sis and the Master Master Master Master
“This doesn’t make sense!”
Emily Parker stared intently at the computer screen, repeatedly watching a game replay.
She had a habit of recording her own battles in the arena and analyzing them afterward.
In the replay, a female knight named [Big Sis] fought a bloody battle with [Nana’s Guardian Rogue] for forty seconds, dying a truly miserable death.
“Babe, what’s wrong with you?” Megan walked over, looking at her bestie in confusion. “I went out shopping and came back, and you’re still sitting here in a daze?”
“You don’t get it.” Emily Parker didn’t take her eyes off the computer, muttering, “That bastard is way too flashy. I have to fight him again.”
Megan was shocked: “No way, did he crush you?”
Emily Parker looked pained: “It’s not just that I got crushed, it was downright inhuman abuse.”
Megan: “Did he ambush you with some dirty trick?”
Emily Parker looked even more pained: “The problem is, he wasn’t dirty at all. He just beat me so hard I couldn’t even get mad.”
“Who’s that good? Aren’t you supposed to be unbeatable in solo duels at Normal University?” Megan was even more surprised, a bit puzzled: “We’re talking about a famous player in Sword of Kings, right? You should know all of them. Who is this rogue? Could he be that mysterious pro who recently joined Telecom 1?”
“Even the pros aren’t this insane. I’ve fought a few pro players before—my win rate isn’t high, but I’ve never been beaten this badly, to the point where I couldn’t even see a glimmer of hope for a comeback.” Emily Parker slapped her mouse hard, then started furiously clicking on the little avatar of the Shadowdancer Rogue on the screen, gritting her teeth: “Bastard, let me click your little head, click your little hand... Oh heavens, oh earth, my nine-win streak! I was just one match away from a ten-win achievement, and you, you jerk, ended it!”
Megan couldn’t help but laugh and cry: “You’re really not being honest with yourself. I don’t see you clicking his little head at all! Please, can you be a bit more ladylike? Isn’t your mouse clicking a bit too... sensitive?”
“I’m going to poke his little thing a hundred times! Let my mouse cursor become an arrow of curses—curse him with impotence tonight, and curse his girlfriend to be a virgin for life!” Emily Parker suddenly stood up and collapsed into Megan’s arms, pitifully saying, “Merciful goddess, this poor monk is wounded. Please, have mercy and lend me your chest for support.”
Not only did she lean on Megan’s, ahem, indescribably prominent part, she also reached out and groped Megan’s little butt.
Megan broke free from the evil hand, fuming: “Monk, using the same trick hundreds of times is getting old. We’re about to graduate—do you think I’m still as clueless as I was in high school, letting you take advantage of me?”
“This just shows that this poor monk is devoted to you—hundreds of times and I never get tired of it. If it were any other girl, I’d have lost interest after a few tries. Look, you subconsciously puffed out your chest. Could it be that deep down, you feel a subtle sense of pride?” Emily Parker grinned like a rogue teasing a good woman, then said, “Seriously though, future star reporter, you’re so nosy—why not help me dig up who this mysterious master is?”
Megan: “I’m not a gaming reporter. Why don’t you ask Dustin about this?”
“True, I got so mad at that guy I lost my mind and forgot about Dustin, the gaming encyclopedia.” Emily Parker slapped her forehead, immediately pulled out her phone, and called Dustin.
Dustin, real name Ryan Morgan, was quite famous in the university’s gaming circle, considered a top-tier player in the School of Media. He had even formed a team that represented the School of Media in city tournaments and achieved good results. Rumor had it he was well-versed in all sorts of gaming gossip, earning him the nickname “gaming encyclopedia.”
“Big Sis, I know you can’t let it go, but all good things must come to an end.” As soon as Dustin picked up, he started comforting Emily Parker: “The team disbanded, and I’m upset too. After all, we’re about to graduate. I already promised my family I’d get a real job after graduation and quit gaming.”
“Screw you! You think you can read my mind? Who said I was calling about the team? So what if we broke up? I’ll just go solo from now on!” Emily Parker sounded fierce, but there was an unspoken sadness in her eyes. After a moment, she added, “I’m calling to ask about someone. Do you know if any pro player in Sword of Kings has the ID [Nana’s Guardian Rogue]?”
“Nana’s Guardian Rogue?” Dustin paused, his voice turning odd: “Sis, which eye of yours saw that he’s a pro player?”
