Chapter 10 Old Butler's Mission

"Rely on each other for survival?" Ethan Brooks murmured.

Grace Bennett hugged Ethan Brooks tightly, as if afraid he would run away: "Yes, rely on each other for survival, you and me."

Being held so tightly by this woman, Ethan Brooks didn't resist; his body actually enjoyed the feeling.

Human memory is divided into two types: one is the memory in the mind, the other is the memory of the body. So even if some people lose their memory, their bodies still remember certain instincts, like the ability to speak. Ethan Brooks thought, maybe this is the memory that comes with this body.

Maybe it was because of excessive blood loss, but Ethan Brooks felt his mind growing hazy.

"Still very sleepy?" Grace Bennett noticed Ethan Brooks looked a bit tired and asked gently.

"A little," Ethan Brooks replied.

"Then lie down and keep resting," Grace Bennett said softly.

"I want to talk a bit more," Ethan Brooks felt the dizziness growing stronger, but he really wanted to know more. He felt there was so much he wanted to ask—about this world, and about the woman in front of him. There were just too many things to ask.

"Rest first, please don't force yourself," Grace Bennett gently kissed Ethan Brooks's temple—a light, soft touch, and it felt wonderful.

"Alright," Ethan Brooks gave a wry smile. Even his proud willpower couldn't resist the exhaustion of his body now.

"From now on, I'll do my best to give you a happy life." Gently letting go of Ethan Brooks, she spoke softly.

"What's your name?" Lying down, Ethan Brooks suddenly asked.

"?"

"Um, I want to know your name," Ethan Brooks smiled awkwardly. With a new aunt appearing out of nowhere, he really didn't know how to address her.

"My name?" Grace Bennett looked at Ethan Brooks with her beautiful eyes.

"Is it inconvenient?" Ethan Brooks closed his eyes.

"Grace Bennett." She whispered in Ethan Brooks's ear, "But you have to call me Aunt Bennett, whether you've lost your memory or not. I won't compromise on this."

"...." Ethan Brooks said, "I'll try my best."

————————————————————————

When he woke up again, little aunt Grace Bennett was still sitting by his side.

"You're awake," Grace Bennett said softly. Her voice was always so gentle, no matter when.

"Mm." Ethan Brooks nodded. He wanted to call her Aunt Bennett, but found he just couldn't say it, so he changed and called her by her name: "Grace."

A hint of a smile flashed in Grace Bennett's beautiful eyes.

"You just woke up, you must be starving," Grace Bennett said to Old Butler, who had been standing by her side.

"Miss, since the young master has just woken up, I'll prepare something light," the elegant Old Butler said, standing beside Grace Bennett.

"Thank you, Abraham Lincoln," Grace Bennett said softly.

"My pleasure, Miss." Old ButlerAbraham Lincoln bowed gracefully and left the room.

A few minutes later, Old Butler gently knocked on the door.

Then he entered, pushing a dining cart.

Ethan Brooks was a bit surprised at the standard of living—did even light meals require such a fuss?

On the cart was a bowl of green, fragrant, unknown porridge, and several vegetarian dishes.

Grace Bennett personally brought over the bowl of porridge.

"Open your mouth," Grace Bennett said softly, apparently wanting to feed Ethan Brooks herself.

"I can do it myself," Ethan Brooks said, a bit embarrassed—he wasn't a child anymore.

"No," Grace Bennett said firmly.

"I feel a bit embarrassed," Ethan Brooks said.

"No," Grace Bennett insisted.

"But…"

"No buts. No means no," Grace Bennett was very persistent.

"Alright, sorry to trouble you," Ethan Brooks said, seeing how adorably insistent Grace Bennett was, and could only give in.

"Open wide," Grace Bennett immediately showed a victorious smile.

"Ahhh~~" Ethan Brooks opened his mouth.

Grace Bennett fed Ethan Brooks the porridge, one spoonful at a time.

"Miss," Old ButlerAbraham Lincoln, who had been standing to the side, smiled at Grace Bennett and said calmly, "I've already booked the tickets to the elven kingdom [Asterlana]. Now that the young master is awake, we can leave at any time."

"Alright," Grace Bennett nodded.

"We're leaving here?" Ethan Brooks asked.

"Yes, we're leaving," Grace Bennett smiled. "Although this place is a bit far from Fallen City, it's still within its sphere of influence. We need to leave here, to a place where Fallen City's claws can't reach."

"Fallen City?" Ethan Brooks raised his eyebrows.

"You don't even remember Fallen City?" Grace Bennett sighed, feeling even angrier at those who dared harm Ethan Brooks. But she also felt a bit happy—maybe it's good to forget Fallen City.

"No impression at all," Ethan Brooks said. If he did, that would be strange, he added silently in his heart.
