Chapter 19

“Fine, perhaps it’s a good thing you can’t remember.” Grace Bennett set the porridge aside and gently hugged Ethan Brooks. “Maybe this is a chance granted to you by the heavens, letting you leave that dangerous and dark place. That place isn’t suitable for you or me to live in.”

“After leaving there, I’ll always live with you.” Grace Bennett said softly.

“Relying on each other for survival?” Ethan Brooks smiled; these were words Grace Bennett had said before.

“Mm. Relying on each other for survival.” Grace Bennett replied.

“Together forever?” Ethan Brooks continued to ask.

“Mm, together forever.” Grace Bennett nodded, not knowing why Ethan Brooks was suddenly asking so many questions.

“Doesn’t that make us a couple?” Ethan Brooks put on a serious face and asked.

Grace Bennett suddenly gave a charming smile and flicked Ethan Brooks’s temple with her finger. “I feel like you’ve become a lot more glib after losing your memory.”

“Really?” Ethan Brooks was stunned. He knew that all the women he’d seen in his previous life, added together, couldn’t compare to even a tenth of Grace Bennett’s beauty.

Why does a woman like this have to be my aunt? Ethan Brooks thought to himself, suddenly resenting why he had to transmigrate into this boy’s body.

——————————————————————————

Maybe it was because the old butler Abraham Lincoln was quite the cook, or maybe it was because such a beauty was feeding him by hand, but either way, the long-sleeping and now hungry Ethan Brooks found the food especially delicious.

After the meal, Ethan Brooks rested for a bit.

Grace Bennett brought Ethan Brooks a set of cotton-padded clothes, which looked quite ordinary.

Since they’d chosen to leave Fallen City, it was better to live a more ordinary life.

Though the coat looked a bit ugly, it was especially warm when worn. It was far better than the beautiful but completely useless clothes Ethan Brooks used to wear.

Around two in the afternoon, the heavy snow that had been falling for days finally stopped.

The old butler Abraham Lincoln led Ethan Brooks and his aunt Grace Bennett toward the station.

“Huh? What’s that?” From a distance, Ethan Brooks saw a long vehicle that looked very much like a train on Earth.

It was also made up of a series of carriages, with connecting platforms and railings between every two cars, totaling about twenty or so carriages.

The difference was, this thing wasn’t powered by machines, but by fifteen huge beasts.

“What’s wrong, Lin Sen?” Aunt Grace Bennett asked softly.

“Young master probably can’t remember what that is.” The old butler Abraham Lincoln quietly helped Ethan Brooks out.

“I actually forgot, Ethan Brooks, you’ve forgotten everything.” Although it still sounded a bit awkward for Grace Bennett to say Ethan Brooks’s name, she seemed determined to make it his real name.

“This is the Yalong Carriage.” Grace Bennett gently explained, “The beasts pulling it are the only gentle-tempered giant beasts among the ferocious ones—the Yalong-type Earth Dragons. These Earth Dragons are incredibly strong; fifteen of them can easily pull twenty carriages, and their speed is more than ten times that of an ordinary carriage. I’ll explain the details to you once we’re on board.”

[Isn’t this just a primitive version of a train?] Ethan Brooks thought to himself.

“It’s time, miss, you and the young master need to board the Yalong Carriage. Your seats are in the thirteenth carriage.” The old butler handed the luggage to Grace Bennett, along with two strange cards, which were probably the tickets.

Ethan Brooks glanced at the old butler in confusion, but was led onto the train by Grace Bennett.

“Isn’t butler Abraham Lincoln coming with us?” Ethan Brooks asked in confusion.

“Abraham Lincoln has things he needs to do.” Grace Bennett whispered in Ethan Brooks’s ear.

“Oh.” Ethan Brooks nodded, not asking further. Since Grace Bennett didn’t say, he understood not to press.

“Anyone who dares to hurt you, I won’t let a single one go.” Grace Bennett seemed to have seen through Ethan Brooks’s thoughts and spoke softly.

No matter who it is, if you, brother-in-law, want to stop me then. Grace Bennett’s hand gripped Ethan Brooks’s tightly. If you want to stop me, then don’t blame me for not caring about my sister’s feelings.

Below the train, the old butler Abraham Lincoln’s lips curled into a bitter smile.

“Really, looks like I’ll be away from the young miss for quite a while.” The old butler Abraham Lincoln waved at the young miss in the carriage, his gaze full of longing. At the same time, the elegant old butler kept muttering curses at those bastards who forced him to leave the young miss. If he ever found those guys, he definitely wouldn’t let them off...

Chapter 11: The Little LOLI on the Yalong Carriage

The fifteen giant Earth Dragons at the front of the Yalong Carriage let out a long roar, and after all the passengers had boarded, charged forward. The speed was actually no slower than the regular trains Ethan Brooks had ridden before.

Led by Grace Bennett, Ethan Brooks sat down according to the seat number on his ticket.

After boarding the train with his young aunt Grace Bennett, almost everyone on the train turned to look at them. Especially the men, who looked at them as if a beautiful flower had been stuck into some kind of animal dung. This left Ethan Brooks feeling a bit depressed.
