In the central magic square of the Light Magic Academy, a small skeleton, its entire body as black as ink, with seven bone spikes protruding from its back and holding a shimmering, ghostly little bone dagger, was darting around the square in all directions.
The black little skeleton’s bones had been refined by Ryan Carter, giving them a dark, faintly glowing sheen. The bone spikes on its back looked perfectly natural, not the least bit awkward or out of place, as if they were always meant to be there.
When it ran, its two little leg bones stretched and contracted like springs, and the seven bone spikes on its back flapped continuously as it moved. Although they couldn’t make it fly, they seemed to provide a boost, making it extremely fast. The little witch Lisa chasing behind it couldn’t hit it with any of her necromancy spells.
On this square of the Light Magic Academy, there were quite a few light magic students, as well as some huge stone pillars carved with exquisite patterns. The little skeleton weaved nimbly and eerily among the students and pillars, so agile that the little witch Lisa was left helpless.
Ryan Carter was momentarily stunned to see the little skeleton suddenly become so quick and agile. He hurriedly focused his mind, trying to command the little skeleton to return to his storeroom, but unfortunately, the little skeleton seemed completely unable to receive Ryan Carter’s mental command. It continued darting swiftly among the stone pillars and light magic students, causing them to shout and dodge in all directions.
The square was in chaos.
“Lisa, your necromancy department is getting more and more brazen lately. You actually brought these filthy dark creatures into our Light Magic Academy. Are you still upset about losing to me last time and trying to show off your skeleton warrior’s strength?” The junior light mage Erin looked at Lisa provocatively and said coldly.
Erin was seventeen, with short, wispy light blue hair, a beautiful fringe on her forehead, and sky-blue eyes like two dazzling sapphires. She wore a pure white light magic robe, with a diamond-shaped blue gem set in the chest, glowing with a hazy blue light that matched her eyes, making her look even more beautiful.
She was also a little beauty. Ryan Carter glanced at Erin, secretly comparing her to the little witch Lisa, and found that Erin was in no way inferior to Lisa. In fact, her chest was already beginning to show fullness, much more developed than Lisa’s.
“Erin, my business is none of your concern. Don’t think I’ll be afraid of you just because you’re from the Camplin family.” Lisa temporarily stopped chasing the little skeleton, snorted coldly, and said to Erin.
“Hmph, filthy dark creatures are absolutely not allowed in the sacred Light Magic Academy. Since you can’t take it away, let me help you!” Erin raised her hands with a look of holiness and slowly chanted a magic incantation: “Blade of Light, transform into a sword that purifies evil, cut down this lowly life—Light Sword Slash!”
A longsword made purely of blinding light appeared as soon as Erin finished her incantation. Under her command, it shot swiftly toward the little skeleton.
Ryan Carter’s little skeleton had been dodging everywhere. When Lisa stopped, the little skeleton also stopped dumbly. It didn’t react until Erin’s light sword slashed at it, and the sword stabbed directly into the bones of its chest.
The inky black skeleton, at the instant the light sword struck, suddenly glowed with a faint ghostly light. Then the light sword vanished, and a wisp of black smoke rose from the little skeleton’s chest. The little skeleton, having been struck, wobbled on its thin frame, then steadied itself, looking around with its coldly gleaming little dagger, as if trying to see who had hit it.
“Wow, this dark creature was struck by the holy light of light magic and didn’t fall apart immediately!”
“Yeah, it’s really strange. Light magic is supposed to be the nemesis of dark creatures. Its skeleton should have turned to ash under the holy light. What’s going on?”
“Ah... Could it be that the necromancy department has already figured out how to make dark creatures immune to the holy light of light magic? How is that possible? If that’s the case, wouldn’t the necromancy department’s dark creatures be way too powerful?”
……
Ryan Carter looked around and saw that the surrounding light magic students all wore shocked expressions, staring in disbelief at the little skeleton looking around.
For dark creatures of the necromancy department, when struck by light magic, in addition to normal damage, they also suffer extra harm. Higher-level undead creatures’ bodies would rot, and low-level ones like skeleton warriors should immediately turn to ash and disappear.
But now, this little skeleton refined by Ryan Carter’s magic artifact forging technique had overturned magical common sense, proving an unbelievable fact to both the light and necromancy students.
Exclamations of shock kept coming from the light magic students, and even Lisa was left dumbfounded, stunned by the toughness of this little skeleton.
