Chapter 8

But there was no need for William Scott to answer—they already knew.

In the distant thick fog, a black line faintly appeared...

"That's a...island..." Grace Johnson stared in disbelief and said.

Chapter 004 Missing Persons

"I want to go ashore." William Scott suddenly said.

Grace Johnson turned around in astonishment and asked, "What did you say? B-but in this situation... shouldn't we wait for the fleet's arrangements?"

"You don't understand, this isn't a shipwreck. Even the fleet doesn't know what's going on. Those missing people—they're on that island!"

"What? They're all on the island? But... but how did they get over there?" Emily Carter was stunned, then reflexively asked.

William Scott said, "I don't know, but no matter what, the island is dangerous, but if we stay on the ship, it's no different from waiting to die, so..."

Just then, Emily Carter suddenly screamed.

She pointed toward the island and said, "There... there's someone! Mr. Scott, you were right, they really went to the island!"

As she spoke, she raised her arm and excitedly waved toward the island.

But soon, she turned her head with a puzzled look: "Mr. Scott, what's wrong?"

William Scott grabbed her arm, his face dark as he stared over there, muttering under his breath, "Something's not right..."

In the mist, more than one figure appeared on the island, and he immediately recognized one of them.

The man from that couple... he was now walking at the very front, his movements looking a bit unnatural.

But whether before the disaster or in the recent premonition, William Scott had seen him unconscious...

In fact, the one he had just "seen" was limp all over, with one arm twisted outward!

But now, he had suddenly appeared on the shore...

As William Scott stared at him, he felt as if the man was also looking this way.

The moment their eyes met, William Scott was instantly gripped by an indescribable sense of fear.

  That shadow!

When that shadow appeared in the premonition, he had felt the same way!

And in the next moment, he had clearly "felt" himself being killed by the shadow.

"No, we can't let them come up here!" William Scott was suddenly overwhelmed by a strong sense of foreboding.

Whatever those shadows were, one thing was certain—these "people" definitely had a problem!

The way that man looked at him was like he was observing a lowly, unfamiliar insect—with a curious, probing gaze, and indifference.

Then, the man suddenly slowly raised his arm and began to wave at them.

More figures followed suit... In the mist, these "people" started waving toward the cruise ship!

William Scott was stunned and slowly let go of Emily Carter's arm.

  They were... imitating Emily Carter...

Other tourists also noticed the island and those figures.

Many who had lost friends or family were crying tears of joy, and some began trying to lower the lifeboats.

The man who had been shouting "sister" suddenly pointed at one of the shorter figures and shouted, then with a splash, jumped into the sea.

"William Scott, I see David Brooks! That's great, he doesn't seem to be seriously hurt." Grace Johnson didn't notice William Scott's strange expression.

At that moment, a delighted shout came from nearby: "So they went to the island! Unbelievable... I thought they were injured, but they woke up before us and even found the island!"

William Scott looked back and immediately saw David Bolton standing with the other students.

His face was pale, looking shaken, and one side of his glasses was broken.

When he saw William Scott, he hurried over. "Mr. Scott, why didn't you explain things earlier? You must know what's going on, right? I think we should go to the island too. The ship probably can't be repaired anytime soon, and we might have to wait here for rescue... Those classmates already went to the island, maybe we can find some rare plants or animals. Didn't you notice the vegetation is totally different from what we know? Maybe it's a blessing in disguise..."

But William Scott didn't want to waste words with him, because he had once again foreseen a scene of many tourists covered in blood...

This time, it wasn't just some people—it was everyone!

"Forget it, ignore him, let's go too." After being ignored by William Scott, David Bolton turned his attention to what the others were doing.

But the lifeboats hadn't been lowered yet, and not everyone dared to jump into the sea.

"Sis, your brother is coming!" The man's excited shout came from the sea.

William Scott's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly shouted, "Don't go over there!"

But the man didn't listen at all, and soon he eagerly emerged from the water, scrambling ashore in a few quick steps.

In the mist, everyone only heard his voice disappear for a moment, and his figure seemed to stiffen.

But William Scott clearly "saw" what happened...
