Chapter 16

Waking up after nine in the morning, I came out and saw that Evelyn Blake hadn’t gone to work again today. Since that time a week ago when I went grocery shopping with Evelyn Blake, this was the first time I’d seen her again in a week. I was momentarily stunned, but then realized it was the weekend again.

It turned out that on weekends, Evelyn Blake usually went to the office, but now that William Clark was at home and not making a fuss, Evelyn Blake didn’t want to spend all her time at the company anymore.

Now that my nebula had formed, I could bring up divorce with Evelyn Blake. After all, the two of us were basically living as if we weren’t married, so why force someone to stay with a person they dislike? I figured Evelyn Blake was about the same age as me, probably around twenty-four or twenty-five.

Watching William Clark come downstairs, Evelyn Blake felt that William Clark had changed a lot—not just his illness, but his temperament and spirit were nothing like the former lifeless self, the difference was enormous, and even his skin had become radiant. While she was pondering this, suddenly the sound of a car parking came from outside.

“Haha, this villa is mine now, William Clark, you can move out. Father said this villa now belongs to me, as compensation for the damage you did to my car last time. Sorry, but I’m taking the villa back.” As soon as Charles Clark stepped out of the car, his triumphant voice rang out.

Chapter 011 Moving Out

“Charles Clark, what are you doing here again?” When Evelyn Blake saw Charles Clark had come over again, she immediately stood up and asked coldly.

“What am I doing? Of course I’m taking the house back. The house has already been transferred to my name, so of course I’m reclaiming it. Do you really think I’d let you live here for free? What a joke, haha.” Seeing Charles Clark’s arrogant face, William Clark wished he could punch him to a pulp right then and there.

“I’ll come to take the house tomorrow. Don’t make me call security.” Seeing that William Clark and Evelyn Blake were both silent, Charles Clark finished speaking with a vicious wave of his hand and left. This time, though, he didn’t drive his Lamborghini, but a regular Buick. Who knows if his car wasn’t fixed yet, or if he just didn’t dare bring it.

“Uh…”

“Lin…”

“You go first.”

“You go first.”

“Why don’t you go first.” Seeing that they both started speaking at the same time twice, William Clark let Evelyn Blake go first.

“How about I go rent a place? You could…” Evelyn Blake hesitated and didn’t finish, but William Clark interrupted her.

“I have somewhere to stay. Worst case, I’ll go live with my mom. I can’t help with your housing, sorry.” Seeing Evelyn Blake hesitate, William Clark quickly said.

“Oh, that’s good. I can go back home too.” After thinking for a while, Evelyn Blake continued, secretly surprised at how clear and concise William Clark’s thinking and words were. Was he really better now?

“Oh, that’s good. But there’s one more thing I’d like to discuss with you.” William Clark continued.

“What is it?” Evelyn Blake suddenly felt a bit nervous.

“Oh, I think we’re basically living as if we’re not married. I know you really dislike me, and now that we don’t even have a place to live, do you think we should just end this marriage in name only? What do you think?” William Clark finished and looked calmly at Evelyn Blake.

“Ah…” Evelyn Blake hadn’t quite processed what William Clark meant.

“You mean divorce?” Evelyn Blake finally understood. Suddenly, what she’d always wanted had fallen from the sky. Wasn’t this exactly what she’d been longing for?

“What do you think?” Seeing that Evelyn Blake hadn’t given a real answer for a while, William Clark had to ask again.

“Okay, sure. When? Oh, today’s the weekend, how about next Monday?” Evelyn Blake said hurriedly.

“Alright, next Monday then. I know where your company is, I’ll come find you there next Monday. For now, I’ll go cook, you can go upstairs and pack your things.” Seeing how eager Evelyn Blake was, William Clark gave a self-mocking smile and went into the kitchen to start cooking.

Staring blankly at William Clark’s actions, Evelyn Blake was a bit dazed, wondering what was going on with him. Was he really completely better? How could he speak so clearly and always consider others? Impossible—he was still getting up in the middle of the night to shower just last night. But she decided not to think about it. Anyway, they’d be divorced in a few days, she just hoped he wouldn’t relapse before then.

Evelyn Blake went back to her room and packed up all her things. Actually, there wasn’t much—just a few clothes, a computer, and two quilts. After packing all three bags, she went downstairs and saw William Clark had already finished cooking and was waiting for her.

He’d actually made four dishes and a full rice cooker of rice. Evelyn Blake didn’t know why William Clark had cooked so much, but didn’t ask—she just ate quietly. All the dishes suited her taste, and even though she wasn’t hungry, she still ate two small bowls of rice.

After finishing, Evelyn Blake thought about how she hadn’t cooked at all this past week, always eating what William Clark made. Today was probably the last time they’d eat together, so she decided to take the initiative and wash the dishes.

Seeing Evelyn Blake go to wash the dishes, William Clark didn’t stop her. In his mind, he didn’t want to wash the dishes this time anyway—he wasn’t planning to take those chipped bowls with him.
