Chapter 18

Grace Walker and Sarah Cooper didn’t dare say a word at this moment, watching as the zombies surged forward like a tide of black ants, crazily slamming against the windows. Despair filled their hearts.

The entire vehicle was now covered with zombies. If you looked from the outside, you’d probably only be able to vaguely make out the outline of the minibus through the mass of corpses.

And these zombies didn’t just have numbers—they had strength. Under the crushing pressure of so many zombies, the minibus felt as if it were sealed in on three sides by thick walls!

In this situation, could they really break through?

Grace Walker was already ice-cold all over. She and Sarah Cooper clung desperately to the handrails. In the face of death and extreme terror, time seemed to slow down for her. The hideous faces surging outside the windows were reflected in her pupils, becoming clearer than ever before.

Were they really going to die here? Was he going to be killed by zombies too, just to save them?

At this moment, Grace Walker was overwhelmed with guilt. Meanwhile, in the driver’s seat, William Carter was completely focused, his mind clear, hearing only the voice from the starseed.

“Power charging, thirty percent. Tire second form activated, friction increased. Power charging, fifty percent, gear shift complete. Power charging, seventy percent, fuel supply ready...”

This initial form, modified by the starseed base vehicle, could unleash a peak instantaneous output of 1,500 horsepower during a sprint, with a maximum torque of 4,000 Nm, and featured 4×4 all-wheel drive.

Of course, this state couldn’t be maintained for long, or the fuel consumption would be terrifying. Normally, a truck with over 500 horsepower is already a top-tier heavy-duty truck, and one reaching 700 horsepower is a true behemoth.

With this kind of power, breaking through the zombie horde would feel like an ordinary car plowing through a bunch of traffic cones.

Chapter 10 Breaking Through the Siege

While the base vehicle was charging up, in the traffic ahead, the driver who had been rammed by William Carter was witnessing the minibus being surrounded by zombies, unable to move an inch.

The driver immediately felt schadenfreude.

“Idiot! Serves you right!”

He cursed while feeling lucky that he hadn’t been as stupid as that young man. He still held a grudge over William Carter bumping his car earlier, and now, seeing William Carter about to be devoured by zombies, he even felt a flash of satisfaction.

After such a huge shock and fear, his mind was completely twisted. All he wanted now was to reach the highway entrance as fast as possible and get under military protection.

It was all right in front of him—anyone who got in his way might as well just die!

But just then, a sudden, thunderous bang startled the driver out of his wits.

At the same time, the roar of an engine and the screech of tires skidding on the ground filled the air.

The driver was shocked and quickly looked back, instantly dumbfounded.

He watched as the minibus, surrounded by dozens of zombies and nearly swallowed by the horde, suddenly burst out like a rampaging prehistoric beast!

The tremendous impact sent many zombies flying. The minibus roared like a wild animal, crushing the fallen zombies beneath it, blood splattering everywhere as it charged forward!

In just a few seconds, the minibus accelerated to a terrifying speed, heading straight for the driver’s sedan!

“Ahhh!”

The driver was scared out of his wits and screamed, frantically yanking the steering wheel and swerving to the side of the road. Otherwise, his car would have been crushed by the minibus!

Even so, the powerful impact still clipped his car. The screech of tires rang out as his sedan was violently flung aside, spinning 180 degrees on the road before crashing into the guardrail!

The driver was left dizzy and aching, his head throbbing, and the airbag deployed, smacking him right in the face!

Meanwhile, the wild acceleration and impact were also felt inside the minibus.

Even though the two girls clung tightly to the handrails, they were still thrown off by the force, crying out as they were slammed to the floor. Luckily, the interior was lined with thick, soft carpet, so they weren’t hurt.

The minibus bucked wildly like a bull being ridden by a cowboy. Grace Walker and Sarah Cooper tumbled across the carpet, unable to get up. In their chaotic vision, all they could see through the windows were zombies being flung off, knocked down, and blood splattering across the doors—a shocking sight!

The minibus charged madly out of the pile of corpses! Like a steel beast, it tore a bloody path through the zombie horde and burst out, drenched in blood!

The zombies it knocked aside were sucked under the wheels, leaving blood and mangled flesh everywhere.

“Crack! Crack!”

The zombies in front of the minibus were like bugs on a highway, smashed directly against the windshield—only much louder.

And it wasn’t just a few, but dozens of zombies in a row!
