Chapter 16

Even Jason Carter was extremely surprised, but he vaguely understood why this was happening. He could even clearly feel that he still had untapped potential.

James Walker absolutely couldn't believe it and thought the machine must be broken, so he immediately stepped forward and threw a punch. 133 kilograms.

Everyone exclaimed again, looking at James Walker with envy. James Walker felt both proud and conflicted.

"I don't believe it. Try punching again." James Walker looked at Jason Carter provocatively.

Jason Carter suddenly threw another punch.

"Oh my god." Some girls had already covered their mouths.

"I must be dreaming, I must be dreaming." Bryan Taylor stared at the number on the screen, mumbling in disbelief.

133 kilograms, exactly the same as James Walker.

A flash of hostility appeared in James Walker's eyes. He clenched his fist tightly, his muscles bulging and veins popping. With a loud shout, he punched again.

144 kilograms.

"James Walker is amazing." Everyone exclaimed. Even Lillian Grant's eyes lit up. Clearly, he hadn't expected James Walker to be this strong. He must have been hiding his strength before, only revealing most of it now after being provoked.

Then, James Walker looked at Jason Carter with pride.

A faint smile appeared at the corner of Jason Carter's mouth, that coldness and arrogance making him seem like a completely different person. Even Bryan Taylor felt a sense of unfamiliarity.

Without any preparation, he threw a punch directly.

"Impossible, oh my god, impossible."

Because the screen showed 144 kilograms. Once again, exactly the same as James Walker's number. At this moment, Lillian Grant looked at Jason Carter with eyes full of amazement and disbelief.

The first time Jason Carter's punch matched James Walker's could be called a coincidence, but the second time, it was definitely intentional.

This meant that the so-called loser in front of them could control his own strength—something only true experts could do.

Immediately, Lillian Grant stared at Jason Carter with suspicion. She even wondered if this seemingly frail boy was actually here to challenge the gym.

"You used stimulants." James Walker immediately pointed at Jason Carter and shouted loudly.

At once, many people cast suspicious glances at Jason Carter. After all, the performance of this skinny boy was far beyond their expectations.

However, Lillian Grant didn't really think so. Even if you used stimulants, at most your strength would increase by 20%, but right now Jason Carter hadn't even shown his full power, so his actual strength must be astonishing.

Putting all doubts aside for now, seeing the trainees looking a bit discouraged in the face of Jason Carter's performance, Lillian Grant said calmly, "Strength isn't everything. Speed and comprehension are the most important things in martial arts."

Then, Lillian Grant said to Jason Carter and Bryan Taylor, "Now, start with the basics—horse stance."

"Aren't we going to test speed too?" Jason Carter asked in surprise.

"No need," Lillian Grant replied.

"James Walker, take the trainees and practice freely." Lillian Grant waved his hand, then said to Jason Carter, "You two, come with me."

They walked over to two strange machines in the corner. Lillian Grant said, "These are horse stance machines. Get on and hold your horse stance."

Jason Carter and Bryan Taylor got on and assumed the horse stance, but their posture left much to be desired.

Lillian Grant immediately frowned. Jason Carter's horse stance was extremely awkward, even ugly. And it wasn't an act. Yet his strength was so great—it was hard to understand why.

"Squat lower, raise your head, chest out, stomach in, arms straight..." Lillian Grant picked up a stick and struck Jason Carter's arms, hips, and waist.

"Damn, this woman is really savage and cold-blooded." Jason Carter was in a lot of pain from the hits, but his horse stance became much more standard.

Seeing Jason Carter getting hit, Bryan Taylor immediately adjusted his own horse stance so he wouldn't get hit.

Once both of their stances were correct, Lillian Grant stepped forward to adjust the horse stance machines.

Two sharp spikes appeared under their hips, and sharp spikes pressed against the tops and bottoms of their arms, their lower backs, and their necks. Any slight movement would get them pricked.

"These metal spikes don't just stab you—they're electrified. If you haven't tried it before, feel free to give it a go," Lillian Grant said, then ignored them and walked away.

"How long do we have to hold this?" Jason Carter asked.

"Twenty minutes. If you can't even last ten, then just get lost—no refunds," Lillian Grant's words almost made Jason Carter collapse on the spot.

At first, Jason Carter felt fine, even a bit cocky, since he had just shown such impressive strength.

But after a few minutes, he started to feel something was wrong—his body was getting sore. Two more minutes later, it was almost unbearable; his whole body ached and hurt, and he was in agony.

Looking over at Bryan Taylor, he was trembling all over, his face turning pale, sweat pouring down his face, barely able to hold on.

It was bad enough not to look, but seeing this made Jason Carter feel even worse, as if he couldn't last another second—every second was torture.
