Chapter 2

“Che!” This was followed by many boys’ disdainful yet jealous voices, and Jason Carter was one of them. Because the Alliance Military Academy was just too difficult—it was basically an impossible mission. At least in Z City, where Jason Carter lived, no one had ever been admitted.

This boy’s name was Samuel Langley, the class monitor and student council president. He was handsome, came from a wealthy and influential family, had excellent grades, was good at sports, and was a great fighter. According to Jason Carter, he was the perfect protagonist template—born to be envied.

Others had secret crushes on Catherine Newman, but from the very first day of high school, Samuel Langley had started an open, aggressive, and possessive pursuit.

With two such outstanding and attractive people, everyone in the class naturally saw them as a couple, including Jason Carter, even though he was jealous and refused to admit it.

Of course, high school students weren’t allowed to date, but faced with such an exceptional boy, Mr. Parker wanted to say something but ultimately didn’t. Instead, she asked a few other top students about the schools they wanted to apply to.

Listening to one excellent student after another name their dream colleges, Jason Carter felt a burning discomfort in his heart.

“Tang Tang, have you decided which vocational college you want to apply to?” On the way home after school, Jason Carter’s best friend Bryan Taylor asked.

“Nope. What’s the point of thinking about that? When the time comes, there’ll be a way. When your bladder’s full, there’ll be a toilet. Let’s talk about it after the exams!” Jason Carter replied, riding his motorbike and pretending not to care.

“Heh heh!” As a longtime best friend, Bryan Taylor naturally understood Jason Carter’s inner anxiety. He didn’t say much, just replied, “Anyway, I’m not planning to keep studying. Three years of high school have made me dumb. If I wasn’t afraid of my old man beating me, I wouldn’t even bother taking the exams. After a couple months of fun, I’ll go into business with my dad.”

Jason Carter felt a bit envious. Bryan Taylor’s family business was doing pretty well—they were fairly well-off.

“You take two days off every week, and on the other three days you’re still late or leave early. With a life like that, you say high school made you dumb?” Jason Carter laughed.

“Look, Catherine Newman…” Suddenly, Bryan Taylor’s eyes lit up, and even the pimples on his face seemed to glow.

Following Bryan Taylor’s gaze, Jason Carter looked over.

Catherine Newman was wearing a snow-white tight top and skinny jeans that hugged her legs. Her chest was high and perky, her slim waist full of energy. Her tightly wrapped hips were round and shapely, and her long legs were straight and slender—she was absolutely stunning. Her pretty feet were in flat sandals, but she was still almost as tall as Jason Carter—a true model’s figure.

Catherine Newman was mixed-race, fairer than the other girls, with Western features, more defined facial structure, and a curvier, sexier body. For a high school girl, most pretty girls didn’t study, and the few who did rarely dressed up—at least not so provocatively.

Those who dressed sexy were usually the type with big chests and no brains, who couldn’t study and only knew how to flirt with boys.

But Catherine Newman was top-notch at studying and even better at dressing up—she almost never wore the same outfit twice. She knew how to show off her most beautiful and sexy side. By rights, she should have been the seductive type, but she never acted flirty or provocative with boys. She wasn’t shy about talking to boys, but generally didn’t like to, and she didn’t joke around with them—nor did she talk much with girls. Yet she never seemed cold, and she was a foodie who always brought snacks.

She didn’t like boys touching her arms, but often wore low-cut, tight T-shirts, boldly showing off her sexy cleavage and half of her perky, eye-popping curves. As for her snake-like sexy waist, as long as the weather allowed, it was always bare—and if it didn’t, she’d find a way to show it off anyway.

She was a complicated girl, but also a simple one. No matter what, she was definitely a heart-stealing enchantress.

Even the principal of this high school muttered on the first day he saw Catherine Newman: “Oh no, the enchantress has arrived.”

“She walks home, you know. Hurry up, use your super cool motorbike to give her a ride. Once she goes to college, you might only see her in your dreams.” Bryan Taylor said, swallowing hard.

Jason Carter’s heart raced, and he was instantly tempted.

At that moment, Catherine Newman was walking just ahead of them. Watching her walk, her sexy back and hips swaying, Jason Carter felt like he could barely breathe.

Immediately, the two of them tacitly slowed their motorbike to a snail’s pace, pushing forward with their feet on the ground, their eyes like lanterns, fixed on Catherine Newman’s stunning figure ahead.

He noticed that Catherine Newman walked in a straight line—so sexy, especially in those cute, sexy flat sandals.

Bryan Taylor said, “Go on, go up there, invite her onto your motorbike—the secondhand one you bought for 1,200 bucks. Come on, be a man…”
