William Clark sighed and thought to himself, forget it. Even though he talked a big game, even claiming he could do everything up to having children, not a single person believed him.
As for his own problem of making a living, he decided to take it slow. With William Clark's current abilities, it would be a piece of cake to snatch some money off the street, but he was a proud and principled man—he would rather starve than stoop to such disgraceful acts.
All that talk about robbing the rich to help the poor was just an excuse thieves made for themselves. Was the money of the rich just swept in by a flood? No, they earned it through their own hard work, however they did it—it was still someone else's sweat. It seemed this place really wasn't for him. Sighing, William Clark prepared to leave the job market.
“Sir, please wait.” Just as William Clark was about to leave the job market, a charming voice called out to him.
Turning around, William Clark saw a beautiful woman in her thirties. Her chest was voluptuous, even more so than Evelyn Blake, with a slender waist and curvy hips, and a pair of expressive, alluring eyes—a truly captivating and enchanting woman. “Are you calling me?”
The beautiful woman noticed that William Clark only glanced at her, showing a hint of appreciation in his eyes, and then calmly asked if she was calling him. Unlike other men who would immediately show lust in their eyes upon seeing her, this made her feel a bit more favorable toward him.
“Yes, I heard you say during your interview that you could do anything. Our company actually needs someone as versatile as you. Would you be willing to give our company a chance?” After speaking, the beautiful woman smiled charmingly, her eyes captivating. Even with William Clark's composure and experience, he was a bit taken aback.
Chapter 014: Finally Recognized
Actually, the reason this beautiful woman spoke to him wasn't because she truly believed William Clark could do everything. She had simply noticed this man who claimed he could do anything. Watching him get rejected by dozens of companies yet still persistently searching, she was moved by his determination. Seeing his melancholy eyes and messy hair, she suddenly wanted to help him out. After all, her company's general affairs department needed an extra hand.
Hearing the woman's words, William Clark's eyes immediately lit up. He thought to himself, finally someone believes me. He didn't know that others were unaware of his true background; if they did, based on his performance at the job market today, his reputation as a madman would be set in stone.
“Yes, my name is Jessica Bolton. Would you be willing to come try working at our company?” The woman gave him a flirtatious look and continued.
“Sure, sure! Of course I’m willing. What does your company do? Oh, whatever it is, I can help you solve your biggest technical problems, haha.” William Clark said excitedly, immediately rubbing his hands together, looking eager and ready to go.
“Uh, no rush. Our company makes household appliances. As for the biggest technical problem, well, maybe the vacuum cleaner is too noisy.” The beautiful woman had originally wanted to say that the technical department handled all those things, and he would just need to do odd jobs in general affairs. But she thought that saying so might hurt the young man's self-esteem, so she casually mentioned the biggest problem at home—which was also the thing she disliked most about using the vacuum cleaner every day.
Even though she mentioned the problem, she certainly didn't expect this self-proclaimed know-it-all to actually solve it. In fact, even internationally, no company had managed to make a vacuum cleaner completely silent.
“Oh, that's easy! Here, give me a piece of paper and I'll draw you a noise-cancelling circuit.” As William Clark finished speaking, he walked over to the interview table behind the woman.
Jessica Bolton was stunned, thinking this guy was actually serious. She had already given him an out, but he still insisted. No wonder no company wanted him. The thought of hiring him vanished instantly.
William Clark had no idea he had just lost the job he’d almost gotten. He earnestly drew a few simple circuit diagrams on a blank sheet of paper, then used a seemingly complex circuit to connect the simple ones together.
“Alright, this is a noise-cancelling circuit within the object-processing circuit. I also added a reverse-phase silencing circuit. As long as this circuit is installed in the vacuum cleaner, I guarantee there will be no noise at all—you won’t even hear the sound of dust being sucked up. Of course, all the electronic components have to meet the standards.” William Clark said proudly.
Back in the day, he was a certified electronics expert at Tianhong, whose technology was far more advanced than anything here. Designing a noise-cancelling circuit was a piece of cake for him. For some of the circuit notation, William Clark used the conventions he’d seen in local bookstores.
Jessica Bolton took the design plan from William Clark with a complicated expression. Object-processing circuit? She was an electronics major herself, but had never heard of such a thing. She really didn’t know how to deal with him. This guy was just too unrealistic. If someone like him could casually design such a circuit, then all the international electronics experts might as well go home and babysit or eat dog poop.
